We arrived at our reserved time and were seated at a nice table. Drinks and appetizers were good and initial service was fine. After the appetizers, we waited nearly 30 minutes for our entrees. The catch of the day was seared grouper. Unfortunately, it was served cold as it obviously had been sitting for a while. The waitress took the entree back and had the chef replace it. About 15 minutes later, my entree was replaced with the seared fish entree I ordered. Overall, nice restaurant, with good ambience. Pricey for the quality/quantity of food, but the great view offsets the negatives.

This was an excellent anniversary date night for my wife and I! Beautiful room that fits with the historic Grove Park Inn charm with excellent views of Asheville. The food was outstanding and the smaller entree size left plenty of room for the delectable desserts. Highly recommended!

We were celebrating our anniversary. Hotel itself was packed - had a hard time finding a place to park. We were directed to a deck which was full - all leading to being about 20 minutes late for our reservation. Service started out great, very attentive. After the 1st course, waitress got busy and service was less attentive. Never got a 2nd glass of wine that was ordered - ended up not having time for dessert, as we had a show downtown. Food was excellent and view is wonderful. Probably will not be back, but will go back for other restaurants. All in all - it was okay.

Good food and a pleasant atmosphere make for an enjoyable evening. We did have two very different experiences when dining here on back to back evenings. On the first evening, my husband was given a gluten free menu with very limited options. On the second evening, when told about the need for a gluten free menu, our server simply said that the chef would be able to accommodate any menu item and adapt it to be gluten free. This turned out to be the case, and he had a much better experience the second night. In fact we both did, and it was all because of the professionalism and knowledge of the server. The food was equally good, but the dining experience was much different!

The food was excellent! My compliments to the chef. We chose to try the sampler which had several appetizer portion dishes all with local and fall season ingredients. It was incredible and I would recommend and would definitely choose it again. The service was amazing - never wanted for anything and super nice and pleasant attitudes! It was cozy and romantic setting for anyone looking for that kind of special occasion dinner, it would be a wonderful choice. Highly recommend this restaurant if you couldn't tell already!

It was my husband and my anniversary I called days in advance to request a table with a view and got put in the corner and only was able to partially see a view. The good was just above average. Would say it was an ok experience but not to much above average for fine dining.

To celebrate my 50th birthday, I wanted to dine somewhere special. I decided to give Vue 1913 a try - and I wasn't disappointed. Tucked in the back of the first floor of the Grove Park Inn, Vue 1913 delivers everything you'd expect from the renown resort. The views of the Blue Ridge mountains were phenomenal, and the atmosphere was just perfect for intimate dining. The servers were attentive and obliging when it came to making gluten-free suggestions and adjustments to the menu. And the food was... wow! The breast of roast duck I ate practically melted in my mouth. It was amazing. According to the server, they see mostly tourists at Vue 1913. Asheville locals need to try this gem of a restaurant!

The food was amazing! The scenery, ambience, lighting, elegance and presentation set the perfect mood for my soon to be fiancée and I. Our server, Amy, was so patient and kind with us. She described in detailed every aspect of our dinner choice which made it all the more scrumptious and a delicacy. The request I put in on my reservation was on point and I was not dissapointed. Overall I was satisfied with choosing this fine, upscaled, customer valued restaurant. This location would be excellent and appropriate for any special occasion.

We have had the pleasure of staying at the Grove Park Inn several times over the past years. This was our first visit to Vue1913. The food was wonderful with great recommendations from the staff for both food and wine. The lobster was exceptional as was the duck, both perfectly prepared and presented. Although we dined too late to enjoy the view on this occasion, the mountain views from the Grove Park are sensational. I highly recommend this restaurant anytime you are in Asheviile.

Way more relaxed than its former self, Horizon's! Everything was great. Only reason I did not give 5 stars, the service is slightly off. In a place such as this, a guest should never ask for anything or track down a server for something more. Wait staff should always be attentive, available and offering.

I miss the former Horizons Dining Room......Vue can't seem to decide if wants to be a fine dining destination, or mid-range restaurant. The menu choices lean toward fine dining with Kobe beef entrees included, yet the noisy cafeteria atmosphere doesn't match. My filet was delicious and perfectly prepared, but my wife's trout was over cooked, almost mushy, and we were disappointed not to see a wedge or any green lettuce salad on the menu. We'll try the restaurant again, probably on a less busy weeknight. The restaurant web site offers valet parking, yet the parking attendants told us the valet area was full and not available. Perhaps part of my disappointment in the restaurant stems from my problems with the hotel parking.

We found the wine list notable and had the 2008 Lachini Pinot Noir which was delicious. The corn and crab soup was rich and tasty. The lobster pasta was good but portion was a bit small. The fish special, a sauteed Corvina filet, was also expertly prepared and seasoned.

Hmmm, just reading other reviews...the service was good, the food was good but not outstanding and certainly dated, but generally a much older crowd so that's normal for that age group as is the high price for old fashioned cuisine. They are serving their market. Older friends drag us to their fav places to rave about meat n mash...there are many great restaurants in Asheville, we were staying at the Grove for work and it was my wife's birthday. To be fair we enjoyed it and would do again. But the rest of the evening's we'll be in Asheville for dining. A note to the wine prices in other reviews, we had a bottle of Orin Swift's The Prisoner, retail about $37 which we'd drink at home, here $95. Of course I knew this. It is what it is.

Everything was wonderful. From from the staff who knew our name when we walked in the door and continue to use it throughout the evening, to the food that was delicious (can't speak more highly of the Kobe beef) to the finishing touches of them remembering it was our anniversary. It was a completely wonderful experience and the view is spectacular of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Food was quite good but the rest was kind of a bust. Asked for window table when reserved (24th Anniversary dinner) and got an ok table. Had to asked to be moved because cologne of elderly patron next to use was overwhelming. They moved us one table. We thought the wine list, while extensive, was way overpriced. Would recommend driving into Asheville to anyone staying at the Inn in the future. Do drinks on the porches and watch the sunset and then go elsewhere for dinner.

Wonderful view. The restaurant was not crowded based on the total occupancy of the hotel. All the meals were very good but they had difficulty satisfying the vegan/gluten free requirement of one of the diners. They did go over and above by providing that diner with an outstanding salad and gluten free rolls which made up for the main entrée.

The food was okay. We had the corn and crab bisque. It didn't have a lot of flavor. We also had the filets. They were well-cooked and the mushroom sure was excellent. The potato side dish have an overpowering amount go garlic. The service was very good. All in all, it was a good meal but nothing that we couldn't have easily replicated at home and not in keeping, overall, with what you would expect at the Grove Park Inn. We wouldn't go back to this restaurant--particularly not for the prices they charge.

I was glad to see the changes to this restaurant- more lively, less stuffy. more accessible. Our very poslished waitress told us the specials. One was surf and turf: lobster tail and filet mingon with shaved truffes. I planned to share it with my niece. I love lobster (Red Lobster's is as good as any) and order it frequently. THis lobster tail was actually mushy and mealy- obviously frozen. Awful. And true, I should have asked the price of the entree, and the server should have told us the price. even without asking THe bill came and I discovered the entree was $95!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Horrible. Never again.

The setting was elegant at the Grove Park Inn. When we arrived at Vue, the scenery through the windows caught our attention. It was magnificent. There was a larger party celebrating a birthdat near our table, which made the noise level too much. But, the service was professional, the food was tasty, the wine selection was vast, and the ambience was fine. I felt that the meal portions should be a little larger. The prices were a little high. But, all in all, a great place for a romantic getaway or special occasion.

Situated at the end of a very long hall at the Omni Grove Park Inn, Vue 1913 has spectacular views, top-notch service, and delicious food! My husband had the lamb tenderloin; I had the lobster pasta. Both were beautifully presented and delightful to taste. We were served by three very attentive waitpersons, and the executive chef came to our table to welcome and thank us for coming to Vue 1913. We were the first diners to arrive so for a time we had a private dining room, with an amazing view. Once others arrived, it still felt like a private dining room, as the tables are that far apart and the other diners that far away from us. It was a lovely evening.

We wanted to add a special evening dining experience to our overnight stay at the Grove Park Inn. We had looked over the restaurant description before we made our reservations - which the hotel will make for you when you register for a stay. The restaurant atmosphere was very nice, scenic view of the mountains which was enhanced for us by a great sunset. Wonderful staff, they really set the tone for your dining evening. The food was good, high quality, small portions. But, expensive, not what I would expect to pay for this food. But, overall, the evening was great and was in keeping with our stay.
