It has a comfortable feel about it in its several different dining areas. It's hard to choose which of them is most inviting. We were there at lunch during one of the rare warm, sunny days, suggesting their backyard patio, a fabulous venue.
From the hostess' initial greeting through to the end, the staff were prompt and nicely attentive.
The menu afforded a good variety. WA Frost, like many other restaurants, prides itself on purchasing locally grown foods. The beef is excellent.

The menu was adventurous enough for me and conservative enough for my girlfriend, and the waitstaff was great at recommending wine throughout the meal. Serving sizes were great and those mini-desserts that they have are the perfect way to end a meal. Their share-able plates were more than enough to start off with (we had the mussels) and the place was busy enough were you felt like the restaurant was alive but not to overwhelming where service was compromised. The salmon was perfectly cooked, and the dessert was an extremely clever "bar" of shortbread, caramel nuts and chocolate with homemade chai ice cream. Service: very attentive.

However when we arrived we felt a bit overdressed. Many of the other patrons were wearing jeans or even more casual attire. That may not seem like a long time, but both my husband and I have been in the service industry and know that our server should have showed up sooner. The reason i gave a 4 for ambiance is that the tables are awfully close together. The service was friendly and yet very professional. Holiday brunches out can be very hectic and our group of eight felt that we were having a special and unhurried Sunday Brunch outing. I love the ambiance, it is like walking back in time in the well appointed drawing room of F. WE had an amzing evening even though I was suffering badly with a fever! Both the Steak I had and the chicken we had were amazing! We had oysters as an app, and were a bit disappointed in them being cold as we were used to warm ones and didn't enjoy them. But thats strictly personal taste. The winter salad was phenominal as was the kit kat dessert. Overall an amazing restaurant in a very cool neighborhood that I'd highly recommend for a romantic evening with that special someone. Went there to celebrate my girlfriends birthday and our waiter sang to her. What we didn't know was that he is opera trained and was incredible! The whole restaurant applauded! Needless to say, he received a large tip! Can't wait to go in the spring/summer when the patio is open! Frost continues to be my favorite neighborhood restaurant (among a field of lovely choices) and I am happy whether I go for brunch, lunch, dinner, or happy hour in the bar. WA Frost is beautifully decorated, and when I walked in the host was very respectful to me. He knew his customer service.
I chose the tasting menu, as it was new. I did not choose the wine pairings. I had never done a tasting menu so this was new to me. If you are looking for a variety of tastes and want an adventure, I highly recommend the tasting course.
WA Frost also offers smaller entrees. My friend had the pheasant sausage, it was excellent. The winter lettuce salad was also very good.
Our server was attentive and was great at making suggestions.
