Diner Reviews
  • "Restaurant was very nice. Food was very good. Service was good."

  • "This is a GREAT place. I had no idea it would be this good. The food was delicious. I had expected more of a bistro atmosphere, maybe limited wine and appetizer/pizza place. The reality was so much more, so much better. We will definitely be back again. I had the garlic shrimp-it was fantastic."

  • "Big fan of Vivo. Love going there and being there. Wife wanted to go for her birthday, Vivo honored my requests and hooked up up perfect. Another awesome experience with top notch food and service. Best Italian in the area, hands down."

  • "We met some friends for dinner here. The food was very good! I was able to find several options that fit into my weight watcher plan. Our vegetarian friends found several options as well. Thete is an extensive wine list. Will definately returb!"

  • "What a great place for lunch. We are frequent dinner guests and were so impressed with the varied inexpensive lunch menu – pizza, subs, Panini sandwiches, salads, and for those who want more to eat some of their great pastas and entrees from the dinner menu. I had a PLT Panini – an Italian BLT with a side of the soup of the day - Sausage and Kale. Both were excellent. I really could have eaten bowls of the soup it was so fresh and delicious. My friend had the Fresh Mozzarella & Prosciutto – she claimed it was the best. She had hers with the Vivo salad. The price can't be beat!"

  • "Vivo never fails. We are frequent guests and this was a very busy night but the food still was outstanding. We had two new guests with us and they were impressed. We started with the Calamari and all agree they do it to perfection. Our guests had the Garlic Shrimp and could not stop talking about the big perfectly cooked shrimp and the spinach - no ordinary scampi. The Lobster and Shrimp Bucatini is a must try - homemade pasta with plentiful seafood and the cream sauce is delicate. Another favorite was the Rigatoni and Sweet Sausage an interesting blend of ingredients that is delicious. Vivo's house wine is a great bargain and good. We all enjoyed the cannoli -- they really are special here."

  • "You can tell how much I love this restaurant by the fact that my husband and I have dined here 3 times in the past 4 weeks and have never been disappointed. The food is delicious (chicken parm, lobster/shrimp pasta, salmon/crab, chicken marsala), the bread is fresh with a soft inside but crunchy crust, the atmosphere is definitely Italian, and the waitstaff professional and courteous. On our first visit our server was Jamar and we were so impressed by his menu suggestions and attentiveness that we've asked for him on our subsequent visits as well. Vivo is located lobby-level in the Hotel at the Reserve at Arundel Mills which has a large garage attached making parking very easy and dry in case of foul weather. We've become regulars!"

  • "I was not expecting Vivo to be so fabulous. Sure, the reviews were good, but my experiences with hotel restaurants has typically been 'meh'. We were really impressed with the whole operation. Staff was friendly, warm and professional. The space is handsome, if a little loud. And the food was swoon-worthy. Every dish we had was well balanced, well seasoned, and well thought out. Little touches took dishes from pretty good to exceptional- the subtle bit of basil in the house salad, the dollop of fresh ricotta on the Bolognese, the red pepper on the white bean dip.... I wish Vivo was closer to home so we could be regulars."

  • "Our first time here we brought a group of six. Not many tables for big groups but six seemed ok. Service was excellent (Luke explained everything very thoroughly after we said we were first timers). Food was plentiful and very good."

  • "Service was great. Claudio the maitre'd was outstanding and quite attentive, as were the servers. Food was on time. Great recommendations and pairings."

  • "This was our second visit to Vivo and once again it did not disappoint. The first time we were there it was pretty quiet but this time the place was mobbed but our reservation was honored right on time. We had asked for Jamar, our outstanding server from our first visit, and once again he was terrific making excellent recommendations and making sure our every request was fulfilled as quickly as possible. The food here is marvelous! I ordered the lobster/shrimp pasta that I immensely enjoyed the first time and my husband had the salmon topped with crab meat that he loved as much this time as the last. The other diners in our party tried the veal marsala and one of the pizza selections and loved them as well. We'll definitely return."

  • "I arranged this dinner with co-workers for a group of eight. We all liked the food selections, the desert selections did not appeal to anyone. The experience was less than stellar because of the service. The waitress was attentive but too attentive to the point we felt completely rushed. For example, I had ordered pizza with a salad to start. I was the only one to order salad because everyone else order heavy meals. I wasn't even half way complete when the waitress was asking if I was finished and reaching for the plate!!! I was not shoveling it in and enjoying the time to catch up, but I guess she thought a small break to join the conversation signaled I was complete. The pressure continued and put a damper on the whole dinner."

  • "I have become a frequent patron of Vivo bringing new guests and no one ever leaves unhappy. Matt, the general manager, runs a great restaurant with a well trained staff. The food is consistent and excellent. We tried the Gnocchi so delicate and delicious; the sage brown butter sauce did not overpower the taste of the homemade Ricotta Gnocchi. The Charlie’s Chicken was in a wonderful plum tomato sauce – be sure to savor it with some homemade bread. The Rigatoni with Sweet Sausage was really a good dish with interesting combination of ingredients – the rigatoni is homemade. This dish is a nice change for those who don’t want red sauce. The staff will pace your meal as you wish. This is a great place to sit back and enjoy your meal."

  • "This is a top notch restaurant with excellent service. Katie our server was attentive while giving us the time we wanted to have a leisure dinner. Our meals of Frank’s Veal, Garlic Shrimp and Chicken Marsala were all impressive. Everyone thought their dish was the best! We love the spinach with the Frank’s Veal and that accompanies the Garlic Shrimp so much so that we will order a side with other dishes in the future. For dessert the Chocolate Polenta Tart is dark smooth and creamy and the crust delicious and the Tiramisu will not disappoint."

  • "This was the first time dining at Vivo and we can't wait to return. They definitely made us feel like special guests. The Caesar salad was crisp with a slightly tangy dressing which we loved. Our excellent waiter, Jamar, made two entrée suggestions which we tried - the Salmon and Crab Oreganato (grilled salmon topped with lump crab over asparagus in a light sauce) and the Bucatini Lobster&Shrimp (homemade pasta with large chunks of lobster and shrimp in a light cream sauce) EXCELLENT!!! Most cream sauces tends to be heavy, but this was light and perfectly seasoned and they definitely didn't skimp on the seafood. The manager stopped by several times to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. It was a wonderful evening."

  • "Absolutely loved my experience. Planned this dinner for my Birthday & they did not disappoint. The waiter was great, very knowledgable & patient. The food was delicious. The chef even customized our orders - made the sauce more spicy for me & mild for my pregnant friend. I highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "There was not a single negative review for Vivo prior to our visit, and with good reason! We loved this place! The ambiance was rustic Italian and had a comfortable feel. Our server, Oscar, was friendly and attentive, the food and wine were great, and we definitely plan to be back! So happy Vivo is in the neighborhood!"

  • "A good Italian restaurant; we were Extremely pleased with the dining experience. All of the food exceeded expectations. We particularly enjoyed the family-style pastas, especially the carbonara. The restaurant can best be described as "fine dining for the suburbs"."

  • "We just happened to see Vivo walking by one night. As a couple, we consider ourselves as foodies and are always open to different places for new food experiences. Once you walk in, you are welcomed by the friendly staff and comforted by the heavenly smells from the kitchen. The ambience is modern and romantic at the same time. Our waitress was super friendly and patient as I read the menu over and over again finding it difficult to decided. We will definitely go back to experience the wonderful cuisine and friendly staff."

  • "Some unusual recipes. Great service (Katie). Meals enjoyed included whole wheat fettucine with pesto and chicken, bucatini with lobster and shrimp, chicken parm . . . Warning about caesar salad - Asked for no anchovies, which they did leave off. Had no idea it came with chopped hard boiled egg. Not being an egg lover, won't order this again. Everything else was great"

  • "The service was great, but the food needed additional touch of Italian seasoning. If they want to compete with other Italian restaurants, they need to go out and sample the competition and bring it home. thanks,"

  • "This is a fabulous place! Claudio, the manager, sets a tone of hospitality that sets this place apart. I met some friends for lunch and we all enjoyed the Crispy Parmesan Polenta appetizer, and the mushroom ragout was amazing. I can’t wait to order this again and enjoy some of their bread with it. We also had the Calamari, very tender and the seasoning is a little spicy without overpowering the taste of the calamari. Our meals the Eggplant and the Ravioli (homemade) both were prepared to not disappoint. If you want great food and service Vivo has it!"

  • "We are frequent guests of Vivo and brought two new people with us. They were impressed. The tone of hospitality was set by Matt (a manager), and the service was excellent by the entire staff. Our meals: the Pork Shank Osso Buco falls off the bone and the gravy (sauce) is old world – save room to dip the fresh bread in it; the Garlic Shrimp not like any ordinary scampi; the Shrimp Arrabbiata with large shrimp was spicy without being too hot; the Eggplant Rollatini Parmesan an excellent surprise for the eggplant lovers; and the classic Pomodoro with meatballs, even the basics are done to perfection. We shared some cannolis and the olive cake – both excellent!"

  • "The food and service here is as good as any five star restaurant in the city. The manager Claudio makes sure that everyone is made to feel welcomed and satisfied. We started with the Calamari, it was tender. It has a great drizzle as well as the red sauce which is wonderful. We enjoyed the prosciutto which is of the best quality. The bread is always fresh and plentiful. The Bucatini with lobster and shrimp is delicious and has large hunks of fresh lobster meat. The Bolagnese is like none other; homemade mafaldine pasta - the braised short rib just falls apart. We shared the olive oil cake. I would highly recommend it – it is not ordinary the cake itself is amazing and the fig sauce is special. Great wine list and parking easy!"

  • "The food and service keeps us coming back. We love the calamari and the Mozzarella with tomatoes was really good. If you have not been here the bread and humus with olive oil is amazing. I tried a classic Chicken Marsala, it was excellent; perfectly balanced served over homemade pasta. The mushrooms weren’t ordinary and the Marsala wine of good sweet quality. The Chicken Parmesan lover said it was the best he had eaten. My husband tried the Frank’s Veal it was delicious. The veal was tender and the spinach seasoned just right. We love the house blend tap Red wine - it is a great bargain. We did save room for dessert by taking our time. It is like eating in Europe – take your time and enjoy this place where you dine not just eat!"

  • "I had dinner here with a few friends and we loved our visit. The homemade bucatini with the clam sauce was amazing! My friend got the portobello marinara pizza and thought it was really flavorful. We all enjoyed wine and liked that they had a wide variety of wine selections to choose from. The manager Claudio stopped by and asked us how our evening went and we really appreciated that. As we left, the general manager, Matt thanked us for coming. My friends and I felt very cared for and loved the food. Thanks!"

  • "We just tried Vivo for the first time. It has a nice feel - warm and inviting. The menu includes a wide variety of Italian options, with interesting twists. The food generally was good, although the zucchini fries were flimsy, with more breading than zucchini. The pizza crust was excellent, a perfect balance of slightly crispy while tender. The pesto pasta also was tasty."
