Walnut Street Supper ClubDinner with MusicThis is such a great dining experience. The restaurant has a stage where every server takes their turn to sing, and then returns to serve the customer. Everyone has tremendous voices that you find it difficult to choose your favorite. Although, I must admit that I discovered a young Judy Garland in the making. The food was unbelievable. I brought two groups with me on our last night of our convention (24 people). It was the highlight of the entire trip!5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat food with a side of fun!The Walnut Street Supper Club's menu is primarily Italian - delicious food, beautiful presentation, generous portions. The menu is heavy on seafood (the calamari was memorable) but we found plenty of choices for the seafood-adverse in our group. The pasta is homemade. Service is attentive but not rushed.
There is a pianist playing background music - and from time to time, the waiters, who are all trained singers, step up to the microphone to sing. The music is varied - Sinatra classics, Broadway show tunes, popular music, etc. The singers were all good, and the live singing adds an element of fun to a delicious meal. We're looking forward to returning.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLive Singingi took my mother here to celebrate Mother's Day and the atmosphere was incredible. The staff all took turns singing with the band (20s-60s music) and proved that they are all talented! The food was really good (I recommend the lobster ravioli) and so was the view. You can choose to sit outdoors or inside. We had a great time.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFun night outExcellent place to take friends, family or vistors for a fun night out. The staff is professional and we appreciated the fact the owner visted the table. America's got talent and its at the Walnut Street Supper Club5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMVery nice experienceSeated promptly. Served quickly. Attentive server. The food was good, although not gourmet. Menu is entirely a la carte and so cost of dinner ( if you are interested in any addition such as salad) is higher than the entree alone. The entertainment was charming (about 10 minutes each hour) and added to the experience. Would go again.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMDid not want to leave! The entire experience was delightful. Jason, the host, made sure our experience would not be forgotten. The atmosphere sends you back in time. We expected Frank or Dino to walk thru the door. I cannot even begin to tell you how talented the staff of singers are, you have to hear them for yourself and you will not be disappointment. The piano player is not just talented but his humor is equally entertaining! The only bad part was leaving! We will be back. Thank you to Jason, Joe our server and the entire staff for making our 27th anniversary a night to remember! To anyone thinking about going.. Stop thinking and go. You along with us will want to tell everyone about the great unique spot!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMMid week delightGreat mid-week dinner spot. Good entertainment, food and ambiance. Great place to be before a show on the Avenue of the Arts.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMUnexpected delightful eveningNot sure what we were expecting from a supper club so close to the convention center but we were pleasantly surprised. Service, food and especially entertainment were all first class. Make it a part of your itinerary!4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our second time weThis was our second time we visited the WSSC. We're from Allentown so it's not a trip we make daily. We were taking friends to see the Philly Pops and I thought they'd love the added musical experience. Chelsea and Ashley took excellent care of us. Turned out Chelsea was from the Lehigh Valley so we created a special bond. She is an excellent waitress, a fantastic performer, and a lovely person. Our meals were delicious and Kim and the other staff members were so gracious to us, we will definitely come again. In fact, I just talked to my sister from Bucks County this morning and told her what a great evening we had! You are a treasure in a city filled with good restaurants.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMBirthday celebrationHad a great time. Its my second time there and I now know that the first time wasnt a fluke. The food was great, which usually doesn't happen when you are being entertained as well. Staff was great too. They made us, and every one, feel special and that we we mattered as patrons. They were the total package.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMImpressive all aroundWow. We really looked forward to having dinner here, but were absolutely blown away by what a wonderful experience it was. The food was delicious and not overpriced. The service was impeccable. And the music/singing was exactly the right volume. This place really felt like an old Hollywood throwback. Not too snobby, but just enough panache to make you feel cared for.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMA MUST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Loved this Restaurant. and the group loved Jason!!!!!4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMperfect place before a showperfect place before a show in center city. was very good. gave discounts for show tickets and valet parking for garage next door as well.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for a pre-theater meal.Great for a pre-theater meal. It was their first time in Philly and having dinner at the Walnut St Supper Club made their visit even more memorable and lots of fun! Also it was a unique and special birthday celebration for one of them (Christine). We enjoyed the music and listening to the musically talented waitstaff. We were very impressed with the delicious fresh food, the ambiance and the warmth and friendliness of the manager and staff. My friends were also in awe of the entertainment because they don't have it in Belgium and they wish they had one in their country. We plan to return to the restaurant the next time we are back in Philly.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWe loved the supper club feel,We loved the supper club feel, and the five of us ordered something different different; all were very pleased with our food. What a fun idea to have your waiters and waitresses take turns singing. They were all so talented, both as waiters and performers. The atmosphere was fun.. Very vintage. The owner talked to us and even treated us to a round of drinks on the house. Such hospitality! Definitely recommend for a fun alternative to the typical Italian dining experience. Delicious as well!!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have been to The WalnutWe have been to The Walnut St. Supper Club several timesAnd have never been disappointed. Will be going very soon.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is truly a great placeAlthough we had an 8:00pm dinner reservation on Saturday night, we arrived a little early and were seated right away. We had a nice table to the left of the stage, however, after receiving our drinks and bread, we were asked if we would mind moving to a table behind us, so that they could seat a large party, and for our troubles they "comped" our drinks. We actually had a better view of the stage anyway.
We started off with Crabcakes, Beef Carpaccio and the Caprese salad. Everything was great, I had the Braciola which was outstanding and my wife had the filet (med rare)which was cooked to perfection....the baked potato however was a little undercooked but this place was great and we will definitely be going back.....3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a nice lunch with excellentHad a nice lunch with excellent service by Jess. Enjoyed a delicious Tuscan Dip sandwich which consisted of thinly-sliced tender roast beef, provolone cheese and roasted garlic rosemary aioli on a toasted Italian roll. The sandwich came with a side of au jus for dipping and French fries. The sandwich, au jus, and French fries arrived hot and were very filling. For dessert had a limoncello cheesecake which was very tasty and light. A complimentary basket of sliced Italian bread, with olive oil for dipping, was also provided.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWe really enjoyed the WalnutWe really enjoyed the Walnut Street Supper Club. The food was very good but the atmosphere was what made our dinner great. We went there before going to the theatre. Everyone there was aware of people with theatre plans and served us accordingly. Our waiter was great and it was fun to see the waiters and bartenders singing for us - and they were good too!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMI've had several fun nightsI've had several fun nights at Supper Club; it's fun & noisy, and it's a kick when your waiter or waitress gets to go up & sing. The food is fine, passable, but the real draw is the gimmick of having the wait staff double as the entertainment. And that's fun. (Our waitress was a hoot and a holler, and she made sure we made it out in time for our show.)3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWe loved the food, the atmosphereWe loved the food, the atmosphere of the restaurant is very pleasant - you can talk around the table and at the same time enjoy the singing. All waiters are singers with beautiful voices and you get to listen to variety of songs. The service is very good and it is fun to listen to your wiater/waitress to perform between the meals. Definitly will come back.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWe did not know what to expectWe did not know what to expect from a "supper club" but we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and experience. It's a perfect prelude to theatre and if you show your tickets you get a 20% discount on dinner - not too bad!
The only issue I had was when staff members were performing and guests were being seated simultaneously, the waitstaff spoke loudly to the diners which interrupted the ambiance of the performance.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWe found dinner there veryWe found dinner there very enjoyable and the concept is very interesting and the entertainment fun.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWaiters/Waitresses sing showWaiters/Waitresses sing show music while you dine. This was a disapointment as we had to leave just as it was starting.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMI visited the Walnut StreetI visited the Walnut Street Supper Club twice in a little over a week. My first visit was with some colleagues from a conference I attended. I returned later with my wife for a dinner.
We truly enjoyed the classy ambiance with white linen table cloths, dim lighting and singing by the wait staff. Our waiter, Ryan, greeted us warmly, advised us on a wine to match our dinner, and even brought a small sample before we chose the wine. The food arrived promptly, and was presented delightfully. What a delight to have ripe tomatoes in the Caprese salad in winter! Both pasta entrees were delicious and the dark chocolate cannoli with the fresh whipped cream topped off a great meal.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a nice lunch with excellentHad a nice lunch with excellent service by Anthony. There is music playing throughout on screens with stars from Motown, Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Judy Garland, etc. The menu is small but with enough choices from steak to fish to salads to mussels to satisfy all palates. Servers were very friendly & attentive. What makes this restaurant unique is that at certain intervals a host plays the piano with servers singing from opera to pop. We would have liked to hear more sets. The time between the sets was too long and should be more scheduled.12/12/2012 12:00:00 AM
