Although, the filet was not superb, and the Caesar salad was a little heavy on the anchovy. The Calamari Balsamico was outstanding. Very elegant atmosphere-I suggested to my husband he should wear slacks vs. shorts, even in 100 degree weather. He did, and said he definitely would have felt out of place in shorts. We had the endive and arugala salads, Chilean sea bass, and short ribs. Everything was delicious and well presented. Service was exceptional! Corkage fee is $20. I had the Chilean Bass which melted in my mouth, another person had the short ribs and she said they were the best, and another had the filet which was tough for some reason but tasteful. We can't afford to go to restaurants this exquisite very often now that we are retired. But my, oh, my, it was really great to take advantage of Palm Springs Restaurant Week and get to enjoy Wally's Desert Turtle at such a reasonable price. The salads were large, beautiful to behold and also delicious. The duck was tender, not oily at all and a large enough portion I'll be enjoying some for lunch today. The sea bass was excellent also. We had reservations and were seated immediately upon arrival. Robert and Brooke, our service team, and their assistant (didn't learn his name) kept right on top of everything. Ambience was great, with live romantic piano music playing throughout most of the time we were there, Food was excellent - I had the calamari salad dish, which was the most tender squid dish I have ever experienced! We both ordered fish entrees: Sea Bass for my wife, salmon for myself. Both were very good. For dessert, the lava cake was spectacular, I highly recommend it if you like chocolate! Great atmosphere, oustanding, attentive service and wonderful food. Our server was friendly and helpful while not being overly intrusive. He somehow knew exactly when to come to the table. We never needed to ask for anything, it just seem to appear, such as another roll, more water, removing the dishes.
