    For a wedding reception, social affair or corporate event, we offer the possibility of exclusive use of the restaurant. We can accommodate up to 70 guests for a seated dinner and 175 guests for a cocktail reception and provide the full attention of our entire staff.

VOLT offers guests a menu of modern American cuisine. “The focus of our cuisine is based on classic flavor combinations, creating sophisticated dishes that emphasize purity and seasonal flavors that are based on fundamental and innovative cooking techniques.” said Voltaggio. VOLT’s relationship with local artisan farmers ensures availability of products to fulfill the philosophy behind the menu, in a refined, historic venue where classic meets modern. By design, the restaurant follows along the original footprint of the mansions first floor parlors. Both the 38 seat main dining room and the bar/lounge open off the foyer. The original mosaic tile in the foyer was the inspiration behind the warm monochromatic color pallet that adorns the finishes in VOLT. Private dining can be hosted in the conservatory offering views of the expansive courtyard. The 700 square foot kitchen afforded space to include up to 20 guests.Continued

  • "Mix of flavors in each entree was outstanding and very creative. I loved the variety and quality of ingredients. The staff were competent and very friendly. Overall a happy experience for our group of three diners with varying gustatory and nutritional needs (one liked fatty meats, the other was more adventurous but less keen on red meat, and the third needed much less calories than the rest, which is why the variety and small portions worked for us). The only flaw was a bit of a wait for our reserved table (15 minutes) and maybe the very loud group of diners next to us. Went in on a Wednesday night at 8pm; going back to try the brunch."

  • "It was a good experience of a multiple course dinner of artistically presented dishes. The menu offered both a fixed price meal and a la carte. We selected from the a la carte menu and the kitchen was flexible in providing vegetarian food for one of our party by adapting some items on the menu. The wait staff was making an obvious effort to meet the standards of that class of restaurant however our general impression was that they were amateurs based on their general awkwardness and hesitation. When one of the wait staff knocked over a glass, flooding the table, they did do some clean up, but no apology was offered by any of them and eventually we had to ask them to replace the beverage. The food was not as good as we had hoped for."

  • "We celebrated our 16th anniversary there. What a fantastic culinary experience it was. I was tempted to select items off the a la carte menu but we went with the tasting menu because the items on it were so tempting and interesting. You've never tasted oysters like that ...or flounder sashimi with pickled fennel and vinaigrette....and the short rib was just to die for....and the wine pairings were so apt...it was a demonstration in how far a pairing can go towards bringing out the subtle tastes in both the food and the wine. We bought the book and we can't wait to take friends and family along next time."

  • "Excellent quality - fit for foodies! We enjoyed the tasting menu. We substituted one or two regular menu items for a few tasting menu items. The food was excellent and the service outstanding. The pea soup was fresh, delicious and summery. We even received a token gift at the end of the meal - some nice baked items. I wasn't a huge fan of my dessert though."

  • "Leave your preconceived notions at home, because a meal at VOLT will prove to be wonderful and surprising! We ordered off the a la carte menu, which uses fewer descriptors than the tasting menu options. As such, a description of "English peas, crabmeat, buttermilk" turns out to be a wonderful pea soup. Or "chocolate, caramel, sesame" on the dessert menu turns out to be white chocolate custards (much like a panna cotta) with caramel sauce and sesame tuiles. Still delightful, but like I said, do not make assumptions about what you get. All of our dishes were fantastic! Because the menu changes often, I won't make specific recommendations for ordering, but you will not be disappointed eating at VOLT! Plus, the staff is outstanding."

  • "This was a late anniversary dinner for my wife and I. We are both Top Chef fans, and had wanted to try Bryan's food for a long time. We were not disappointed in any way. What a remarkable experience, in all aspects. We had the regular tasting menu, and they graciously replaced a dish due to a food allergy--the replaced dish was one of the highlights of the meal. Among the other highlights: the fluke, the calamari bolognese, and the orange creamsicle (which was prepared in liquid nitrogen). Bryan wasn't there, but Graeme was, and he has considerable skill. The entire staff was courteous and professional, and they seemed to really enjoy their work. We are very much looking forward to the next visit: sitting at Table 21. Bravo!"

  • "My sister, mother and I went for our July birthdays. When I looked online at the menu, I was confused...but they explain it well at the restaurant when you arrive. The food was interesting and beautifully plated. The only items we got that we didn't like: I tried the Waygu beef short ribs and I had never had that and maybe it was just too fatty and not to my liking, and my sister got the rhubarb dessert, it was NOT good. Best items we had: the LOBSTER, oh my goodness! Also loved the chicken, and the green onion macaroon (which was a compliment of the chef item) was very good. Overall it was a unique, wonderful experience that I think is a once in a lifetime kind of thing because of the price."

Fluke sashimi, oysters, halibut, squid-ink pasta, beef short rib and chocolate dessert. Each course was beautifully presented and tasted excellent. Service, as always, was spot on. The sommelier, TJ, was very knowledgeable and helped us select the perfect bottle of Pinot Noir to accompany the menu. We will definitely return."

The food, we went with the tasting menu, was very interesting, lots of ingredients that we do not recognize, so it was fun to learn new things and taste new things. The best dish was the clam chowder and the beef, or they were SO good. But 6 entries were a lot of food, i was definitely trying very very hard towards the end. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. I have never seen so many people coming and going and changing dinnerware for us after each dish. It was pricy but fun, and definitely worth trying it out."

  • "On a vacation trip to D.C. from Minneapolis, we made the hour drive to Volt. Yes, the 'Top Chef' connection drew us. We indulged ourselves with a seating at the Chef's Table, Table 21, and experienced a once-in-a-lifetime 21-course tasting menu with a 7-pour wine flight. Everything was exquisitely presented and delicious. Some courses - like the cucumber/buttermilk appetizer and the lobster - I will never forget. The service was truly outstanding (hopefully you'll be lucky enough to get Alex). What a night!"

That's when I thought Brunch at Volt would be a great experience with less of an impact on the pocketbook. I was right. It was a great way to introduce ourselves to Volt for a fraction of the dinner price. We were all (four of us dining) very pleased. Not a complaint here. My only complaint was not with the restaurant itself, but some of the other customers that came in after us. I never understood why someone would come to a fine dining establishment with a well respected and established chef making the menu calls and insist on changing the dishes that he has prepared. Crazy! Enjoy as its designed!"

  • "I was so looking forward to this restaurant as a Top Chef fan. The food was pretty but not very good. The menu lists all kinds of ingredients but it doesn't tell us what we are eating. We had to ask our waitress (who at the age of 18) didn't seem very sure herself of what we were eating. Volt is too busy making the plate look pretty instead of delicious. The desserts were probably the most disappointing. My husband had the apple dessert and the sweet cream was Inedible. I had the rhubarb and it was anything but a dessert. I bit into a bitter piece of rhubarb and I didn't even want to try the rest. Very disappointing."

  • "It was my third visit to Volt. This one was not quite as memorable as the two previous engagements. Although the staff was rather attentive and proper, the atmosphere serene, and the food elegant, but very small portions. I understand the concept of small portions, but size the plate in proportion to what you are serving. The service was timely between courses ( 4 in all) and the richness of the food left us feeling satisfied. I would only recommend this establishment to people who understand the "small portion" concept of elegant cuisine. I can only give this visit a "good" rating and may not visit there again for a while."
