  • "We were a table of three. We made advance reservations through OpenTable and were seated imediately upon arrival. That was the high point of the experience. The appetizer was a Clam Casino dish that was nothing but bread Crumbs and Clam Shells. I took one and broke up the bread crumbs trying to find a clam, but could not. Of the three entrees, my daughter ordered the Risotto, my wife a pasta dish, and I ordered the braised lamb breast. The risotta was definitely the best dish, as it actually had some flavor and was cooked nicely but nothing that made me want to come back for. My wife's pasta was so bland it was not edible. My braised lamb was so sweet, I thought I put a spoonful of bad pudding in my mouth."

  • "Was visiting Louisville and went to Volare for anniversary dinner, based on reviews found online. Wanted a good restaurant for a quiet, special evening dinner. Volare is in a quiet neighborhood in Northeast Louisville. They recently celebrated their 10th anniversary in business. The atmosphere, service, and food were all excellent. The menu is Italian, and they had a great selection of wines, spirits, appetizers, soups/salads, entrees, and deserts. Our primary server was knowledgable and made great recommendation for wine to go with our meals. Several other people were attentive to keeping our water glasses filled, removing plates, etc. without being overbearing. It was a great experience overall. We highly recommend Volare!"

  • "Was in town for the PGA Championship and knew off the beaten path type places would be better due to high volume of people looking for good food would be preferred. Never disappointed with their food but the hostess was young and acted liked we were a very big inconvenience to her. Told us three times our table was only waiting to be set. 30 minutes later after several people ahead of us complained to her the manager came in and took control and we were seated and taken very good care of. She needs to get her attitudes adjusted as she acts like she is better than everyone at the ripe old age of maybe 22 yrs old?"

  • "Went there for a birthday dinner and were more than pleasantly surprised. Great atmosphere and noise level, even with a jazz duo playing. Drinks were great and the food was top notch. Scallop appetizer was cooked perfectly, and hands down the best risotto I've ever had. Lots of great options and specials. I will definitely return!"

  • "My two friends and I were in town for the PGA tournament and found this restaurant online. Reservations at 9:00, were promptly seated and drinks ordered. Our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable and made menu suggestions. I ordered Ceasar salad which was very good and the Osso Bucco was awesome. My friends both got the Veal Marsala and thought it was wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening. When in Louisville again I will make sure this my first stop."

  • "The fresh produce from the chef's garden was a very special touch to my dinner. We were surprised to find this restaurant open on Monday, since that is traditionally a night off for fine dining staff. When we arrived, we found the restaurant almost full (a good thing we had reservations!) Celebratory dinners don't always conveniently fall Tuesday thru Saturday! We appreciated being able to experience this gem on a non-traditional night."

  • "This was my fourth visit here, and I have to day that I have never been disappointed. I had the lamb shank with risotto this time, and it was so tender that it fell off the bone! Service is usually excellent, but I did have to wait a while for water sometimes. Overall, I would definitely go back and recommend this place!"

We sat on their lovely outdoor patio whose ambience is just fantastic. The food was perfect. We started with the sausage and peppers and then had the osso buco and the chicken marsala. To say it was really good is an understatement. The restaurant is great, ambiance for my first blind date was fantastic. I highly highly highly recommend it."

  • "Just enjoyed a very nice birthday dinner at Volare. Started with the beef carpaccio, and it was very good. The accompanying arugula came with a light dressing and paired well with the beef. I got the PAPPARDELLE BOSCAIOLA, and it was also very good - as advertised, the pasta was indeed house-made and quite tasty. My wife could not decide between the marsala and the saltimbocca, and since both dishes came with 2 chicken breast, the kitchen agree to plate one of each - a very classy move on their part. Both were quite good. The dish came with polenta and broccolini and both were very notable (in a time when sides can easily be an after thought). The Tiramisu was scrumptious."

The front staff were extremely friendly and led us to the bar area while they got our table ready... The bartender was extremely friendly and personable and knowledgable about the wine list... We ordered a bottle of wine and not long after, our table was ready... Our waiter was extremely personable as well and made some suggestions, my wife ordered the sea bass and I had the chicken parmigiana... Both were absolutely delicious. After we finished dinner we went back into the bar for dessert... Also amazing... If you are looking for a truly memorable high end dining experience, look no further than Volare!"

Seeing as I am a teenager, it was wonderful to get equal service as compared to other diners. Most places when they see teenagers they give horrid service, but that did not happen at all at Volare.
