Diner Reviews
  • "Food is fabulous! I have tried at least 10 entrees and appetizers to date - and all were outstanding! Attentive but not interfering service, excellent wines, comfortable table spacing, responsive chef, welcoming warmth."

  • "We had a great time dining at Vivaldi ...it was a birthday celebration...about time there is a beautiful place to dine in Whitestone"

  • "Very interesting menu that covers a variety of foods. My table went pasta for main courses. All fishes were tasty and good portions. Great service. The hostess Loretta is friendly and accommodating. You will have a good time here!"

  • "We were a party of 7 gathered to celebrate my son's graduation. Everyone was welcoming and friendly without being intrusive. We ordered a variety of appetizers, good lobster bisque, crunchy fried artichoke hearts, meatballs, and all were exclaimed over. For the entree, several people had the skirt steak and it was very good. I had pappardelle with meat sauce, delicious. The salmon was also very good. Everyone wanted to try dessert even though we were full. I had the chocolate semi-freddo and it was a winner. The Italian cheesecake was another winner. Although we were inside, the patio looked lovely and appealing. Overall, it was a memorable evening in a beautiful restaurant."

  • "I have been in this restaurant building over the years as it went from Café of the Green to Valentino's and now Vivaldi. I think this is the best yet. The menu is sufficiently varied and well priced. The bronzino was delicious, as was the fried calamari. The seating is comfortable and the staff is very attentive. Aside from the wait staff, the manager came over several times to check to see if all was okay and offered us homemade Lemoncello at the end of the meal. All in all a great evening and dining experience. If in the area, you must try it."

  • "What a great place! Beautifully decorated and the food and drinks were outstanding. Can't wait to go back and bring friends."

  • "I treated my friend to a dinner here and she loved it! The service was very good along with the food. We never felt rushed and the ambiance was superb."

  • "I had not been back to this place since it was Cafe on the Green, which I loved.... I came in last week for a networking event and I was impressed by what I saw. So I decided to bring my family for Father's Day brunch. Our experience was fantastic! The food was excellent. The waitstaff was very attentive and the place was beautiful. I will definitely be back. I can't wait to try dinner!"

  • "I wanted to be certain that we would be seated outdoors. I called the restaurant, explained that we were entertaining my soon to be 99 year old Dad and wanted a nice table in the outdoor section. Much to our surprise they seated us among the beautiful flowers and trees in their Gazebo. My Dad fell in love with the place immediately. He not only enjoyed the Pre-Fixed Luncheon consisting of delicious appetizers; Shrimp Cocktail, Calamari Fritti, Meatballs. The fine service was devine. When they didn't have the liquor he requested, the waiter took it upon himself to bring him a sampling of one his own father enjoyed. He loved it! The rest of the luncheon was delizioso, as well. I highly recommend it."

  • "we used to go to caffe on the green several times a year. then ownership and overall experience changed for us and we stopped going. now we're b-a-a-a-c-k! had a few excellent dishes and even got lucky with a wednesday night 1/2 price deal on bottle of wine. and, btw, it was our anniversary and the waitstaff (mark anthony) treated us great!"

  • "I love this place. My only complaint? The bar should be bigger. There are only about 5 chairs. "

  • "By far the most enchanting place in Queens. Romantic, sexy with great ambiance. The staff is wonderful very attentive and provide a wonderful experience. "

  • "More of a party place than a restaurant! All their attention was on the private events even though there was enough people for the guest that they had on the floor! Food took forever to come!"

  • "I took my best friend here for lunch to celebrate her birthday. I was very impressed by the decor and awesome view. It was relatively empty being a Wednesday but the staff was attentive and friendly. The food was very well prepared and presented. The manager went around greeting the guests. I want to return for date night with my husband and my best friend will be returning for brunch."

  • "My daughter is 13 years old and has just discovered oyster's. Your raw bar at the Mother's Day brunch was perfect. She had her fill of seafood and the rest of our party ate from the wonderful buffet. "
    Dined on 5/11/2014
  • "The brunch menu had a lot of nice choices. We were all happy with our meals...they weren't outstanding, but they were okay. I wish, considering they're on a golf course, that there was a view of some kind."
    Dined on 5/4/2014
  • "Music was too loud and interfering with dinner conversation. Aside from the restaurant music, there was disco music from a party above the restaurant."
    Dined on 5/3/2014
  • "We had a celebratory dinner for 8 people. The food was ok, I would not say it was superb. The crowd is older, mature. The service was average. The noise from an upstairs party event was out of control. People were jumping up and down, we felt like the ceiling would collapse any second. This was at 6:30pm in the evening. The DJ upstairs was very loud, as well. It was definitely difficult to enjoy dinner while listening to the sounds coming from upstairs. "

  • "The food was excellent but a bit pricey for a Queens restaurant. I rarely eat out because most restaurant food makes me ill. Happy to report I was great! This chef knows how to cook and with fresh good ingredients. The stuffed sole was fantastic and portion was huge! Seating took too long especially since no one was there and then they sat someone who came in after us first. The waitress seemed very inexperienced and did not even mention specials. But the busboys were cleaning your table before you were finished. Not sure if I would go back for dinner there but definitely for lunch."

  • "Overall the experience was good. My only dislike was that they don't really cater to kids during brunch. I had my well behaved 3 yr old with me and they didnt have a kid cup or cover for his beverage. He was given chocolate milk in a very heavy and large glass cup. It was uncomfortable for him to hold it and drink out of it. Otherwise, everything else was good. "

  • "Vivaldi is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a great meal. While there are dishes that are better than others (like all restaurants), their customer friendly and attentive yet not intrusive service makes it a pleasure to dine out. "

  • "Since Cafe on the Green left the spot, businesses have struggled to stick around. Vivaldi may change that. Based on my experience it should be there a very long time and I hope it is. The food is fantastic and presented very nicely with every ingredient serving a purpose on the plate. If you consider passing on dessert, please don't. Everything is made in house (I had to ask to be sure) and are out of this world. This was truly a magnificent meal and while we ate a lot, we did not leave feeling overloaded, but left with pure bliss."

  • "We took our parent to Vivaldi for the Easter Brunch. It was pretty, food was great and the waitstaff couldn't be better. My father-in-law has a problem walking so as he came back to the table, the waiter took his plate and pulled out his chair for him. Couldn't be nicer!"

  • "Very disappointed by our first and LAST dining experience here.Food was good but service was lacking. We were celebrating my wife's 70th bday and in making the reservation online,I mentioned this and had requested for a piece of cake to be brought out for her.Well, they never brought a piece of cake after the meal but what's worse is the way it was handled afterwards. When it was mentioned to the staff, no one tried to rectify the situation. They said sorry. That was it. They could have at the very least offered it to us at that point or even just to take home. Here is the question...why bother have a special messages section in the Open Table reservations page if none of the employees at the restaurant bothers to read/acknowledge it? "

  • "We came here for a late-evening ladies' night out dinner during the week. There were few other diners at that time. The food was very tasty, seasonal, and well prepared. The fried artichoke hearts were exceptional. All of the fish dishes were very fresh. The service was prompt, polite, and attentive. Would definitely recommend to others for a romantic dinner out, ladies' night out, or even family dinner for special occasion. Although it was not open when we were there, apparently there is a raw bar that is open during happy hour, with fresh oysters and clams. We look forward to going back!"

  • "Beautiful restaurant with GREAT food to match! We will be back!"

  • "Food was very good and there was a nice selection of choices. The waitress was very good but the 2 assistants kept asking if we were done which made us uncomfortable. Also, dinner was waiting for us the minute we put down our forks after the appetizers (one assistant was holding our dinner as the other was taking our plates from the appetizers away). Will try this restaurant again but for brunch."

  • "The food was excellent. The staff amazing. I would definitely go here again."

  • "We had fun because we were a group celebrating a birthday, but the kitchen was extremely slow. The main course took two hours to receive ans was cold. By that time, it was close to midnight and too late to eat. The staff wanted to go home."

  • "Excellent brunch place! They should offer complimentary Bloody Mary's like the other restaurants in the area."
    Dined on 3/30/2014
  • "That's all I can say about everything! Great!! Can't wait for the weather to break so we can dine on the outdoor patio/bar. Michael-Angelo, was our host both times. The second time he recognized us as we checked out coats. He greeted us every warm and friendly. He made us feel familiar. Always good when your returning to an establishment. We met the GM Asif, as well he was also very friendly. He remembered our previous visit (brunch) with our sons. We will definitely be returning soon."

  • "Delicious!!! We will return without the children. Looks like it has romantic potential at night. The outside patio hasn't opened for the season as yet, however We can't wait to enjoy mimosas on the patio!"

  • "Although We enjoyed our Dinner, I think that your wine prices by the bottle (stellino pinot grigio for example) is priced at $30 on the computer wine list but at the restaurant is $40. I believe $30 is a fair price taking in its wholesale price of about $10. Maybe a revamp of your wine list is needed."

  • "I have been to this restaurant through all of the opening and closings with different names, and really never been disappointed. The wait staff was phenominal, and very attentive. Wednesday night is 50% off any bottle of wine. Menu has a lot of wonderful options, and there were plenty of daily specials to also choose from. Even though it is an hours drive from home, we will be going again."

  • "This was the first time I had brunch here, and it was fabulous. Food was superb, service attentive, and a very active scene. My only wish? Adding a Bloody Mary as a choice for the complimentary drinks. Recommended highly!"

  • "I've been here several times that they treat me as a regular. What does that mean? A very nice welcome by many people. The service and food are excellent as always. Recommended."

  • "What a beautiful setting for a restaurant with delicious good and terrific ambiance. Love the location and the best restaurant in the area!"

  • "I have come here a number of times - it has changed names a few times, Im not sure why. The location is beautiful and so is the restaurant with its romantic fireplce and cozy feel. Valet parking, amazing locale with wonderful views and right off where clerview and cross island meet. The food has always been good and at times inventive. We started with the octopus in some sort of light sauce and the wife had the ceasar with the white anchioves. Both were excellent and did not disappoint. While I wasnt crazy about the seabass stew it was nicely presented. The Branzino was very flavorful and the fingerling potatoes made a great side. If you are looking for that romantic Gem in Queens, this is probably it."
