Diner Reviews
  • "We had dinner at Vivace's new location, absolutely lovely. There were four of us, and each one ordered a different entrée. Everyone was exceptionally pleased with the food. The server was attentive, but not overbearing. We choose to eat on the patio. It felt as if we were eating at a Tuscan villa. We are looking forward to our next evening there. "

  • "A friend and I had lunch on the patio, and it was just lovely. We had a beautiful view of the mountains, the shaded table was perfect, and the food was outstanding. Our waiter was attentive but not intrusive, the grilled salmon sandwich was to die for, and I can't wait to visit Vivace's again!!"

  • "Recently treated an out of town guest to lunch here and it was outstanding! Great ambiance, nice city and mountain views made our time memorable. Highly recommended!"

  • "Food excellent and beyond. Service very slow but cordial. They knew we had a birthday but offered nothing. Not that we could have eaten anything more after their basil dipping oil, stuffed mushrooms, caesar salad, pork sorrentino. All totally worth a repeat, but sure hope they work on the service and noise."

  • "We met a group of friends at Vivace Saturday evening and had a wonderful experience!! The service was exceptional, food just amazing, a very celebratory atmosphere, and just a positive experience for our whole group. Thanks for making it so special!!"

  • "As always fabulous food, outstanding service. Our server, Michelle was very attentive and fun and of course our food yummy as always. I had the Burrata mozzarella cheese, prosciutto tomato dish, voila!! And cannaloni. And a complimentary tiramisu for our anniversary"

  • "Great meal with excellent appetizers and salads. Our group of 7 loved the new ambience and the fact that the tables were not too close together. The seafood lasagna was wonderful, as always and the mozzarella/tomato appetizer was delicious. Several of us ordered the Appie special of the day and passed it around for tasting due to it's exceptional taste. The only drawback was the half hour plus wait between getting our wine and our first course and the long wait for our main course, since it didn't seem overly busy. Service could have been much quicker. Due to the noise level, I would be inclined to eat on the beautiful, spacious patio the next time I go."

  • "We've been going here for seven years. It never disappoints, although some of the patrons did at the old location, meaning they would bring babies or talk on their cell phones.. Basically just rude and in the small location it bothered us. The new location is great, lots of room and from our night there they need it. The service, food, and views were just outstanding. Vivace is a gem, don't change!"

  • "Love the new Vivace's. More spacious and light. The food is still phenomenal, can't miss with the Spinach and Cheese Souffle."

  • "Always a favorite, Vivace's never fails to please. The food is fantastic, one of our favorite dishes is the Pork Sorentino. Everything I've had there is great. The service is consistently well-timed and attentive. When we dine there, we know it's going to be a great experience for the quality of the meal and the service. The new location is wonderful, elegant without being stuffy. Beautiful city views and a comfortable patio with views of the Catalina's."

  • "Love Vivace's new location! The food and service is as good as ever. What makes it so much more special is the setting and it's ambience . Love the fact that the tables are not on top of one another and the outdoor area is very special...very Tuscan like. It is somewhat noisier in the lower level but the views are fabulous. Quieter in the main area and you can still see out to the views or the patio. Made another reservation to go again in a couple of weeks...can't wait."

  • "Vivace's has transformed the former Anthony's location into a true mecca for dining. The scenery, of course, always has ben spectacular with the mountains on one side and the Tucson vista on the other. We dined in the courtyard which is beautifully appointed with desert plantings, an impressive fountain, and romantic lights. Our server was attentive, but not obtrusive--good-natured and sensitive to the pace of our dining. Vivace's always has been know for excellent food and that is still true. We had a lovely evening in a lovely setting and Vivace's definitely will be on our list for special dinners and a venue for out-of-town guests."

  • "The service left something to be desired; order of angel hair forgot the red sauce...had to ask to have desert...no refill offer on coffee...wait between courses inordinately long. The evening was saved by the ambiance of the patio and a beautiful evening. Perhaps these are bugs indigenous to the new location, but they stand our because they were never present in the old location."

  • "Vivace's will not disappoint. In his usual and expected fashion, Daniel provides a wonderful place to share a meal--excellent food, great service, beautiful restaurant."

  • "Great food, service and ambiance. Our out of town guests loved it. Really like the new location. Was surprised that service was so good based on how busy the restaurant was. Would come back and would recommend it to others!!!"

  • "As an old patron of Vivace I took my out of town guests for Lunch and they were impressed. Vivace's new location is superb, but its prominence comes from the consistent superior food. The service was a bit hurried and could be more attentive. Overall my friends went home talking about Vivace."

  • "We enjoyed very nice meals. Superb swordfish with a great greens salad on the side, The restaurant was essentially filled to capacity with happy dinners. We feel that we pulled into the last open parking space in the huge parking lot at one, PM. Never the less, we were greeted immediately and seated promptly by Roxanne. With the restaurant full, the wait-staff was moving rapidly and continuously. Even so, our waitress, Candace, went out of her way make us feel welcome and special. Thanks for another great meal."

  • "We've been Vivace fans forever, but the service was rather slow this night, even though the restaurant wasn't that busy. Also, I had mentioned that it was a special occasion, but the restaurant didn't do anything for us."

  • "We came to AZ in 2005 and this restaurant was the first one that was recommended to us. It has never let us down. We took five people with us this time who had never been before and you have five new fans!"

  • "We have been Vivace fans for many years. As world travelers we have encountered few restaurants that can compare. The food is always outstanding, the service always superb. The new location is the crowning glory. We love the beautiful views, and the patio is perfect much of the year. Parking is plentiful. We look forward to many more years of dining at Vivace."

  • "Vivace's new location is great. Easy parking, nice views, open airy dining room. Food as good as ever."

  • "The food was phenomenal. All 4 of us had something different and each of us loved it. Service was great. View of the Tucson valley from the windows. Great atmosphere. Parking lot is a bit of a steep climb so if you have older adults or people with disabilities in your party you may want to drop them off at the door and then park."

  • "When it opened Vivace's was a find--an exquisite place within a store-front. Wonderful food. Then it moved and was still pretty good in the space that another restaurant had occupied--with poor parking facilities. Now it had taken over a beautiful venue which went vacant when Anthony's closed and has done well with the physical space. However, the old dishes are not all there, and the fish special of the day, was bland. We look forward for the old Vivace's to happen."

  • "As usual, everything was outstanding. It never fails to exceed our expectations. There were two children in our group and they were treated very nicely and with patience. I will always recommend this restaurant as my favorite in Tucson."

  • "Our first visit to Vivace after the relocation to Campbell/Sunrise. We loved the old outdoor seating and were worried the new location couldn't match, but the new patio area is large and comfortable with spectacular views of the Catalinas. The food is among the best prepared, presented and quality anywhere in Tucson; Service is enthusiastic and attentive, and the overall ambiance is perfect for a romantic dinner. Looks like they have a lot more room and a nice private dining room for groups as well. Well done!"

  • "Vivace has moved to the foothills. It is the same wonderful restaurant only now it has a spectacular view! We were there for lunch and couldn't have been more pleased. Every dish ordered was all we could have hoped and the service was attentive as well. We - and all our friends - will be back!"

  • "We were celebrating birthdays as well as a send off to a good friend. So good choice on the views and the food was great. The noise level makes it a little difficult to carry on a conversation at times but worked through it. The service was a little slow in that the waiter took his time getting to us for drinks as well as decision on dinner choice. But overall the evening was good and we will take family there when they visit as well as just a couple of us!! Thanks"

  • "Vivace has been our favorite restaurant in Tucson for over three years. We were a little concerned by the move to a new location, a couple miles further north on N Campbell, but after two visits since the move, our concerns have vanished! The food is fabulous, the service excellent, the new decor is absolutely gorgeous (we like the bar in the entrance area even though we have not used it) and the view is spectacular. We look forward to our next visit!"

  • "This was our second visit, once for dinner, and our meal was superb.service was also excellent. Because we came with a handicapped person, they went out of their way to helpful with parking outside the restaurant. (The parking area was filled to capacity even at lunch) Only complaint was that the noise level was quite high. It was very hard to have a conversation until some of the crowd left."

  • "We ove to return to Tucson for great golf and Vivace's. Bar pours a big drink, one tumbler is a lot. Appetizer of escargot and artichoke hearts was fantastic. We each had the signature dishes, Veal Piccata and Pork Sorentino. So good we could not eat desert which is usually our favorite."

  • "We took our friend to Vivace for her 80th birthday lunch. We loved the new location and the food was just has great as it has always been in the past. It was our server's Hector first day at Vivace and he made the day really special for our friend. We are looking forward to returning. We sat outside on the patio which was really delightful."

  • "Six of us dined at our most favorite restaurant in Tucson. One couple joined us for the first time and their experience was excellent. Our other guests continues to be surprised at the high quality of service, food and cocktails. We have been dining at Vivace's for over 10 years and never have had any thing but a great experience. The salmon and rock shrimp dishes received top accolades while the sea bass eaters could not get over the flavor of the dish. The new location is great, the prices, the views, the ambience, the staff, the greeters, and the fabulous food cannot be matched anywhere in Tucson. Thanks for another wonderful evening!"
