  • "From the disapproving glare of the polyester clad Maitre D' upon my arrival to his astonished look when he learned I had actually made reservations for this restaurant, my experience at Wally's was nothing short of a Titanic size Easter Day disaster. The microwaved rolls were tired and chewy. My guest's Eggs Benedict were cold and plastic looking. In fact when the waiter was told the food was cold the Turtle's solution was to microwave the the food. My cooked Halibut was not that much better, but I like sushi. The Creme Brulee looked like burnt instant Jello pudding. Coffee was an afterthought. The poor Turtle should probably be returned to the Galapagos Islands to live out it's life since this restaurant's time has come and gone. "

The Dover sole got high marks as did the duck entree. The winner of the night were the soufflés as we had a total of four at the table. Very nice evening and liked the piano player as well."

But the best surprise was the amazing assortment of choices in dessert souffles -- if ONLY we could have tried all the flavors. It was difficult picking only two, but both we delightful. My only critique is that the lighting is a bit too low; it felt dangerous walking from the door to the table, even with the asstance of staff with a flashlight."

  • "The last time we visited Wally's was 25 years ago. It was outstanding then and I am pleased to find it is still outstanding. My husband took me here for my birthday and we were seated at a lovely booth. The service was attentive and the food was delicious. I had the lobster which was prepared out of the shell and was too much for me to finish but excellent. My husband had the house specialty Dover Sole and he thoroughly enjoyed it. The dinner was finished by a complimentary assortment of delicious desserts. Wally's son Michael greeted us as we departed and asked how we enjoyed dinner. It was a nice touch that made our visit to Wally's thoroughly enjoyable."

  • "We invited friends for dinner at Wally's knowing that the evening would be spectacular in every way. We asked to be seated in the beautiful and quiet Foyer Room with a mural painted with "olde" world charm, mirrors and etched glass. Dinner was delicious - from salads and escargot to entrees - pork tenderloin, steak, dove sole - to the fabulous soufflé desserts. Our waiter recommended a perfect wine. We had great service - as always - and what could have easily been a one hour dinner turned into three hours because we savored every bite and the room was so quiet we could carry on fun and meaningful conversations with our friends. One of our guests used a walker and staff helped her, as needed - very accommodating to her special needs."

We got there at 6:30 and my husband wanted the chicken, which he was told "we are out". It is shocking that they were out of chicken 1hour into dinner service. I’ve been at Wally’s several times and the quality of food and service has been always very consistent. There were four of us. We had the opportunity to try several dishes; fresh oyster on the half, tuna tartar, Caesar salad, specially the Dover Sole amending has been as consistent as always! For dessert we had banana foster soufflé, lava cake, (I Highly recommended) baked Alaska one of a kind! I highly recommend Wally’s if you’re up to having a great dining experience! At Wally’s they don’t just feed you, they pamper you!"

  • "California cuisine to me means more than fresh bread. Even fusion dishes do not include dumping a Japanese Cucumber salad on top of some Steelhead trout and claiming it to be fine dining. Although the rest of our table said they were hungry and fed nothing as being spectacular. The service was more than adequate the ambiance was Expensive Las Vegas rec room. I believe the restaurant was misrepresented. I am sure many would find the dining more than adequate if they were looking for that type of food. It could by an error in what I look for in California cuisine."

This time we celebrated a friend's birthday - and she loved every minute! We enjoyed prawn cocktails, the special endive salad with brie, pear, cranberries - best salad I've every enjoyed! Then on to our selection of seafood pasta, lobster and Wally's famous sole. Of course we had their amazing dessert soufflés - Wally's treated our "birthday girl" with a special plates of assorted desserts. We asked for a quiet table so that we could enjoy a good conversation and open gifts - and we got it! Lovely evening all around - wait staff fabulous! A very memorable evening!"
