  • "My husband and I (along with friends or family sometimes!) dine at Volare at least once a month, if not twice a month. Our servers, Lawerence and Ishmel (if Lawrence isn't available!) are always knowledgeable, prompt and accommodating. Their new chef, Mateo, came out to our table to talk about the menu and, being as vegan as I can, made me a special vegan meal (roasted eggplant with risotto made with a veggie broth). It was outstanding. Friends ate black spaghetti and raved about that as well, and the skate got an excellent review from the other friends that ordered that."

  • "The evening was very enjoyable because of the ambiance and service. We stayed quite some time and never felt rushed. The service was very attentive the entire time. On previous trips to this restaurant the food was excellent, however, this time the calamari was tough and chewy and the meatballs were not as good as expected. We'll definitely go back again, though."

  • "A dreadful evening tonight at Volare. We waited at the door for 4 minutes for the hostess to arrive and seat us, we were shown to a table (without an apology for waiting) and not given menus. Our waiter came over and asked if we would like drinks and we said we would order drinks if he could bring us a menu. The food was pretty good when it arrived, but we spent the rest of the evening waiting to catch the eye of our waiter as he and his colleagues seemed more interested in chatting in the kitchen and busying themselves tidying up the (quite empty) restaurant. When we left the restaurant the hostess was once again chatting in the kitchen and so nobody was there to ask us how our dining experience was or to say goodbye. We will never return."

  • "I ordered the calamari for an appetizer. I have never had any better anywhere. Service was attentive and the staff was fun to interact with, yet they also knew when to leave us alone. Food was very good. This place is a winner."

  • "We enjoyed being able to choose your own antipasti-- we went with olives, provolone and salami. All three were delicious. Others in our group had an appetizer of grilled sea food, said it was outstanding. For entree, I had the ricotta gnocchi with a side of meatball--it was all around delicious. Others in my party had the short rib risotto (super tasty and tender), the homemade ravioli, and the sea bass special which he said was one of the best fish entrees he has had. Great wines to choose from, service was attentive but not intrusive. It was a very good experience, an excellent meal. The only negative was the tables are a bit close together, so you can hear each others conversations. But the quality of the food outweighed that."

  • "We've dined plenty of times in the past at Volare in Chicago, but were so happy to find that they had a location in the burbs. Our server Holly was outstanding and we a made a point to let the maitre' d know how much we appreciated her wit, attention and professionalism. Love the fact that dinner can be customized into several courses by ordering half-portions of many starters and pastas. Grilled seafood antipasti was excellent as were the salads. Our table enjoyed the square noodles, seafood ravioli, spaghetti and meatballs, Italian sausage. All were perfectly prepared and exceptionally delicious. We can't wait to go back when we can linger and enjoy a cordial while enjoying the entertainment in the lounge."

  • "I called the restaurant to tell them we'd be 30 minutes late. They held our reservation, thank you! The olive oil on the house salad was very good. Had one of the specials, a lobster and crab stuffed ravioli and it was wonderful. Lasagne excellent. The prices are right too. Great wait staff, water glasses filled, plates cleared in a timely fashion, not rushed. Upbeat vibe. Will definitely be back.. As good as the original Chicago location."

  • "There were 3 of us for dinner, starting with salads - house, caprese and rade - all excellent and the half-order of the salads was just right. Entrees followed - baked lasagna, roast chicken and chicken parmesan - all well seasoned and delicions. Finished up with cappucinos and dessert - spumoni, pistacchio gelato and the chocolate moose - all of which were fresh and nicely sized. The server was attentive and helpful with menu selections and ensured all was well during the meal, even though she had quite a few tables."

  • "We celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary at Volare with our daughter on a Sunday afternoon. Upon arriving until leaving, the service of the staff were excellent. Our waiter, Brian was very informative and attentive. The food was outstanding and the chef made something special that was not on the menu for my husband which was awesome. The extended wine list was great too. On a scale of one to ten, I give Volare an 11!!!! Will definitely return to Volare!"

  • "It's a shame to have to complain about the valet service but it was less than adequate. We had dinner there on Saturday and it was snowing like crazy. When the valet delivered our cars, we could not believe he didn't even attempt to clean the snow off of them. He asked me if I had a snow brush. I told him if he would have looked in the back seat, he would have seen one. Lazy. I made sure his tip reflected my dissatisfaction."

  • "We arrived at the restaurant at 730 & were told our table would be ready in a few minutes. -Not seated until 8:30PM, right next to the kitchen, w/o menus, which was excessively noisy. -Waited another 10 minutes and had to get up and ask for our waiter & menus -Asked 4 times for butter before we received it -Took nearly 20 minutes to receive our drinks & salad. -Witnessed several health code violations in the kitchen from my table At this point I demanded our check and got up to leave. The waiter then had the nerve to bring the check to the table & the manager quickly scurried over & kept saying "no check" & tried to get us to stay. I told him everything listed above, left & went to the Clubhouse where everything is always amazing"

  • "This is the 4th time I have brought people to Volare who have never been there. Al these 1st timers have enjoyed the great food, ambiance and terrific service. Sunday evening I brought my mother, a cousin and her husband. Our entrees included the salmon, whitefish, grilled octopus. We did request some minor adjustments and a few reminders were needed. Eventually everyone received what they wanted and were unanimously impressed with the quality of the food. Little things like outstanding bread with a tasty tomato dressing was thoroughly enjoyed. The Volare staff seem to be a real team. It's a lovely place to treat those people you love or would like to impress with a great dining experience."

  • "This is a fine restaurant if you live nearby, but we drove out of our way to go there based on Open Table reviews. Pasta was bland. Bread with marinara was good. Anitpasto was interesting, but not great. Service was pretty slow, like they forgot about us for a while. We were seated at a drafty table. Parking was difficult unless you want to pay $3 to valet in the suburbs."

  • "I made a reservation via Open Table. When we arrived we were ushered to a closed off room with 3 space heaters facing the table they sat us at. They said someone was working on the heat & it would be fixed soon. It was freezing the whole time we were eating. We weren't asked if we minded eating in the cold - we were just sat there. We were not given anything for the inconvenience. Not sure who would choose to eat a nice dinner in a freezing room."

  • "I have been to Volare many times and it never disappoints. Food, service, and price point are always great. I was actually surprised the place wasn't more crowded. We were a party of 6 who met about 30 minutes before out dinner reservations to have a drink in the bar. And this past Friday night it was not crowded at all. Neither th bar or the dining area were crowded. Not before dinner or after when we went back in the bar for a night cap. That being said, it was still a great evening with great food and service."

  • "I was a big fan of Volare downtown... I'm not sure if that place has gone downhill like this one has, but our experience was pretty poor. A few things contributed to this- like our server. He started out by recommending a $85 bottle of wine discounted to $65... Really? We will settle for the $30 thanks. And then took 10 minutes to get back to us after we figured out which bottle. Next he heard our conversation about Gratto closing and went on to brag about how much better Volare's prices are &compared to their prices-very tacky. Anyhow, homemade noodles and veal were decent which is what our party ordered. My meatballs, however, were sooooo bland - it was like they took unseasoned ground beef and fried it. Not returning anytime soon."
