Went for Sunday brunch. Food was very good. Service was professional and friendly - the main course was a touch slow coming out. Looking forward to trying it for dinner. A good addition to the limited choices of non-chain upscale dining out in the 'burbs.

It was our first time to Walker's. There were four persons in our party and we were not that impressed with the food. It is overpriced for what is being served comparing it to Old Town and DC restaurants. The server was excellent and accommodating considering they did not have four different items I tried to order off the menu. Supposedly they are changing the menu, but after reading the reviews on Open Table, it appears they have been going to change the menu for several weeks now. The appetizers were enjoyable, but he main courses were just average. Skip dessert - all three desserts were underwhelming and again not worth the price paid. Ambiance is great and the restaurant has alot going for it in Kingstowne. We will try it again.

Stumbled on this nice spot on a Friday evening by checking out Open Table's 1000 point reservations. Located in an office park area in Kingstown. Tough to find since the road isn't on Google maps yet but a phone call led to good directions. Walked into a bright and airy space and sat right down. Suburban teenage waiter was eager and pleasant. Our 7 year old added to the handful of kids already there. Magic Hat and an IPA on tap and a completely acceptable wine list. The food was a nice surprise though the portions were on the big-side. One appetizer is enough. The crab filled ravioli was excellent! This little gem is a case where the sum is greater then the total of the parts so I gave it 5 overall. 3 people for under 75. Can't beat it!

When I first saw Walker's Grill, I thought it was a sandwich joint. After looking on the web I realized it was more up scale, we were anxious to try. When we arrive I believe other families thought they same, there were several children there, I would have not taken my kids after looking at the website. This was not not a problem, just seemed unusual. The service was a little slow at first but improved. We couldn't decide what to order because everything on the menu sounded fantastic. Everything we ordered was great as well as the presentation. Over all nice and we will return to try other items on the menu!

Excellent local find that is able to compete with Founding Farmers! Finally, a "real" resturant in the suburbs. Fried green tomatoes were wonderful, very little breading and lots of taste! Bread basket was tasty, garlic butter a bit overwhelming, would have been nice with olive oil. Sean was a great waiter.

The food was excellent. The service program had some glitches. We got the ebullient presentation about being a LEED facility and the promise of the same sort of service. However, we had to flag the waiter down for a second round of drinks. The runner did not know who had ordered which entree plate and, when asked for fresh pepper, re-emerged from the kitchen with a small salad dressing dish with ground pepper. A manager then brought a pepper grinder to staisfy our needs. If they straighten out service, we would love to go back.

We went to Walker's to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food was terrific--the best we've had in quite a while. Our server was attentive, friendly, and helpful. The setting is quiet and peaceful. The restaurant is in a "green" building and goes to great lengths to support environmentally friendly, sustainable practices. All their vendors are selected with care--the dairy and eggs are from Lancaster County. In a neighborhood (Kingstowne) that's rife with chain restaurants, Walker's is a breath of fresh air. We're happy to have them as a neighbor!

I was disappointed by the restaurant but will give it another shot once they tweak their menu and correct what should be or not be on the menu. I ordered the Pasta Bocutoni which the menu stated should have freshly made tri-colored fettucini. Instead, they gave me a tube pasta. Pasta shapes make a difference in the taste and texture of a dish. I was not feeling it. Furthermore, when we asked the manager what the deal was, she just said they were in the midst of changing the menu and asked if it was ok. I don't like to disappoint people so I said it was great. YUCK. Really? Don't bait and switch me please. If you understand how to relate to a customer, ask me if I want something else THEN ask me if it was ok.

Finally, the Kingstowne/Franconia area is BLESSED with a truly wonderful restaurant. It's new; it's different; and it's perfect! After 3 visits it has become my favorite restaurant. Delicious food with unique flavor twists, wonderful wines, incredibly knowledgable wait staff, an owner and an executive chef who are justifiably proud to tell their story and an atmosphere that is inviting and comfortable. They are riding the crest of a long overdue environmentally responsible movement. Look around and you'll see nothing but smiling faces. Walkers Grille does not disappoint in any way. This restaurant is a gem and worthy of the support of our great neighborhood!

No other restaurant like this in the Kingstowne area! There's nothing but chain, fast-food, or pizza shops so Walker's is a welcomed change. It's a completely brand new restaurant. The inside is clean and modern with vibrant, earthy colors. There is outdoor seating and they said a covered out-door patio is on the way. The food was supurb! It wasn't your regular run-of-the-mill menu. There were lots of choices and the food was fresh and full of mouth-watering flavor! You could tell everything was home-made. The prices very reasonable. Great customer service. You can tell they want to please. The chef even comes out to speak with customers! Oh, and parking was easy. I plan on making this one of my favorite restaurant destinations.

This place is not a sandwich and breakfast "grill". This is a real resturant, with honest food of the highest quality. Been there about 4 times so far, always something different, never disappointed with the quality or taste. Always gets a "WOW". Servers can be a bit forgetful, room is a little echo-y, and the last time we went there were some really loud people on the outside patio yelling at the top of their lung. But the food is top notch and will bring us back. Just get over the name.

Service was excellent. However, food leaves some tweaking. Fish and Chips are outstanding, but I had a burger once -- tough and chewy and I left 3/4 of the Tejas Fajita salad I ordered during my second trip. The "grilled" shrimpt were cold and TASETELESS, as in ZERO flavor. The shrimp were tough; yet, tasted undercooked. Carmelized onions and roasted red peppers detracted from a salad that could have been saved with the utilization of scallions and warm grilled shrimp that actually tasted like shrimp. We'll go back; neighbors want to try Walkers with us. Hopefully, my third entree will be "the charm."

Went on a Saturday evening for dinner with my hubby and 2 yr old. It was kid friendly and the kid menu (although a little pricey compared to other restaurants) the quality of the food makes up for it. The chicken tenders came out fresh and the fries were clearly "homemade" and natural. The restaurant's philosophy is to be environmentally friendly and the food is organic, fresh, and locally grown. Our meals were excellent. The price is reasonable considering the quality of the food. A great place if health conscious. The service was reasonable, our waitress was pleasant. We did not have to wait an hour for the food, but you have to wait - after all it is fresh and not a fast food joint. Will absolutely go back again.

Went to Walker's for Mother's Day Brunch. I was very much looking forward to dining here, as the special prix fixe menu they offered for the day was quite impressive, but was maybe perhaps a bit much for the staff to handle. Every course of our meal was slow to come out (we had been seated for about 20 minutes before we received bread; another 10-15 before we received a shrimp cocktail). The staff member running the carving station seemed to have no experience carving meat - my lamb was fatty and hacked in chunks. When we finally received our entrees, only 5 of our 6 showed up...the 6th didn't show up for another 10 minutes. This could be a decent place, but the service definitely needs to be tightened up.

We went here for a Mother's Day brunch. Although we made a reservation we still needed to wait close to 10 minutes to be seated. The staff were very friendly and found this to be very kid friendly. The main courses on the set menu were delicious. Excellent french toast, waffles and pancakes. I found my sides to be dry - as if they were sitting for some time on the plate. We found that while the food was good, service was lacking. There were other tables that were seated later than we but received their main courses before ours. There was a carving station but the wait staff did not tell us to simply get up and head over there. Finally, we waited way too long for our check. This restaurant has enormous potential with better service.

We went to Walker's Grille on Mothers Day. The food (Chicken & Waffles and Pancakes) took 45 minutes to arrive for our children. 15 minutes later the adults food arrived. My 6 year old son received more food than his father. The waffles should be sent to Afghanistan to be bolted to the bottom of tanks and Humvees to prevent damage from I.E.D's. The honey garlic butter was terrific and that almost made up for the poor quality of the waffles. The chicken was cooked to perfection, and the sauces and other courses were delicious. The owner needs take a hard look at his staff. The manager was walking around aimlessly and running food while the food runners/bus boys were overwhelmed. The kitchen staff has to get serving out quicker.

I had the blackened salmon and my wife had the filet-very tasty food...however it took more than 65 minutes to receive our food. A lot of tables around us as well seemed to waiting long times for their food. As this restaurant gains experience, I'm sure they will improve. If it wasn't for the length of time to receive our dinners, i would upgrade the overall rating from 3 stars to 4 stars.
