  • "vivo was good, but not as much so as when in the bellevue location. The food was good, but not outstanding with the exception of the elk that my husband chose. Our server was a little pushy as in three trips to the table to order and at the end of th meal a gentleman came to the table and ask us to move to the bar so others could be seated. On a positive note our server was friendly and very food knowledgeable which we appreciated."

  • "Went back to Vivo 2nd year in a row for Valentine's Day dinner, it was amazing! We enjoyed the Octopus and cheese board for appetizers, two winning dishes. Lamb Chops and Flat Iron Steak for entrée, 2 more home runs. The food is exceptional, service is great, wine list is amazing, and the folks at Vivo make it look so easy. This joint has become a Pittsburgh standard with it edgy and avante garde menu. You must try this place!"

  • "We dine out a lot and this restaurant gets better and better. Favs include their butter lettuce with truffle oil and walnuts and any fresh whole fish. Their desserts are made in house and divine."

  • "This restaurant is wonderful, from soup to nuts. Always the freshest ingredients, prepared with flair and care, and the staff are the nicest and most knowledgeable I've ever found. The place itself is classy but not stuffy, a pleasant setting for a special dining experience."

  • "Would recomend only if friend was young. Way too noisey for folks 70 plus. Food was expensive and not that good."

  • "We had a party of four. All four meals are of poor quality. Over cooked, over oiled, under cooked and poor ingredients."

  • "We always enjoy Vivo Kitchen. Sam makes the most innovative menu choices, this time we had some wonderful (not mild) grilled chills and a great mushroom dish to start. Quite delicious, as were the entrees, flat iron Steak and Pork Chop at our table with perfectly seasoned accompaniments on the plate. Flavors are always delicious and new. And do NOT miss Lori's fabulous desserts, including Affogato (vanilla bean ice cream w/ espresso on top), this time gelatos were peppermint patty (OMG) and Nutella (also OMG). We also had wonderful drinks from the bar and some excellent wines by the glass."

  • "This was the first time we were here and we will surely return. The menu has a nice mix of items and everything we ordered was well prepared and tasty. The by the glass wine price was rather high but the quality was good. We were impressed that the chef visited our table to ask us about our meals. We had a very enjoyable meal. Good job, Vivo!"

  • "The ambiance, the location, the outdoor patio even looking into the kitchen and seeing its warm and inviting feeling says that this could be a gem. The staff was super attentive and polished but yet in a way that says thanks for coming to our house for dinner. The menu is split into starter that more a tapas style of a variety of things so you can try small plates and then the entree menu which is limited but has something to appeal to all pallets. This is one of those places that prides itself on service and the staff as I said was first rate but the chef also came out and we were able to have a wonderful conversation about what I loved and what I found needed work. Definitely a go see, and try the signature manhattan"

  • "We had a delightful evening thanks to staff at Vivo. In fact, we gave up our tableand dined at the bar because the bartender was so attentive and we were so comfortable. Love the eclectic menu. Food was exceptional as was service. Don't miss this one!"

  • "Portions skimpy for price. Inside was empty but we were very rushed."

  • "We found the menu selections interesting and varied. Most items were not what you see ordinarily, and a little scary to order, as I am not a "foodie". But when our selections came, they were delicious. Salads were fresh; the scallops were excellent. The only problem with our time there was that the tables ( in the front window) were much too close, and we felt that we were eaves dropping on others' conversations. Unfortunately, we found our waiter to be very short with us, and we felt as if he didn't want to be there. Too bad; that and the closeness of tables over came the good food and convenient local setting."
