  • "We've been here a few times and always it's delicious. We tend to dine early so we book the earliest reservation. I suggest waiting 30minutes next time, there seems to be a lot of similarly minded people, stretching the staffs attention in those first 30 minutes after that ..smooth sailing. But a pleasant environment and food is always delicious. We always eat tapas hot and cold. The dates are a favorite, but we've tried so many and have never been disappointed. Love the expanded facility and it looks like bar attracts an early crowd too. We will be back soon."

  • "We had some of the worst service of our life here. The waiter didn't greet us for 20 minutes, took another 20 to get our drinks and place our order, and waited 30 minutes for our appetizer of salad. Then were told he was the manager when we asked to speak to someone. They also forgot to put in our main entree and only when we asked 30 minutes later where it was, did they say it wasn't ever placed to order. Amazing food, but the service was enough to make me NEVER want to come back. Fortunately, an employee named Sophie came over at the very last minute to discuss our issues and listen to our concerns, and she may have persuaded me to try again."

  • "Noise level was too loud in the main dining/bar area. WE DO NOT LIKE THE LIVE MUSIC. Too loud and cheesy. The musicians and music type are more appropriate for a cruise ship of senior citizens. We would much prefer to have no live music so we can actually carry on a conversation while we're eating."

The food was delicious, but we can't recommend this restaurant because of the mentioned issues. This was not the first time we dined here, but it could be our last for a long while."

The food was Ok but the service negatively impacted our entire experience. We has to keep waiving the server over and asking him to order. Not good when you're in a large group having tapas. I expected much more."

  • "Usually one of our favorite places but Valentine's Day was a bad expereince. They'd put so many tables in the restaurant you were literally on top of one another. You could hear all conversations around you- akward & uncomfortable. NOT a romantic experience . Not told there'd be a limited menu - limited it was indeed! The food we did order wasn't up to Viscaya's standard at all. The lack of seasoning, taste, care & presentation wasn't up to par. The service wasn't attentive - the young man running food provided more attention than the waiter. Felt rushed -done in 45 minutes. No one asked if we'd like dessert, coffee, or after dinner drink. First time we 've ever had this type of experiece there- the evening was very dissappointing."

  • "We have dined at Vizcaya several times and love it - some of the best tapas in Tampa. However, on Valentines Day it is transformed into a wam bam thank you ma'am mess. There is a pitiful set menu with none of the good tapas ( hope you like croquettes) and a few entres which seemed premade, cafeteria style. This little spot was one of the best places to dine in North Tampa - even after the ambiance killing expansion, but our trip on the 14th left a bad taste in our mouth's. they crammed extra tables into the dining room so it felt like a speed dating session with other couples right at our elbows. But the sangria was still good :)"

  • "This was not the first time we've experienced this, but unless your group size is more than 2, you end up sitting too close to others. There is maybe 12 inches between tables. That's NOT very romantic when you can hear everyone's conversations. Food is always good. Didn't really appreciate the special limited menu for VD, however, I found something that was tasty. I also think the price may have been slightly higher than original menu."

  • "Booked a lunch reservation. Noone at hostess station to check in, including 3 separate groups that came in after. Walked dining room, waiter chatting with a bus person & even after seeing me, continued to talk until I asked if he could help.Table had white napkins. Guest asked for black napkin and was told that "it would be okay". Another guest asked to sub a salad, even if it cost extra was told "we don't do that".Food was very average with little flavor. Had to ask for drink refills, waiter would refill one drink and start to walk off, then had to be stopped to fill other glasses at table. Was looking forward to the lunch - strangest experience we ever had. The restaurant obviously does not care about word of mouth or repeat business."

We remembered being so impressed by the quality of the food and presentation, but now everything was just average- nothing special. We went on a moderately busy Friday evening. Service was not great, one of appetizers never came, the food was okay but not special. All in all disappointing."

  • "I was very disappointed with the seating. I'd made a reservation yet when we came in they put us at a bar table. Due to bad knees this was problematic. We could have sat outside but it was too cold for my elderly guest. So we sat at the bar, still too high but at least there was a ledge. Then the bottom part of the leg of my chair broke off. The food was good and wait staff was good, but the inability to be seated appropriately was annoying and there was not a lot of effort to accommodate us. We would have left, but as this was so close to Christmas there was little chance of finding another restaurant that was available."
