    VOLT is available for private parties and our dedicated dining team is on hand to assist in planning your event. Everything from menu selection to wine pairings can be custom designed for a memorable occasion.

    We offer a number of settings for your private event.

    The Conservatory is available for parties of up to 12 guests.
    Audio/visual capabilities are available in the conservatory.

    Chef's Dining Room can be reserved for parties of up to 20 guests.

    The lounge may be available for larger parties.

    For a wedding reception, social affair or corporate event, we offer the possibility of exclusive use of the restaurant. We can accommodate up to 70 guests for a seated dinner and 175 guests for a cocktail reception and provide the full attention of our entire staff.

Off street parking is also available in the Church Street Deck - located at 17 E. Church Street. Directions to entrance on Church Street: From Market Street, take a right onto Church Street, then immediate left into parking garage.

VOLT offers guests a menu of modern American cuisine. “The focus of our cuisine is based on classic flavor combinations, creating sophisticated dishes that emphasize purity and seasonal flavors that are based on fundamental and innovative cooking techniques.” said Voltaggio. VOLT’s relationship with local artisan farmers ensures availability of products to fulfill the philosophy behind the menu, in a refined, historic venue where classic meets modern. By design, the restaurant follows along the original footprint of the mansions first floor parlors. Both the 38 seat main dining room and the bar/lounge open off the foyer. The original mosaic tile in the foyer was the inspiration behind the warm monochromatic color pallet that adorns the finishes in VOLT. Private dining can be hosted in the conservatory offering views of the expansive courtyard. The 700 square foot kitchen afforded space to include up to 20 guests.Continued

Better deal is to pick your favorites from the a la carte menu and choose a wine from the well stocked cellar."

  • "Great food and a great experience. We requested a nice table for a special occasion and they gave us the best one in the house. The service was impeccable. They have a very expansive wine list. Regarding the food, they serve tasting dishes that are a little bigger than tapas. The dishes are innovative and challenge the palate. This is a great place if you appreciated a chef's willingness to be innovative are board with the usual offerings of steakhouses. We will definitely return to Volt and will look forward to the chef's next round of inventive dishes."

  • "Having watched Brian Voltaggio on Top Chef and Top Chef Masters, I expected a food experience. Volt surpasses everything I imagined. From the front of the house to the pass, everything was beautifully orchestrated. The food rivaled anything I have eaten in New York or in many European cities. This was fine dining with flair. It was especially notable that I was not with my husband but with an old friend who was in Frederick on business. I drove from Central Virginia to share a birthday dinner. Many restaurants treat 2 women differently than a perceived couple. Happily, Volt staff treated us exactly the same as any other diners. It is a wonderful restaurant and I can't wait to try Brian's other restaurants in DC."

  • "We were very disappointed with our recent visit for brunch. It just seems that Volt has lost the edge it once had and that someone has taken their eye of the ball ...something was really off…way off. The service extremely slow, almost tedious and a bit painful especially when you’re sitting in a half empty restaurant. It took forever to get our initial drink order, and it just went downhill from there. The food was just OK this time. There was a drag in between courses. The overall presentation was great, but the food was lukewarm to even cold. I think I could be as bit more forgiving if we were not spending $75 per person for Brunch. I would defiantly think twice about going back now for Brunch which is truly a shame."

  • "The menu and the style of food were very high end in its design and execution. The variety was my favorite, and I love trying new things. I'd say 75% of the ingredients were strange, or unfamiliar to the average person. But, you can trust that everything on the menu was delicious. I ordered 5 courses and I could barely finish (I'm 200lbs+). If I go again I would get 4 courses. The only thing I didn't really like was the placid interior design. It was very clean and minimalist but drawn from the historic charm that is in fashion these days. The service was impeccable... They got a 30% tip. I'd give them more if I could afford it. Overall, I would highly recommend this place, especially for a romantic date."

It is as if management had taught the staff that one honors a man by honoring his wife. Simply superb. Well done and memorable."

  • "The service was absolutely fantastic. Everyone was energetic and knowledgeable. The sommelier is outstanding, provided a perfect bottle for our meal and provided us with information for an upcoming trip my wife and I have planned to the Napa Valley. Our disappointment with the meal lies with the inconsistency of the experience. Our carrot appetizer just flat out missed. There were also a couple of components that detracted from otherwise well cooked and thought out dishes. The citrus element to the venison dish almost ruined the whole course, and the pesto sauce was overwhelming with the rock fish that was cooked perfectly."

This was much too much food, which was solid but not remarkable. The wait staff was young and alternately impatient, rude, and arrogant.   • "The staff wear Converse/Chucks in an effort to not come off as pretentious. Between that and a coordinated staff that work together, overlapping on serving tables, it's a great experience. And then there's the food. My wife and I had the tasting menu and wine pairing. The tasting menu is listed as six courses, I believe, but add in the canapes to start, the assorted chocolates and sweets at the end, it ends up being about nine courses. Individually the meals aren't heavy but taken as a whole you leave full. The meal was an assortment of root veggies, black cod in miso, wagyu beef short rib, squid ink pasta bolognese and more. The service and quality of the food were fantastic. It was about a three hour experience that I'd love to repeat."

It's a price fixed 21 course chef's tasting menu with optional wine-pairing add-on. Flavors and textures like I've never had before - a very fun and special night!!   • "We've been wanting to try Volt for quite a while now and finally made sure to get our reservation in a month in advance. We had food that was absolutely amazing...combinations of things that I would never known to combine (or that existed...pumpkin kimchee???). It was all delicious. We opted to do 5 courses of our choice and with a bottle of delicious wine we left completely stuffed. Next time we want to try to do the Chef's table (well, when we have some extra money to spend since we have two little ones at home)."

  • "I had the six-meat sampler and was rather impressed with five of them - the lamb neck was phenomenal. The food accurately justifies the price. Great wine selection - my fiance choose an Argentine Malbec and I had Jamesons. Restaurant lighting was good and time between serving dishes helped digestion - I was full at the end. Dessert was GREAT. A few things I did not like: the close proximity to other patrons dining. Can't help overhearing other conversation and it felt slightly confined and besides telling us about each plate he was serving, the waiter had no recommendation about any items on the menu. Simply waited for us to order. Maybe because it was lack of knowledge? Great, once a year, experience."

Overall, this was a culinary adventure that was topped off with the pistachio crusted gelato with a candle that was brought out after dinner for my wife's birthday. We'll definitely be back, maybe with a group next time for the private room or Table 21."

  • "I have to start with the service because it was so outstanding. Carlo and the rest of the staff surrounding him did an outstanding job. The food was well thought out and amazingly prepared but they should have a quick menu description explaining the a la carte menu is small plates. Our waiter made it clear to us but we looked at the menu online before making our reservation. We also love having wine with dinner and were expecting to find a bottle in the $40 range or a glass in the $9-$10 range and were surprised that most were at least double that. Especially considering that the cocktails and beer were reasonably priced. Still a 5 star review on every level."

  • "Today's brunch marked the fourth time we've dined at VOLT over the past three years. And today was the first time I've been dissatisfied with the experience. The food was very good. The service, however, felt clunky and obtrusive. The staff usually wears brown Converse shoes, but those in charge of the service (in suits) were wearing dress shoes and thumped (often loudly) through the dining room. One of our party ordered the five-course tasting while the rest had the three-course. The pacing was off, leaving three of our group with blank plates (for sharing, I presume), which were cleared unused. Twice. And then I received the wrong entree. What gives? I'd still go back, but the staff - hosts and waitstaff - need some polish."

I MENTIONED TO MY WIFE LAST YEAR THAT WE WOULD HAVE TO MAKE A TRIP OURSELVES TO FREDERICK TO EAT AT VOLT. SO FOR MY 50TH BIRTHDAY MY WIFE MADE RESERVATIONS AT VOLT. WE GOT TO SIT IN THE CHEFS TABLE SECTION RIGHT UP FRONT. IT WAS THE BEST FOOD AND THE BEST RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. FROM THE HOST TO THE WAIT STAFF TO ALL OF THE DELICIOUS COURSES (I PICKED THE TASTING MENU) TO MY SURPRISE BIRTHDAY DESSERT WITH A CANDLE IT WAS AN UNFORGETABLE EXPERIENCE. I'VE TOLD ALL OF MY FRIENDS THAT THEY HAVE TO EXPERIENCE VOLT FOR THEMSELVES! THANK YOU FOR A WONDERFUL 50TH BIRTHDAY!!!"

We had already done our research in terms of reading up on Yelp - namely making sure that we order either the pre fixed menu or choosing the same number of individual courses. Everything went well and we thoroughly enjoyed each of our dishes. Not one of them was a letdown. Service and ambience was good. It would have been nice to be able to call the server a bit more often, but that was due to our table location. All in all, it's pretty steep, but would definitely go again."

The food itself was good, but only 2 of five dishes were WOW! The wine pairings were off the charts delicious. For $750 for 4 people, the food flavor was lacking. While we had an amazing evening out, due to the price to food delisciousness ratio, I will not be rushing back for much more than a sazerac at the bar."
