It is better to sit in the back outside if you want to have a conversation! The inside is fun, but can get too loud. The oysters are so good and this time I had clams and mussels for dinner-- yum! They also make excellent cocktails at the bar. The owner even gave a gift to my daughter and had the desert for all of us on the restaurant.

They are always the freshest and served at the perfect temperature. The servers are all terrific and make us feel welcome. Now if you are looking for fancy decor and a quiet place, this is not the right place for you! For great food and drink, hurry! Actually, the back patio is much quieter, so try that if noise bothers you. My husband had the scallop and mushroom fettuccini which he loves. I had the ahi, mâché and jicama salad which is a smaller portion and perfect for me following lots of oysters. For dessert, my husband just can't resist the brownie with ice cream. The oysters were incredible. We had entrees too, and a bottle of wine as well. The food and wine as a whole was fantastic. I had pre ordered lobsters for mothers day. Fresh from Main and cooked to perfection.We sat in on open aired room that gave the feeling of private dinning. We ordered caesar salads, fried polenta , grilled asperagus, garlic fries and 2 bottles of champagne. Now we know why. The food and service are outstanding. Very fresh delicious seafood is the star here and they have the best Lobster Mac and Cheese--with pancetta--I have ever had. And the service is outstanding. The entire staff from the hostesses who great you--to the servers, server assistants, runners and managers are all working hard to make sure your experience is a good one. They are all genuine, efficient and friendly. And they know their stuff--great wine and food recommendations. Between the food and our server Joelle it was the best restaurant experience we've had since we moved to the Bay Area. It was the perfect choice--informal atmosphere with a comfortable table. All the choices on the special 3-course menu were delicious. The cocktails and wine were also winners i.e., the Coral Chardonnay offered at the special price of $5.00 per glass was a nice touch. Our waitress was friendly but never hovered...and each dish was delivered at the right time--never rushed. Favorite Seafood Restaurant in the San Francisco Bay Area3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMBeyond Excellent!We went to the Yacht Club for a special occasion and the staff could not be friendlier or more hospitable. They really made the night something special and seemed genuinely interested in whether we were having a great time. The food was fantastic - especially the creme brulee which was the best I've ever eaten (and I'm a real creme brulee fanatic!) The chef even made a point of making sure that I knew which foods were gluten free - so many chefs act like food allergies are done just to annoy them! But this one didn't, he was extremely gracious and solicitous. Overall I couldn't say enough great stuff about the WC Yacht Club!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMOn the recommendation of aOn the recommendation of a local Walnut Creek friend and Loyalty member of your restaurant, we decided to join, also, as we had heard many good things about the Yacht Club food for years. Our first time to eat there was the day before St Patrick's Day (3/16) for a delightful lunch. With the Irish menu and attentive table service, we really enjoyed the dining experience. We will definitely return sometime in the near future to try more of the seafood.

I had scallops, which are touchy, but they were perfectly prepared and very tender. I like the fact that vegetables are on the menu aside from salad! We had to wait a bit for our waitperson to take our order and for the bill - long enough to notice but not long enough to become annoying. Way too much fun ADULT bar scene...lots of yachties and sailing folks. And landlubbers, like me and my friends who always sit at "my table" (love to Ellen and staff!), and have our frequent "girlfriend" dinners.
Start off with a specialty cocktail, some raw oysters, and chat for a bit. Then order YOUR favorite fish, just the way you like it. Oh fer gawd's sake, be sure to get that delicious side dish...au gratin potatoes. (hey, you saved carbs on eating fish.)
