A word from Wasabi Sushi & Lounge
Wasabi Sushi & Lounge brings a sophisticated, modern take on traditional Japanese food to the greater Milwaukee area. We believe happiness can come from life's simple pleasures, like the complete satisfaction caused by enjoying inspired, flavorful cuisine. Our chefs give artistic performances with their mastery of sushi preparation, using only the freshest seasonal ingredients - all presented beautifully on the plate. We aim to share the rich culture of Japan & the unique intricacies of sushi with our diners, but with contemporary twists to keep it interesting.
Wasabi is the 1st Wisconsin-based restaurant created by Brian Park, who originally established himself as a successful restaurateur of multiple sushi/Asian-Fusion hot spots in Chicago. Wasabi quickly secured its spot as the premier sushi destination in Brookfield, attracting diners from all over S.E. Wisconsin & beyond with its inventive dishes, artistic plating, plentiful sake offerings, & inviting, knowledgeable staff.

Diner Reviews
  • "We had a great time. The waiter treated my mother very kindly and she had not been to a sushi place before."

  • "My husband and I frequent Wasabi a lot. Always great food, quick service and friendly people. Not much to complain about. Great dinner."

  • "We ordered several sushi rolls and they tasted like they were purchased from a gas/convenience store. Not fresh. Warm. Bland. Also, we asked a couple of times if the Air Conditioning was working and we were told it was. However, it was hot/thick in the back portion of the dining area. This meal was somewhat of a let-down. We've had nice food/experiences there in the past, but last weekend was bleh. Not in a hurry to go back. We'll probably head downtown next time."

  • "I have dined at Wasabi many times and have always enjoyed the food. I was very disappointed in the food that you had at the buffet on Easter Sunday. It all taste the same and didn't feel like the normal quality that you have been know for. I thought that the food was not worth half of what we paid for it. Our waitress was very pleasant."

  • "Very friendly staff here at wasabi. We had to add one more person to our table and they were very accommodating service was excellent. Specialty cocktails were fun. The sushi was very good"

  • "The sushi & sashimi are always very fresh, and beautifully presented. Non-sushi lovers have many options to choose from. I haven't found any other place that offers fresh ground wasabi rather than just having wasabi paste served on with the sushi - what a treat."

  • "Very good sushi and presentation of sushi. We got a sushi roll that came on fire. Very cool! We also got the Chicago roll which was amazing! The only thing we didn't love (It was just ok.) is the standard spicy tuna roll. It was very spicy and had onion in it. I've had better, but everything else was stellar including the service!"

  • "My wife and I made a quick reservation with opentable and walked right in. The restaurant was busy but we were seated immediately. My wife ordered the sea bass and I ordered the spicy sushi combination. The food was excellent. My wife never tried sushiand was very reluctant to try mine. She did and loved it. The house sake was very good and so were the specialty drinks. I had the wasabi mai tai...very good...my wife had a kinky geisha and loved. Great service as always and we will continue to go back."

  • "I took my wife and children here for my wife's birthday. The waitress was extremely friendly and efficient. She apologized for taking a little bit to get our check since they were swamped with customers that night. She asked for what occasion we were out for and even brought out complimentary ice cream for the birthday girl and our group to help celebrate. The food is unbelievable and there are lots of roll selections to choose from. Delicious! Looking forward to our next of many visits here."

  • "I was just there for Valentine's day 2014 and it was easily the best sushi I've ever had. I've had sushi around Milwaukee and a few times in Chicago and I have to say this was this best. Everything was amazingly fresh and delicious and affordable. I saw they do half off on Monday's and I'll definitely be back for that. Their maki rolls were awesome and their signature dishes were even better."

  • "I have never had a California roll with mayo in it. Poor choice to order as it did not taste right at all. The sashimi & nigiri sushi was really good."

  • "Try the Fuji Mojitos. A nice custom spin on a great drink."

  • "We received an email offering us a free Valentines Roll if we made reservations in advance. A sushi roll for free was a nice incentive. When we were seated and placed our order we indicated our relationship to the special...and even offered the confirmation email that referenced the free roll. The waitress spoke with "Management" and indicated that this special was reserved only for Dinner Reservations. This was not indicated on the promotion email nor the confirmation...nor the poster in the bathroom highlighting the special. Then we were told it wasn't available. They gave us coupon 10% off the next visit as though it were a gift...and as we were leaving noticed a stack of the coupons available for anyone who walked in. Terrible!"

  • "We have been here numerous time and the food has been consistently good. We love the combos and specialty roll. The Oh my goodness roll comes out with flame on it - great touch. And the monkey brain is a must try appetizer."

  • "My wife and I wanted some sushi, and we're glad we found this place. The interior is modern and has great decor. Service was excellent. We will definitely go again."

  • "The spider maki rolls were outstanding, the California rolls were great and the bulgogi my husband got was excellent. I had the yaki nikku lunch box. The bento box came with a ton of food, a half CA roll, veg fried rice (the only thing that wasn't that great), a salad with ginger dressing (better than any I've had at other places), 4 bite sized pieces of spicy, sweet and sour chicken and then the shaved rib-eye with veggies for only $10. I would for sure go back and maybe try more of their rolls.Everything seemed very clean."

  • "The AYCE buffet was well stocked and had great choices. Wish that everything was labeled though. It was fun to watch the chefs create the rolls. Our waitress was awesome and the house plum wine was perfect. I liked the feel of the space too. More modern than other Japanese places but still had interesting art pieces to look at."

  • "This has become a tradtion for our family - the sushi buffet on Thanksgiving Eve. Lots of very fresh and delicious rolls and sashimi and even some hot items - the broiled mussle shells were particularly good. We are always treated like revered guests at Wasabi with our own chop sticks. Highly recommend!!"

  • "We were there for their Thanksgiving buffet. We thought it would be special, and had heard nice things about their food (some people saying it's the best in the Milwaukee area... which is far from true). They did have a good selection, in terms of variety, but the quality wasn't anything special. It wasn't bad, just average. Not worth what they charge, and I doubt I'll be back. As for service, 2 of the people in our party couldn't make it, and despite there being about half the tables available (the whole time we were there) we got the impression that the gal at the desk was displeased with us, almost as though we were blocking paying customers. :P Again, it was maybe average for what I'd expect at a buffet."

  • "Your typical Sushi place. Try the Wasabi roll - it's great!"

  • "I frequent Wasabi each time I am in Brookfield. This visit was a bit towards closing time. The Caterpillar was at best average, simply tasted bland. My three colleagues, who also make a point to come here often, found there food only par. From Miso soup, sashimi eel, to the hand rolls. I will give the restaurant one try next time I am in town, and arrive earlier to hopefully taste a noticeable difference."

  • "Wasabi is incredible! We went there to celebrate my sister's Birthday. The food was amazing. The service was extraordinary! We have been to other sushi restaurants, but the quality at Wasabi is, by far the best!"

  • "First time to Wasabi after trying Fujiyama and Kyoto (both of which were good). We expected about the same level of food since all 3 seem to be considered the best sushi in Milwaukee. Wasabi completely blew away the other two. The sushi tasted fresher and the specialty rolls were more creative and complex. The Oh My God roll was a favorite! The Dragon & Red Snapper roll w/ spicy crab (special that night) were also great. We finished with a California roll that was too lemony for me, but it was ok. The prices here were noticeably higher than the competition but for a special night out it was definitely worth it. My husband is in love with the real wasabi served here - so much better than the usual colored horseradish paste!"

  • "We were looking for a new sushi restaurant and came across wasabi. I wasn't drinking so the bartender whipped me up a delicious virgin drink. :) The sushi had so much flavor. I ordered the spicy combination, and it was actually spicy! Most other places it doesn't usually have much spice. Good job wasabi!"

  • "We are from out of state. When visiting Wisconsin we made a drive to visit this place again. Our food was amazing. The california rolls (what our girls eat) were just okay."

  • "Wasabi is a real favorite of mine. It's in a very unlikely strip mall location in the urban sprawl of Brookfield. Once found, however, the place has very nice specialty rolls and a large menu of Japanese, Asian and Korean delicacies. I have had the Omakasi here (where you turn yourself over to the chefs) and it was spectacular. Their Sakitini is a favorite drink. Highly recommended."
