Vol. 94 is a hidden gem in Pasadena. From the lighting to the food, everything about this place is sophisticated and romantic. I haven't tried anything on their dish that wasn't delicious—my favorite dishes are the Purple Cauliflower and Green Curry Mussels. Service is great as well, the manager of the restaurant makes sure to come by which is always a plus because it shows they care for their customers. This has been my second time at Vol.94, but I'm sure I will visit again soon. By the way, I drove from Orange County to come here because it's worth it.
FYI: The place is a little difficult to find. I usually end up parking in the huge Pasadena parking lot off of Colorado and then walk a block or two to the restaurant.

Food was delicious. We had tuna tataki, curried cauliflower, asparagus with poached egg, the salmon and the vege "faux-sania" (lasagne made from vegetables). Distinctive luscious flavors. Shared everything and were well satisfied. Only wish we lived closer. But we would make the trek from West LA to enjoy this restaurant again. Staff and owners were very helpful and attentive.

Good cooking and well chosen wine list. All very exactly and well prepared. Butter lettuce with candied kumquats was an excellent salad. Some of the dishes try too hard and don't necessarily succeed - Foie Gras and unagi is an adventurous combination but they didn't really complement each other and needed something as a contrast to both. Very good cheeses to select from. A good place for a night out with friends or for a date where sharing plates is part of the evening.

everything served was Excellent and beautifully displayed. Cannot beat the $3 wine, too!! Only feat: signage...couldn't find the place as there's no elevated sign.

The problem with this place is that our server kept insisting that even though they were portrayed as a tapas-style restaurant on yelp, they really weren't and that they were more of a wine bar. I had mentioned that I was told about the place by a friend as having great food, not through yelp. We felt a bit forced to order several glasses of wine. Even though she said the menu wasn't tapas oriented, the dishes were small portions. Just for the two of us, we ordered 6 dishes and could have gone for probably another. That's tapas style! Of the dishes, the notables were the PB&J, green curry mussels, and the sweetbreads. All good, but overpriced and for a place touted as a wine bar, she didn't even recommend wine pairings.

This place had a modern, classy, almost up-scale, gourmet chef, type of feel to it. I personally thought the restaurant decor looked like an old library that they restored as an pretentious dining room. And I love it! haha it was a very cute restaurant but that was exactly how I felt about it. Although instead of books, there were wine on their shelves, which was pretty cool. My friend says the hanger steak was delicious, i had a plate of cheese which were delicious. Our pinot noirs were delicious! Creme brulee was like any other. service was not bad at all. Definitely recommend it if you want a hidden romantic place that you don't have to gets extra dressy for. Dimmed lights and candles :)

I was so looking forward to falling in love with this restaurant. Belize was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was lovely and the wine list was very good. Unfortunately, the fois gras was described as a pate but was a loose mousse.. The same was true of the panna cote. It was more of a mousse. May try it again.
