Diner Reviews
  • "Our area isn't bursting with jaw dropping establishments that one wants to return to again and again, so this place was just fine as far as dinners go. I'm not sure I'll put it in my rotation for celebrations and fine-dining, but it was fine for our evening out."

  • "The brunch is extensive. Eating outdoors in the manicured garden made us feel special. After brunch, we visited Washington Crossing State Park across the street and Bowman's Tower. Our day was made great by starting it with this brunch and seeing an outdoor wedding take place."

  • "We've been dining here ever since we moved to the area 30 years ago. The owners have changed over the the years, but the food, service and atmosphere have endured. "

  • "The Washington Crossing Inn is such a beautiful Colonial-style building, it was like going back in time. The meal was elegant and delicious!"

  • "It was quiet, elegant, fine service and the food was presented with flair one finds with fine cuisine. I held back the fifth star only because I thought the menu seemed a bit limited. It's not a high volume place so I get it; you can't expect a wide choice of entrees. Having said all that I really appreciated the chef's finesse with my scallops. Very nice and you don't get just that anywhere. "

  • "The Washington Crossing Inn is always a nice change in our regular rotation of restaurants. Everything was lovely when we had lunch there for Mother Day. The weather was perfect, plenty of tables outside, attentive busboys. Our only problem was our waitress. There were four of us. Opening drink orders were two mimosas, tonic water, and one mojito. All drinks took a long time but the mojito was extra late holding up any mother's day toast there might have been. And then our party who ordered it said it wasn't made right. Lunch order also extremely slow and my husband's appetizer salad never came. Unfortunately those kinds of things stick with you. An inattentive waitress can make or break a memory."

  • "When we were there last October, our waitress was fantastic! This visit not so good! Waitress (Jenn) was extremely inattentive to details and never brought rolls until we asked the Manager to bring them. "We ordered a loaf of garlic bread, didn't think you wanted rolls." I don't eat the garlic bread, my partner wanted the bread. Never cleaned crumbs off the table between courses (was done last time). I could go on, but... "

  • "I took my parents to say thank you for all of their support, and my two (single digit) children too. The Inn catered to their bail ride tastes and palettes with superbly prepared steaks, pork that was amazing and hand crafted broiled burgers for the children. My 8 year old daughter and I wolfed down the oysters to start and the shrimp cocktail was simply out of this world. Rounded off by great desserts everyone left thoroughly satisfied. Now, my kids are (very) well behaved which probably contributed to the smooth running of the evening but The Inn contributed too. They had a large reception that evening. Not one time was the excellent service and quality of cuisine compromised. "

  • "Washington Crossing Inn offers a wonderful three-course lunch in their outdoor garden patio for a very reasonable price. We also had the option of choosing from the regular menu. My friend and I took our mothers out to lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the food and the setting. I had the watermelon salad which had a nice combination of greens, watermelon, and feta with a light dressing. I chose salmon for an entree, and the lime panne cotta for dessert. All were very good. Our server was very attentive. We will definitely return. "

  • "We went to the Inn to celebrate a family birthday and early Easter! We had a wonderful dinner and will definitely return. Anya, our server definitely enhanced our experience. We had read about the Special Bread and it was fabulous! It is a must try! It was a chilly night, but next time would like to try eating outdoors in the beautiful garden area! Highly recommend!"

  • "The restaurant has been renovated and looks quite elegant. We ate in the glassed in enclosure and it was lovely. The wait staff was most attentive, the bread was wonderful, and my lamb chops were sumptuous. My only negative comment is that my salad needed more of the interesting additions to the field greens. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his salmon. Al in all, this was the perfect place to celebrate our special occasion."

  • "a few nice surprises! lovely outdoor bar with heat lamps… although it gets breezy and there are smokers, so sit on the side closest to the street! Food was surprisingly good… we sat in the main dining room. Ambiance is a bit stark versus expectations… the porch could use some warmth. Go a bit later as we dined "early bird" and seemed to be among a lot of grey hair…."

  • "Beautiful restaurant...historic surroundings...very well kept...outside dining areas including bar and patio seating looked delightful...wonderful landscaping for outside gatherings maintained to the tee!!!...our lunch selections included a salmon dish and a piled high prime rib sandwich...wish I had been able to try the desserts!!! Afternoon tea also available...HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!"

  • "Nice dinner a bit expensive but I expected that. Food was very good. The waitress was overly attentive which sometimes was annoying but better to be checking on you too much than to be annoyed."

  • "We just visited Washington Crossing Inn for brunch this past Sunday. I have been wanting to go there for a while. It did not disappoint. They had great brunch selections. The omelettes were great. I don't eat a lot of meat, but the bacon was good and everyone seemed to enjoy the prime rib from the carving station. My favorite part was the Salmon. Service was excellent! It gets crowded around 11 a.m. The only real disappointment was the dessert table. I had a little piece of carrot cake and a couple pastries. None of them really impressed me. Other people in our party had other cakes and were not impressed."

  • "All aspects of our dinners were done to perfection. The main menu was generally in the $30 to $40 range with two or three exceptions. My wife ordered from the tavern menu which was more reasonable and again the food was excellent. We had the special bread appetizer which was superb. Bottom line, gourmet quality food, but priced accordingly."

  • "My husband & I went to celebrate our anniversary. Our server greeted us with 2 glasses of champagne on the house. Very nice and unexpected! The table was great with no one on top of us. The food was excellent! Our sever was outstanding!! I only wish I knew her name. She went above and beyond to meet our every needs. We will make the Washington Crossing Inn one of our regular spots for dinner from now on."

  • "We are always treated like royalty at the Washington Crossing Inn. The ambience is exquisite, and the gardens are enchanting. The menu offers extensive, flavorful choices, which we all enjoy. But the best part about this place, is the warm and welcoming staff. Each member goes above and beyond to make sure that we are treated as family."

  • "I was please that our table was in the fireplace room as I requested. It was just lovely, the wait staff attentive. The food was very disappointing. Too much SALT & GARLIC in the dry chicken & fingerling potatoes. Disappointed that lentils came with the meal, felt the addition of the lentils was to cut costs. Butternut squash soup was delicious.Crab bisque soup was highly seasoned with GARLIC and covered with a thick layer of cheese. It actually looked like French onion soup when it arrived. It did not sit well with him later in the afternoon. Burger was very tasty. Would have ordered dessert, but too much seasonings in the food made us loose our appetite. Valentine's Days lunch was a disappointment."

  • "We've been to the inn a number of times for dinner and always enjoyed the experience, but had our first lunch there recently to celebrate a friend's milestone birthday. The 3-course Lunch by the Fireplace is a great value -- appetizer, entree and dessert for $12.95. The sweet potato ravioli appetizer was a big hit at our table and and the entrees (butternut squash, meatloaf, and chicken and dumplings) were enjoyed by all. We brought in a birthday cake and took home the included desserts. Our server graciously presented the cake to our friend, who was surprised and pleased. It was a wonderful occasion in a lovely setting. We felt welcomed and were well taken care of (not to mention well fed!) by the friendly, professional staff."

  • "We go often for lunch with a group and usually get the fixed price lunch. They are a great deal for 3 courses, food is quite good and ample. But on this occasion, the 3 course lunch was not available and the regular lunch menu was pricey and the salad with chicken quite ordinary."

  • "Loved the ambiance and holiday decor. Table settings and presentations were elegant. The chef made accommodations for dietary restrictions. Service was gracious. Most of the tea sandwiches were tasteless and dry. The dessert items were better. We were excited to find such a beautiful setting for a celebration. The bar scene when we were leaving looked exciting. The outdoor bar area also looked fabulous for warmer weather. Probably not bringing my husband back for dinner since the food was not great."
