We ate at the bar where we met Rob, the bar manager- who is a gem. We ordered the stuffed artichoke hearts which were spectacular. We had the chicken and steak, which were
both excellent as were the potatoes...the sauces are memorable and we really appreciated the generous amount of sauce that came with each order. The green salad featured candied Meyer lemon peel, a bright sweet/sour taste that worked well. Sea scallops and the roasted 5 Spice chicken were perfectly prepared. I still think a roasted chicken is one of the best indicators of a kitchens' ability, and this was one of the best. Service was personable and professional. We are a group of 4 guys that grew up in Waban, but havent lived there for years - The attraction of a fine dining destination, where in the past there hadnt been more than the famous Barry's Deli and the old Waban News (Old fashioned lunch counter/sandwich stand), was a novelty. Our memories of the old neighborhood were dashed, in the most positive way, with engaging and innovative cuisine (definitely - try the duck or lobster pot pie, if on the menu), excellent wine pairings, and even desserts. The place is tiny and we were pleased to have had a reservation. The scene was lively and cosmopolitan, while still having a neighborhood feel.
