Walnut Street Supper ClubWe had a fabulous time; foodWe had a fabulous time; food was better than very good as was the service. Loved having a 20% discount for the theater and the discounted parking. Thanks for both. We liked it so much we went back after the show for a drink before heading home and shared time with a small birthday party. Lovely evening.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a date night! We had a wonderful dinner at Walnut Street Supper Club. Like stepping back in time (without the cigarette smoke) to the 1940s...I half expected Rosemary Clooney or Frank Sinatra to step out and start singing. Instead, the group of really terrific wait staff took turns singing much more modern tunes. (We would have enjoyed more than two sets of 20 minutes, though!)
The food was great--I loved the spinach salad and fresh pasta parppardelle and my date enjoyed the beef carpaccio and lamb. The retro cocktails were a hit, too.
There were people there, for sure, but not nearly enough considering the value of the meal and the wonderful free entertainment.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyed another deliciousEnjoyed another delicious lunch with superb service by Jess. Had the chicken piccata with vegetables and a side of fettuccine. The chicken piccata and fettuccine were nicely prepared, arrived hot and were very filling. For dessert had a slice of cheesecake with a crumbled blueberry crust. The cheesecake was fresh and very tasty. A complimentary basket of sliced Italian bread with olive oil for dipping was also provided.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat timeWent for an early dinner at 6:00. We were only the second table to be seated. Our waitress was vedy friendly and offered recommendations for entrees and wine selections. We ordered the mushroom medly, mussels and a spinach salad and she asked if we wanted them served together or to make it like three courses. We opted to have them together and all were very tasty. While we were working on these, the wait staff began to take the stage and sang a variety of broadway show tunes. They were all very talented and it added a lot to the dining experience. For entrees we had ghe rack of lamb and veal parmesan. Both were excellent. Desert was also very good. Overall it was a very enjoyable experience and we will go again6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMI can not say enough goodI can not say enough good things about Walnut Street Supper Club. The food was fantastic. The talent was amazing, we loved listening to the wait staff singing showtunes and Motown hits. Our waiter was excellent. We will be making this a regular stop whenever we are in Philly!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a great place! The foodWhat a great place! The food was excellent as was the service. The entertainment was outstanding. My husband and I will definitely go back!6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMDelightedA gift certificate brought us to you. Could not have been more pleased. Hope to return soon....6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and wonderful entertainment.I had no idea when I booked our reservation that there would be entertainment. I loved it. All the waitstaff take turns singing and they are all Excellent! The food was top notch!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMTop-notchDined here for the first time and was very pleased. Upon entering the host asked us if we wanted to sit close to or far away from the music. We opted for the latter. We could still hear the music, albeit muted, and could view the performers on a TV screen. Food was exceptional. I had the veal parmagiana, and my wife had the lobster Fra Diavolo. Both were great, as was the tiramisu which we shared. Service was great, attentive and timely, but not rushed. The staff provides the entertainment. Neat young folks. Highly recommended.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMFantasticWe took my parents out to a show and dinner for their birthdays. We all had a wonderful time, in fact, my parents called several times to let us know how much fun they had and how much they loved The Walnut Street Supper Club. We all loved the old fashioned charm, the family atmosphere and the entertainment. The prices are very reasonable for all that you receive. We also like how the owner came around, table to table and expressed interest in each guest. You don't find that very often anymore. This place is a gem!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat find before the theaterIt's perfect before the theater. Yummy food and wonderful staff who sing while you eat :)5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat night!!!We had a large group for a special occasion and I was nervous having not been there before. Everything was terrific. The staff was accommodating especially when we added more people to our party at the very last minute. Menu was solid and the food was good. Mussels in white wine sauce were tender and delicious. Pasta was exceptional. Entertainment was fun. The staff is very talented. Will definitely return with our very large family again! My husband was pleasantly surprised when he got the check too.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Dining ExperienceWe went after the afternoon theater show. Had no problem get seated. Staff was very attentive and friendly. It was a great dining experience that also included entertainment. We will defiantly return as well as recommend it to any one.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMDinner with MusicThis is such a great dining experience. The restaurant has a stage where every server takes their turn to sing, and then returns to serve the customer. Everyone has tremendous voices that you find it difficult to choose your favorite. Although, I must admit that I discovered a young Judy Garland in the making. The food was unbelievable. I brought two groups with me on our last night of our convention (24 people). It was the highlight of the entire trip!5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat food with a side of fun!The Walnut Street Supper Club's menu is primarily Italian - delicious food, beautiful presentation, generous portions. The menu is heavy on seafood (the calamari was memorable) but we found plenty of choices for the seafood-adverse in our group. The pasta is homemade. Service is attentive but not rushed.
There is a pianist playing background music - and from time to time, the waiters, who are all trained singers, step up to the microphone to sing. The music is varied - Sinatra classics, Broadway show tunes, popular music, etc. The singers were all good, and the live singing adds an element of fun to a delicious meal. We're looking forward to returning.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLive Singingi took my mother here to celebrate Mother's Day and the atmosphere was incredible. The staff all took turns singing with the band (20s-60s music) and proved that they are all talented! The food was really good (I recommend the lobster ravioli) and so was the view. You can choose to sit outdoors or inside. We had a great time.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFun night outExcellent place to take friends, family or vistors for a fun night out. The staff is professional and we appreciated the fact the owner visted the table. America's got talent and its at the Walnut Street Supper Club5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMVery nice experienceSeated promptly. Served quickly. Attentive server. The food was good, although not gourmet. Menu is entirely a la carte and so cost of dinner ( if you are interested in any addition such as salad) is higher than the entree alone. The entertainment was charming (about 10 minutes each hour) and added to the experience. Would go again.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMDid not want to leave! The entire experience was delightful. Jason, the host, made sure our experience would not be forgotten. The atmosphere sends you back in time. We expected Frank or Dino to walk thru the door. I cannot even begin to tell you how talented the staff of singers are, you have to hear them for yourself and you will not be disappointment. The piano player is not just talented but his humor is equally entertaining! The only bad part was leaving! We will be back. Thank you to Jason, Joe our server and the entire staff for making our 27th anniversary a night to remember! To anyone thinking about going.. Stop thinking and go. You along with us will want to tell everyone about the great unique spot!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMMid week delightGreat mid-week dinner spot. Good entertainment, food and ambiance. Great place to be before a show on the Avenue of the Arts.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMUnexpected delightful eveningNot sure what we were expecting from a supper club so close to the convention center but we were pleasantly surprised. Service, food and especially entertainment were all first class. Make it a part of your itinerary!4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThere were 4 for dinner theThere were 4 for dinner the food was very good and there is entertainment. The waiters would sing a song from the 40s-60s. The show would consist of a waiter singing a song accompanied by a person playing the piano. It would go fro about 20 minutes starting about 20 minutes on the hour.
The wine is from $9.00 - $11.00 per glass.??4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our second time weThis was our second time we visited the WSSC. We're from Allentown so it's not a trip we make daily. We were taking friends to see the Philly Pops and I thought they'd love the added musical experience. Chelsea and Ashley took excellent care of us. Turned out Chelsea was from the Lehigh Valley so we created a special bond. She is an excellent waitress, a fantastic performer, and a lovely person. Our meals were delicious and Kim and the other staff members were so gracious to us, we will definitely come again. In fact, I just talked to my sister from Bucks County this morning and told her what a great evening we had! The food is well prepared and tasty, very Italian. I recommend of the pastas as a starter, then the lamb for dinner. I didn't have dessert, but it smelled wonderful. Good wine list, though not too expansive.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWaitstaff could not be anyWaitstaff could not be any nicer and the food was excellent.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic! We had a fantastic time celebrating a 60th birthday! The sandwich came with a side of golden French fries. The sandwich and fries arrived hot and were very filling. Its my second time there and I now know that the first time wasnt a fluke. The food was great, which usually doesn't happen when you are being entertained as well. Staff was great too. They made us, and every one, feel special and that we we mattered as patrons. They were the total package.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMImpressive all aroundWow. We really looked forward to having dinner here, but were absolutely blown away by what a wonderful experience it was. The food was delicious and not overpriced. The service was impeccable. And the music/singing was exactly the right volume. This place really felt like an old Hollywood throwback. Not too snobby, but just enough panache to make you feel cared for.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMA MUST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Loved this Restaurant. and the group loved Jason!!!!!4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMperfect place before a showperfect place before a show in center city. was very good. gave discounts for show tickets and valet parking for garage next door as well.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for a pre-theater meal.Great for a pre-theater meal. Friendly staff, good food and fun entertainment. All reasonably priced.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMI brought my Belgian friendsI brought my Belgian friends to Philadelphia for a weekend visit. It was their first time in Philly and having dinner at the Walnut St Supper Club made their visit even more memorable and lots of fun! Also it was a unique and special birthday celebration for one of them (Christine). We enjoyed the music and listening to the musically talented waitstaff. We were very impressed with the delicious fresh food, the ambiance and the warmth and friendliness of the manager and staff. My friends were also in awe of the entertainment because they don't have it in Belgium and they wish they had one in their country. We plan to return to the restaurant the next time we are back in Philly.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWe loved the supper club feel,We loved the supper club feel, and the five of us ordered something different different; all were very pleased with our food. Bar Tending Staff as well as Wait staff are very accomodiating and the food is great from start to finish.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved the singers.Enjoyed our pre-theatre dinner. Twenty % discount when you show your tickets. The singers were quite talented and the songs were soothing. Food was good. Our appetizer was calamari that overcooked and seemed rubbery. Entrees were better: lobster ravioli which had a lobster tail on top and tuna. Drinks were very good. I enjoyed the Marilyn Monroe. We recommend and will return despite the calamari.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was such a surprise! WhatIt was such a surprise! What a fun idea to have your waiters and waitresses take turns singing. They were all so talented, both as waiters and performers. The atmosphere was fun.. Very vintage. The owner talked to us and even treated us to a round of drinks on the house. Such hospitality! Definitely recommend for a fun alternative to the typical Italian dining experience. Will be going very soon.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is truly a great placeAlthough we had an 8:00pm dinner reservation on Saturday night, we arrived a little early and were seated right away. We had a nice table to the left of the stage, however, after receiving our drinks and bread, we were asked if we would mind moving to a table behind us, so that they could seat a large party, and for our troubles they "comped" our drinks. We actually had a better view of the stage anyway.
We started off with Crabcakes, Beef Carpaccio and the Caprese salad. Everything was great, I had the Braciola which was outstanding and my wife had the filet (med rare)which was cooked to perfection....the baked potato however was a little undercooked but this place was great and we will definitely be going back.....3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a nice lunch with excellentHad a nice lunch with excellent service by Jess.
