Diner Reviews
  • "We had another fun night at Wang's. Always fun to run into friends at happy hour with great drink prices. Some great new items on the "Specials" menu. Szechuan Beef, Lemongrass, Ginger Chicken. Lorena was our server, she is always friendly and fun. The kitchen was a little slow this night."

  • "Vast menu and good wine list. We were late and the kitchen waas closing but they were very accommodating"

  • "Levy was our server and took good care of us. There are a couple new special menu items that are delicious. Szechaun (sp?) beef and chicken lemongrass ginger, YUM!"

  • "The last couple of times the food has gone down quality wise and the servers just couldn't care less about taking care of customers. The awful green neon lighting makes the whole restaurant one giant glow stick. Our drinks had to be sent back and I swear they just put the same beverage in a new glass. This used to be a favorite of ours but now we're on the look out for another Asian place to dine in the desert."

  • "Everything was fine. However, my one suggestion would be for the waiter to stop by the table during dinner and ask us if we need anything else and if everything was ok. For instance, we needed soy sauce, extra napkin, etc., and we had to search for the waiter to ask for these items. I ended up having to ask another waiter for the items. In other words, management has to train the waiters to become more attentive to the diners' needs while they are seated during the meal."

  • "Wangs has tasty dishes and has been consistent in food and service each time we have visited. There is no wrong choice on the menu. Everything we have ever ordered has been tasty. Highlights are their drinks. Excellent specialty drinks. Well worth it."

  • "Usually a delightful place to dine but disappointed this last time. Our waitress was more interested in speaking with the bar staff than giving us decent service. When confronted with our criticisms, she raised her voice denying the reality of the situation and said was going to the kitchen. We were shocked by her reaction and decided to leave because we were unsure what may happen to our main course. We gave the manager an excuse that we had to leave, paid and left. We didn't complain to the Manager(though he did ask us what was wrong) because the server seemed quite unstable and we didn't want to be the cause of anyone losing their job. We will return but not for a long time."

  • "It was fun ~ entertaining ~ excellent food (bit pricey) ~ everyone is always so nice and eager to please. The Drag'on Ladies were great particularly the emcee. just a fun experience."

  • "Unassuming exterior but heard the music the minute we stepped out of the car. Entered through a pleasantly crowded bar and walked over a little bridge to the restaurant side of Wang's which was blessedly quiet. Food was creative, fresh and delicious."

  • "We have eaten here many times and the food is always very good....delicious, large portions, served hot....Typically the service is also excellent. However the host didn't seem to care, no welcome, no hello, no smile, no enjoy your dinner. And the food service was quite slow which was unusual for this restaurant. It must have been and 'off' service night."

  • "one of my favorite restaurants, service is excellent. Had to ask to be seated far away from the bar area, as there was an extremely loud wedding party going on."

  • "We usually get into town on Friday afternoon. After a bit of pool time, we head to Wang's for their Famous Friday Happy Hour. We plan ahead and make dinner reservations through Open Table. Everyone, from the bartenders, front desk, servers and bus staff are always helpful and friendly. The Appetizers are quite tasty and hard to decide which to get. But the best is when everyone orders something different for dinner and passes the meals around. Then you get to try everything. It's great. Can't wait to come back."

  • "Understand that we went for dinner on a busy Friday night but waiting 30 minutes just to get a drink ordered is a bit much. Had to send a couple of busboys to try and find our waiter. In the end we flagged another waiter down and he was nice enough to take our order."

  • "The food at Wang's is always consistently delicious. Fresh ingredients and perfect seasoning make this a go-to whenever we visit Palm Springs. The atmosphere is serene and very inviting. The bridge over the water feature that runs through the restaurant is very charming."

  • "This place seemed to have a staffing problem. Even half empty it wasn't able to handle the business it had. It took a lifetime to order. When dishes finally came out the food was not even hot. When we paid the check this also took forever then there was confusion our Credit Card was then given to another guest. I don't recommend this Spot. Do yourself a favor get Panda Express if you want mediocre Chinese."

  • "Two of our food choices were great; two were okay. Disappointed with the jalapeno calamari. Beef and broccoli was good, shrimp dish was great. Way, way , way too noisy. Could not talk at the table hardly at all without moving in towards company twards middle of table. You need to change from one big room to a more intimate, quieter ambience."

  • "A local group residents. I had a terrible experience with the hostess and the other employee. I made reservations and when I got there made us wait having tables available. Then they set us down in a table in a dark room because they supupouse not to have tables. Not very welcoming personalities from those 2 employees. I will not go back !"

  • "We've had good lunches there in the past . Feels really dated newer restaurants in the area are gonna wash them up. Fire cliff needs to be freshened up. We won't be going back with fresher restaurants in the area. My food was ok flavors were good, presentation was terrible. I has two scallops on my plate ,were good, and two jumbo shrimp Which they killed. Didn't empress us at all."

  • "We have eaten at Wangs many times and tout it as the best of it's cuisine in the desert. We took out -of -towners a few days ago and were very disappointed. The cold peanut noodles lacked taste as did the entrees we ordered ( our past favorites). Very uncharacteristic of Wang's . Also added to the cuisine was the noise level, a rowdy group in the corner made it virtually impossible to talk to one another. Will chock it up to an off night and give it another try next season."

  • "We've loved the food at Wang's for years and still do. But the service recently has been very disappointing. Hope they were just a couple of bad nights. We'll keep trying for awhile."
    Dined on 3/24/2014
  • "A couple of walls were removed to open up the restaurant. However it caused the noise levels to travel and echo."
    Dined on 3/23/2014
  • "I should have suspected a different experience when I parked in the only space left in the parking lot and was frightened by a homeless guy sleeping in the dirt on the other side of the fence. We were seated on time at 7 on a Saturday night. The waiter did not have that many tables but it took forever to get food and drinks. The food was passable. Appetizers looked like microwave in a box. We finished dinner in 2 hours and left. It seems like a good place to meet friends for drinks in a festive atmosphere but I wouldn't return for dinner for awhile."

  • "This is the second time we have eaten at Wang's. The food and the service was great both times. The first visit was on a Sunday evening and we enjoyed it very much. This time was Friday evening and though everything else was great, we found the noise level too high for our liking. I would go again in the future but on a less busy evening."

  • "The food is terrific and the wait staff very friendly and helpful. It is a very large and varied menu but every dish is done individually with great sauces and tastes. Great place to order lots of dishes and start passing to get a taste of it all."

  • "Not as authentic or as good as what we get at home in Regina, SK."
    Dined on 3/12/2014
  • "This was our 7th visit to Wangs. It has become increasingly disappointing. The food is very overpriced for the small portions served. The Walnut shrimp for $19.00 had 3 (I'm not kidding) walnuts. The beef in the Beef Chow Fun was overlooked, dry and tough. The service was sparingly and inattentive. We've given this restaurant a fair chance and will not return for dinner. The bar area is lively and energetic with friendly staff."

  • "Best Chinese in the desert! A bit challenging for vegetarians (which one of us is) but still worth it just for the Dragon Wontons and the amazing martini's! Excellent food!"
    Dined on 3/4/2014
  • "Things started out a little iffy...the host told us a couple of times "give me a minute" & then disappeared for much longer, finally got seated & it took a while before we even got water but then Lorena came to take our order & everything changed for the better! She was fantastic...fun, sassy & efficient. Food was very good, had the combo platter starter, the cabbage things were odd but the rest great. Fried rice was delish, lemon pepper prawns were neither lemony nor peppery but were still tasty, the beef with broccoli was the stand out dish this night; beef was tender & flavorful, broccoli cooked perfectly, not overdone one bit! Yin & Yang martini was quite possibly one of the best martins I've ever had, YUM! We will be back!"
    Dined on 3/5/2014
  • "The food was awesome and I would go back for it. The volume of the bar area was mitigated when we asked to move to the back of the dining room away from it. Overall a great place to eat."

  • "I googled best happy hour in Palm Springs and got Wang's. Although we did not make happy hour, their Lychee Martinis are fantastic! I have had many Lychee martinis and this one was right up there with the one I had at The Mandarin in Vegas. Food was very good and appetizers. We went with a group and everyone enjoyed it. They serve family size so had plenty of left overs. Also, was within walking distance of our hotel. Great find!"

  • "It's too bad they shortened the happy hour to 7:00 on Fri. It is not always easy to make it from LA in time to hang out at happy hour with friends before dinner. The food was good, honey pepper beef, twice cooked pork, green curry chicken. Levy was our server again. He is always friendly and makes the evening fun."

  • "Always a hoot to go to Wang's. Food is good and lots of fun people eat there!"
    Dined on 2/21/2014
  • "Wang's always has a fun crowd, the food is pretty good and the people watching is great. The biggest downside is the interior noise level. They of rid of a lot of the fabric décor, tablecloths and now has a polished concrete floor - that whole combo just keeps bouncing the sound around. Its nice that the restaurant can accommodate large parties. The food is good but the appetizers often come out of the kitchen before the first round of drinks."

  • "Been here many times. Not really crazy about the new menu set up, its rather confusing. Chinese Food in the desert? Well overall its good and PRICEY for the quality of food you get compared to SGV. Expect to pay $25-$35 pp without drinks. Ambience is lovely, staff is efficient."
