Diner Reviews
  • "The seafood in parchment did not taste fresh, and the filet was gristly. Such a shame, because it's such a good location and the decor is nice. Perhaps they reel in hungry tourists and skimp on quality ingredients."

  • "Our first trip to the Warehouse was a delight, and we look forward to visiting this establishment many more times. While three of our party had "regular" lunch menus items (crab cake and oyster sandwiches, lobster cobb salad) I chose one of the daily specials. The stuffed avocado shrimp salad, surrounded by fresh mango, strawberries, and honeydew was beautifully presented, and refreshing delightful to eat. The lobster cobb salad was also extremely tasty, but the tortilla shell color a bit off-putting. Our server (who was EXTREMELY polite and well-versed in all of the offerings) asked what had brought us to the restaurant, and when we explained that we were celebrating two birthdays, he appeared with a gratis fabulous dessert. Bliss!"

  • "My wife and I were meeting for dinner with an adult niece who works in Old Town and were looking for a place with a menu and ambience that would fit a range of ages and tastes. The Warehouse Bar and Grill fit the bill perfectly. We were not looking for "haute cuisine" but something for everyone and found it here. There was a good variety of wine by the glass. We had a table with good light and a view of the street which made it interesting. There was no difficulty holding a conversation despite my poor hearing. The meal was well paced. We ordered oysters on the half shell as an appetizer and they were HUGE! We will go again."

  • "The atmosphere and service were good. We ate at 6:30 on a summer Tuesday and it wasn't very crowded. At least at that time, it is pretty quiet and service was very attentive. The wine list is mostly reasonably priced wines. I was torn between two wines and was pleased to have the waiter recommend the cheaper one. My son had a salmon special, which was very good, and my wife had the steak tenderloin which she raved over. I order the pork chops prepared medium well. One was fine, although more well than medium and the other was over cooked to the point where it was very hard to cut it. it was quite pricey for the food quality but not bad overall. My wife would return for sure; I suppose I'd give them another chance."

  • "This restaurant has been in business for years. And while the menu doesn't change, it doesn't have to. Try the pecan crusted chicken with lump crab. And definitely get the she-crab soup. This place does crab on everything and I'm not complaining!"

  • "Basically I don't think open table really cares about these surveys because they do nothing about them. Nothing gets done. So Osteria Marzano will not see my return in quite awhile. At least my 2 visits to the Warehouse Grill did things right!!! Marzanos cancelled my reservation even when I proved to them that I was there. Open table only paid me lip service. Why even pretend to be something you really aren't? ??"

  • "Back to Warehouse again with my Dad. Requested Toumaney when I made my reservation this time after our outstanding last visit. This waiter sets such an example that I don't want to go anywhere else. My Dad can be a tough (but fair) customer and everything Toumaney has recommended has been right on the money. Not once have we been disappointed. It's easy to see why we make reservations here when my Dad's in town. The bar has been set very high. Thanks again Toumaney & Warehouse for another lovely time! See you soon!"

  • "There were 4 in our party and we all enjoyed the experience. A great, corner table was waiting for us, and we were seated quickly. The waiter was great, and even went back to the kitchen to our questioned answered. The food was wonderful! We also enjoyed that we could actually hear each other even though the room was almost full. The food and atmosphere put us all in a great mood, and we'd certainly go back again."

  • "First time here after hearing about this restaurant. Liked the décor, pictures of frequent diners on the wall. Great selection of seafood fare as well as other dishes. Superb food and very attentive service from our server. A great dining experience."

  • "We've been to the Warehouse on many occasions and we always leave pleased. They've got a good balanced menu with lots of options as far as meat vs seafood. Our most recent visit was on a Wednesday evening and the place was pretty much packed. That alone should tell you that the food is good. I am gluten intolerant, but before I found that out, I always had the she-crab soup...delicious!"

  • "My family and I hadn't been to the Warehouse Bar & Grill in at least a year, but as soon as we were seated we felt right at home. The Father's Day brunch menu was great, as was the champagne that was included with our entrees. The service was very good and our orders were delivered promptly. We will definitely be returning soon."

  • "My wife and I went to celebrate Father's Day and as always, we were quite pleased with the Warehouse Grill. Right on King Street in Old Town Alexandria, plenty of sidewalk action, within walking distance to the basin and other non-traditional stores..."

  • "I wanted to take my wife some place special for our 35th wedding anniversary. The food was delicious the service was fantastic and they treated us like royalty. I believe they have the best soft shell crab dish this side of the Mississippi. I high recommend giving them a try."

  • "I visited the restaurant this past Sunday with two friends for brunch. We had arrangements to meet at another location but they were booked so I went onto Open Table and began looking into restaurants in the area. The one thing that caught my eye was the Crab and Asapargus omelet. I made the reservation that morning. I arrived 5 minutes earlier than my reservation. I was greeted and sat immediately upon the arrival. The hostess was very attentive and gave great brunch suggestions. Our waiter was very attentive to our needs as my other two guests arrived a little late. We were not rushed to order nor to leave. The food was AMAZING. I had the crab cake benedict. We each shrared each other food and it ALLLL was GREAT!! A MUST TRY"

  • "The restaurant saved a very special table for us on the second floor by the window because i had asked for a romantic spot when booking the reservation and the food was phenomenal. The only comment I have is that the service did not match the ambience and prices. Our dirty appetizer plates were never removed even though the server was just standing around because it was very slow on our level, he forgot our soup which resulted in my seafood entree having to be returned to the kitchen to sit under the heat lamp causing it not to be fresh and he basically stood over us as my husband was trying to pay the bill which was incredibly awkward. "

  • "We had been to the Warehouse & Grill before with our children for Sunday brunch. It's a small restaurant so it's not the best for big groups, but great for smaller groups or couples. The food is excellent and freshly prepared and the service was great as well. The servers weren't annoying or hard to find. Would highly recommend for a causal or fancy dinner affair."

  • "This has been our 'special occasion' restaurant since 2011 and it has never disappointed. The service is impeccable, the ambiance is lovely and the food is absolutely delicious! We highly recommend this restaurant for a special adult night out as a couple, with family or friends!"

  • "Dined on a recent Saturday night- 3 of us had the crab cakes, one the lamb chop special. All agreed the food was great. Reasonable wine list and good service. I was concerned heading in after seeing the caricatures on the walls that it wouldn't be tourist friendly. While we didn't have a great table, we were treated well by our server. If you like crab cakes- make the trip!"

  • "The Warehouse Bar & Grill is a great place to visit. The she-crab soup is a highlight. The service is excellent. The restaurant has switched to using a soft whipped butter, an improvement over previously hard stick butter. The crabcakes are great - lumps of crab with practically no filler. Seafood baked in paper is always a favorite - tender, moist, and butter-y."

  • "This was my second time dining here and sadly, the second time left much to be desired. I had the stuffed flounder and it was okay; the food presentation wasn't great. The service was poor. We constantly had to ask for refills and felt we were in the way of the waiter. He was not attentive and did not make us feel very welcome. I loved this place the first time around, but left unimpressed and disappointed on the second time. "

  • "We've been to the Warehouse many times---have never been disappointed. We are working seniors and love good food, but my wife is allergic to seafood, so it's rather difficult to share a meal in a seafood town. (I love seafood.) We find items to share at the Warehouse and the staff is very accommodating in preparing, serving and splitting the meals---just great, as is the food. We especially like the pecan-crusted chicken with crab----works for us. "

  • "I have to say my husband and I both were disappointed in The Warehouse. Good news first: the service was excellent and ambience was nice. This restaurant is tiny, so it was very loud while we were dining. My cosmo and appetizer of raw oysters were great. Bad news: Bread is served cold. Seriously? Both of our entrees were not impressive and lacked seasoning. We both added salt to our food, which I have a problem with when I am paying the prices this places charges. My fried oysters were served laying in a sauce causing the breading (which had no flavor) to become soggy. This dish was served with mashed potatoes and spinach, both of which needed seasoning. Dessert was ok but lacked presentation. We will not be back."

  • "Meeting up with people visiting from out if town and needing a restaurant with guaranteed good food but NOT in DC (but still with good "in the city" quality food, The Warehouse met our needs. One complaint -- a small place, so it can get a little too noisy at busy times, especially for one of our party with a bit of a hearing difficulty. "

  • "We went to warehouse bar and grill for Easter dinner. The food was very good and the wine list was very extensive. Only negative was we were seated right next to the kitchen which took away from the ambience of the place."
