  • "Nice dinner a bit expensive but I expected that. Food was very good. The waitress was overly attentive which sometimes was annoying but better to be checking on you too much than to be annoyed."

  • "We just visited Washington Crossing Inn for brunch this past Sunday. I have been wanting to go there for a while. It did not disappoint. They had great brunch selections. The omelettes were great. I don't eat a lot of meat, but the bacon was good and everyone seemed to enjoy the prime rib from the carving station. My favorite part was the Salmon. Service was excellent! It gets crowded around 11 a.m. The only real disappointment was the dessert table. I had a little piece of carrot cake and a couple pastries. None of them really impressed me. Other people in our party had other cakes and were not impressed."

  • "Lunch was better than brunch; lunch food was excellent; brunch was good. Brunch pick-up was not readily accessible, and the brunch crowd was energetic - birthdays, etc."

  • "All aspects of our dinners were done to perfection. The main menu was generally in the $30 to $40 range with two or three exceptions. My wife ordered from the tavern menu which was more reasonable and again the food was excellent. We had the special bread appetizer which was superb. Bottom line, gourmet quality food, but priced accordingly."

  • "As usual the WCI took special care of us. Food is always excellent. Black bass chef's special was excellent as was my hubby's squash raviolis. WCI made his birthday special...also loved the chefs dessert cobbler was to die for."

  • "My husband & I went to celebrate our anniversary. Our server greeted us with 2 glasses of champagne on the house. Very nice and unexpected! The table was great with no one on top of us. The food was excellent! Our sever was outstanding!! I only wish I knew her name. She went above and beyond to meet our every needs. We will make the Washington Crossing Inn one of our regular spots for dinner from now on."

  • "We are always treated like royalty at the Washington Crossing Inn. The ambience is exquisite, and the gardens are enchanting. The menu offers extensive, flavorful choices, which we all enjoy. But the best part about this place, is the warm and welcoming staff. Each member goes above and beyond to make sure that we are treated as family."

  • "I was please that our table was in the fireplace room as I requested. It was just lovely, the wait staff attentive. The food was very disappointing. Too much SALT & GARLIC in the dry chicken & fingerling potatoes. Disappointed that lentils came with the meal, felt the addition of the lentils was to cut costs. Butternut squash soup was delicious.Crab bisque soup was highly seasoned with GARLIC and covered with a thick layer of cheese. It actually looked like French onion soup when it arrived. It did not sit well with him later in the afternoon. Burger was very tasty. Would have ordered dessert, but too much seasonings in the food made us loose our appetite. Valentine's Days lunch was a disappointment."

  • "We've been to the inn a number of times for dinner and always enjoyed the experience, but had our first lunch there recently to celebrate a friend's milestone birthday. The 3-course Lunch by the Fireplace is a great value -- appetizer, entree and dessert for $12.95. The sweet potato ravioli appetizer was a big hit at our table and and the entrees (butternut squash, meatloaf, and chicken and dumplings) were enjoyed by all. We brought in a birthday cake and took home the included desserts. Our server graciously presented the cake to our friend, who was surprised and pleased. It was a wonderful occasion in a lovely setting. We felt welcomed and were well taken care of (not to mention well fed!) by the friendly, professional staff."

  • "We go often for lunch with a group and usually get the fixed price lunch. They are a great deal for 3 courses, food is quite good and ample. But on this occasion, the 3 course lunch was not available and the regular lunch menu was pricey and the salad with chicken quite ordinary."

  • "Loved the ambiance and holiday decor. Table settings and presentations were elegant. The chef made accommodations for dietary restrictions. Service was gracious. Most of the tea sandwiches were tasteless and dry. The dessert items were better. We were excited to find such a beautiful setting for a celebration. The bar scene when we were leaving looked exciting. The outdoor bar area also looked fabulous for warmer weather. Probably not bringing my husband back for dinner since the food was not great."

  • "The Washington Crossing Inn is always a good stop. With the cold winter nights you can enjoy the warmth of the fire and fabulous food. Our server Jennifer was outstanding she was very friendly and made our visit that much more enjoyable. The braised short rib dish is warming to the soul. The Caymus was outstanding and very reasonably priced. We are regulars at the Inn and have never been disappointed."

  • "The restaurant was very empty on New Year's Day at dinnertime. This was a bit odd, but it was still pleasant, and very quiet. The entrance from the parking lot was not well marked."

  • "Gorgeous, sophisticated ambiance and good food, but our server put a damper on our evening. She asked us to hand her our plates (at that price, I thought I shouldn't have to do it) and was not friendly. After our meal (my lamb was quite good and the vegetables were prepared perfectly; my husband's salmon was dry) and paying our bill, we were chatting at the table, and the staff kept looking in the doorway at us. I cant say why, but after several times, we felt they wanted us to leave. It was a Sunday evening at 8:30 (we had 6:30 reservations). Not exactly a late night for fine dining. I'm glad to pay those prices for an exceptional experience, but other than ambiance, the Inn fell short. I'm in no hurry to return."

  • "After battling and defeating the British in Trenton (Patriot's Week), we had a lovely, delicious dinner. Service was very good, as well. Menu has just enough choices. This is a place that you would go to after/or for a special occasion, as it is pricey, but food is scrumptious! Although we arrived over 1 1/2 hours early the hostess made accommodations for us immediately. Was not rushed to finish our meal to make way for more patrons. The grounds surrounding the establishment were lovely... even in the winter."

  • "Our daughter had her reception there about five years ago and we loved it. This visit was the first one sinc the wedding and the WCI was magnificient. It has been totally redone, the food was great and the staff was friendly and professional."

  • "Get where I'm going? ;) First of all, the place was simply Gorgeous, as it was decorated for Christmas. We were a party of 4 and really enjoy taking our time dining. Let's put it this way, we had 5:30 reservations, and closed the place!!! We never, ever felt rushed, as our waitress (Jennifer) would simply check in on us to see if we were ready for our next course. Two people got the crab soup and Raved about it! The oysters were Fabulous as well. I must admit, although the Washington Crossing salad was delicious, it was a little too heavily dressed. Our dinners did not disappoint either, we had ordered duck, lamb shank (fell off the bone), steak and snapper, and everyone fully enjoyed their meal. We can't wait to return in January!"

  • "I love the history and ambience of this place. I had a pleasant dinning experience, but here's my take... Pricey menu Food was nice, but I've had better. So value wise -- low marks I was there on a Sat night and the place was packed full. Translation, the restaurant was fairly audible and also very bright. If you are looking for a more romantic setting, I would recommend a different venue. Bottom line: Would I go back there? Yes, but I'm certainly in no hurry!"

  • "Went for my wife's birthday - everything was very nice. Great atmosphere and food was very good and well prepared. Nice mix of menu items. Have also been in the summer and outdoors (especially at lunch) is really enjoyable. I had the short ribs and my wife had the filet - both nice size portions and very well prepared. Only complaint was that for soft drinks/tea they give you one refill and then charge you for additional refills (even though the size of their soft drinks and ice tea are pretty small) - though it never says anything on the menu. Not a big deal, but for a restaurant like this seems a bit petty."

  • "Elegant setting, outside a swell as in, that is perfect for the historical area. The staff members were accommodating and never interrupted the flow of conversation but were still attentive. The food was imaginative- three of us enjoyed the scallop dish with diced parsnip and shredded green apple. I would recommend this restaurant for out of town guests as well as for locals."

  • "It looks to me that they just painted and cleaned up the Inn. It looks gareat. You get the felling of old but in a fresh way. I know how much time and energy it takes to keep the INN in good shape. Reason I live in a 1890 house(not as old as the INN)"

  • "we were delighted to find this lovely inn in a picturesque setting near the delaware river. one feels like she is in a secluded county setting bi=ut in reality only a few minutes from rt. 29. food is delicius and well priced, wine list is good and service is gracious, professional yet warm. It is an easy drive from Peddlar's Village. Great for a day trip from parts of central nj"

  • "We were there to celebrate a birthday and the staff was fantastic! Every staff member even the busser wished the birthday girl a happy birthday and not only picked up the dessert but gave her chocolates too! The restaurant was so beautifully decorated for the holidays which made it that much more special. It was great! We will definitely be returning!"
