Totally yummy!Everything was creative and delicious. Staffing sincere and helpful. NOISY5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome food, super friendlyAwesome food, super friendly staff, tastefully designed space. Every dish was a piece of culinary art. A unique blend of a neighborhood spot and a world class cuisine. Highly highly recommend. Make reservations well in advance - I am obviously not the only one feeling this way! Absolutely lovely, enjoyable experience. Thank you Waban Kitchen!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMThe best service everI've eaten in a lot of places, and the waitress here was top notch. Also, the food was great, and dessert was to die for.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat spotThey're terrific. Wish they had more space as room between two person tables now down to six inches. Commented to them on this and response was ' you're lucky we added tables or you wouldn't be here' - not the most customer friendly remark. Still food and service very good.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstandingBest meal I've had in quite awhile. Flavors & textures of scallops with black quinoa & wild mushrooms were outstanding.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful food. The staffWonderful food. The staff is terrific. Always enjoyable experience.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMNew GemWe liked this place--interesting food. Tables a bit close. Good vibe on a Tuesday night.
Strange comment from waitress: "Your entrees will take from 30--45 minutes since they are cooked to order so you might want to order an appetizer." I thought this was a bit forward.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had the tasting menu. EveryWe had the tasting menu. Every course was delicious, starting with the just-picked taste of the salad greens and the perfectly poached egg. Our server was lovely - friendly and attentive, but not hovering. We'll definitely be back.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time here since KouzinaFirst time here since Kouzina (the previous restaurant) closed. Heard a mixture of positive and negative reviews, but liked it very much. Redesign of seating area is a plus.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMDouble yumWe were excited to try Waban kitchen for the first time, as we love 51 Lincoln.
We ate at the bar where we met Rob, the bar manager- who is a gem. We ordered the stuffed artichoke hearts which were spectacular. We had the chicken and steak, which were
both excellent as were the potatoes...the sauces are memorable and we really appreciated the generous amount of sauce that came with each order. Also, loved the plum sorbet...fresh, ultra-lite and a perfect finish. Can't wait to return.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMCompletely satisfiedWaban Kitchen lived up to their billing in the Boston Globe review. Food was excellent,
service was at the same level. The Wegyu Beef tartare, Perfect green salad, and prosciutto, feta flatbread with arugala were perfectly done. The green salad featured candied Meyer lemon peel, a bright sweet/sour taste that worked well. Sea scallops and the roasted 5 Spice chicken were perfectly prepared. I still think a roasted chicken is one of the best indicators of a kitchens' ability, and this was one of the best. Service was personable and professional. Dessert was plum sorbet, and lemon merangue pie, both were delightful.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was great - fresh,The food was great - fresh, creative, healthy and great presentation. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and that made our night. We can't wait to go back.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic as always! CheerfulFantastic as always! Cheerful and professional staff. On your tongue - we sat at the bar as the tables
Against the wall are not conducive to
Conversation - my one disappointment
With the restaurant is the seating arrangements!
Bar was very suitable for two but would not
Go there with more people unless I could be
Guaranteed the table for 4 in the window!!!
All in all however - food was heavenly - wine list
Great choices - service was just fine -4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMTuesday is their night forTuesday is their night for their "tastings menu." We both tried it on "Hawaiian night" - food was unusual and outstanding.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was excellent and theFood was excellent and the service was exceptional. Table seating is too close, I did not feel that I had enough space to physically relax.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMTrout and 5 spice chickenTrout and 5 spice chicken were 2 of the best meals I've ever tasted. My daughter and I didn't leave a crumb on our plate.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was my second visit toThis was my second visit to Waban Kitchen. it's a great little neighborhood spot with a lot of vibe. Even on a miserable rainy Wednesday night the restaurant was full. There were several parties of young people celebrating birthdays which added to the cheerful atmosphere. The food is really good and the wait staff is friendly, informed and attentive. The only negative is the noise level. Conversation can be a little difficult.
I'm a long time patron of their parent restaurant 51 Lincoln. Waban Kitchen is a wonderful casual miniature.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMTables close together, andTables close together, and very loud, but unbelievable food. After 51 Lincoln, Jeff Fournier has done it again. Creative menu, great execution. We'll be back.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a wonderful meal at WabanHad a wonderful meal at Waban Kitchen.

The decor is lovely.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways wonderfulWaban Kitchen is fast becoming one of my favorites. The wine list is excellent, they suggest pairings which are remarkable. The homemade ice cream is to die for. The menu is creative, beautiful, and absolutely delicious. The service is friendly, professional, and unobtrusive.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was awesome. Had theFood was awesome. Had the trout. Shared lemon meringue pie.
Only problem I had is seating is a little tight.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food amd service! ThereGreat food amd service! There were so many great menu choices. I had the 5 spice chicken which was moist and delicious. I started with a salad that had a green goddess dressing that was amazing! I thought the wine list had a lot of good choices at reasonable prices. Our waitress was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu items. My friend and I wanted to share some dishes and these items came to the table, divided on 2 separate plates, which i liked. The restaurant is small. There's not a lot of room between the tables and once the restaurant got full, it became a little loud. Still, I would highly recommend it...cool vibe, Boston-quality food at a reasonable price!3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst timers....It was our first time there and the food was really fresh and well prepared. Great food! The service was pleasant and attentive. Great service! But the tables are very close and make dinner conversation difficult given the proximity of the table to your right and left.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first visit toThis was our first visit to Waban Kitchen and we are serious foodies....LOVED this menu, ingredients so expertly prepared and exquisitely presented, you savor the whole experience.

6 stars for Waban Kitchen! we'll be back often....3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMTuesdays are tasting nights..reallyTuesdays are tasting nights..really enjoyed Eastern European night with fabulous Hungarian Goulash!3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the best restaurantsOne of the best restaurants I've been to in a long, long time. I took my brother & sister-in-law and they were extremely impressed with everything. The line chef even came out to ask us if we enjoyed our meal. And our server, Nicole, was well versed on the menu and even suggested we try one of the specials. Turned out to be an excellent choice. We'd go back in a heartbeat.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had heard from friendsWe had heard from friends about Waban Kitchen and I drive by it quite often.
Everything was delicious! From the appetizers, small plates and main course.
Wait staff was ever so personable and helpful. LOVED the lemon meringue pie!
Will pass the recommendation on! And we will be back again!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMa lot of fun--unusual buta lot of fun--unusual but well designed combinations of main dishes with unusual side dishes....3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMHad an enjoyable eating experienceHad an enjoyable eating experience .Nicole, our server was superb, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic.Only gripe was the cost of the Pinot Grigio at $12.00 a glass. The entire bottle costs only $14.99.Food interesting and tasty; the pastry base of the lemon meringue was somewhat tough. Will certainly recommend despite the closeness of the tables and the noise.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMMy whole dining party reallyMy whole dining party really enjoyed all parts of their meals. The lemon meringue pie was fantastic!3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious food! The food was delicious! But, expect to wait a little longer for your food as it is cooked fresh.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMSeats were too close togetherSeats were too close together so we opted for a spot at the bar. Great service! Wish the menu was a tad more extensive. We will be going back!3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMInteresting menu with lotsInteresting menu with lots of well-executed dishes. It would be great to see more salads added to the menu.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBright spot!My 2nd visit to Waban Kitchen - fantastic! They've started adding wine pairings/suggestions with meals - well done! They didn't have any vegetarian choices on the menu this time, but made up a beautiful primavera for us. The bread with pesto is fantastic. So many delicious choices on the menu, it's so hard to decide! Excellent combinations of textures, flavors, colors. Unusual takes on familiar foods. And beautifully served. Nice beer and wine options. And the staff is unusually friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back. They're going to need more tables.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMBack to the Future - Waban KitchenWe had heard Waban Kitchen was good. Our experience was excellent. We are a group of 4 guys that grew up in Waban, but havent lived there for years - The attraction of a fine dining destination, where in the past there hadnt been more than the famous Barry's Deli and the old Waban News (Old fashioned lunch counter/sandwich stand), was a novelty. Our memories of the old neighborhood were dashed, in the most positive way, with engaging and innovative cuisine (definitely - try the duck or lobster pot pie, if on the menu), excellent wine pairings, and even desserts. The place is tiny and we were pleased to have had a reservation. The scene was lively and cosmopolitan, while still having a neighborhood feel. Not our olde towne !3/8/2013 12:00:00 AMWK has a great spirited vibeWK has a great spirited vibe with diners enjoying themselves. The salmon dish was cooked perfectly and the sides were a nice complement. The service here is professional and you are well taken care of.3/6/2013 12:00:00 AMwe've been twice and lovewe've been twice and love the atmosphere. our first visit, the mussels and butter poached scallops were fabulous as was the wine list. on the second visit, both of our entrees (chef's famous bolognese and fluke) were extremely salty and borderline inedible, though we didn't complain as the service was impeccable as were the special apps. perhaps it was an off day or a different chef. we will still give it another try.2/27/2013 12:00:00 AMLove the food. Staff is terrific.Love the food. Staff is terrific. Wish it was the kind of a place you could walk in and get a table. A real neighborhood restaurant. I do unsderstand why it is so hard to get in to.2/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Waban Kitchen is lovely. The Waban Kitchen is lovely. The bartenders and staff are incredibly friendly, and the food is great. They did a wonderful job making the place feel homey, comfy, but also very nice. I have been there several times and will continue to go back!2/1/2013 12:00:00 AMThere is a reason that WabanThere is a reason that Waban Kitchen is busy every night that it is open, with many parking places in the vicinity full, whereas they formerly were not in the evening. The food is truly delicious and attractively presented. Perhaps a bit pricey, but we did enjoy our food. The wait staff is friendly, courteous and responsive. The decor is attractively contemporary. Impressively, the noise level is well under control even as the tables and bar filled up. We will surely return for another meal as well as recommend Waban Kitchen to friends.1/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThe atmosphere is invitingThe atmosphere is inviting with the exposed brick walls, a vibrant bar area, contemporary artwork by the chef, and soft tone lighting. The food is delicious, and the service attentive. It exudes bistro, but the prices aren't for everyday dining in the suburbs, especially the wine list. The menu is limited with 5 entree selections (although there usually is a dinner special) and can be tricky if you aren't dining with someone adventurous, given the chicken dish is a strongly flavored "5-spice".11/21/2012 12:00:00 AMFabulous all around!!!Love this place! I hesitate giving it the review it deserves because
I fear we will never get in again. Jeff outdid himself with this place. Other than the
Hostess it is excellent! Servers are friendly and very knowledgeable. Bartender is great!!!
Food is fantastic! Ambience is warm and welcoming. What a fantastic spot!!!i11/20/2012 12:00:00 AM
