  • "My boyfriend and I made reservations through Open Table. The NE weather was gorgeous. When we arrived there was 3-4 tables open outside. The hostess was very rude and refused to change our table to patio seating, she stated that we needed to specify patio seating when placing the reservation. The manager was also unsmpathetic and sited they were too busy with prom, but then said he was not aware that they would even be opening the patio that day. So we could not have make the patio request prior. We left and will not be returning. The 1st bad experience was back in November- service was rude and rushed. Food was awful with no apology or compensation. I was hoping for a redemptive experience- it didn't work out."

  • "I ordered the carbonara which ended up being burnt and bad tasting. I thought that i was being picky until the lady mext to us said I've ordered the carbonara a bunch of times and it's never tasted like this. The bread was great as was the desert."

  • "The food was great, however our waiter forgot to put in our appetizer and left us waiting for 20 mins for our bill after the table was cleared. We had a large group, but I didn't notice him waiting on other tables so I don't understand why it took so long. No manager visited our table nor did any of his co-workers offer t help him get us out the door. I would go back with a smaller group for the food."

  • "Hubby and I made reservations for our date night, and were very pleased. The waiter was pleasant, timely, and unobtrusive. The food (Salmon, Chicken Marsala) was wonderful, and the atmosphere was comfortable and relaxing. We'd definitely head there again when we're looking to spend time downtown."

  • "I usually take a group of clients there and in the past have been impressed with everything. This wasn't the case in my last visit. Although the host and bartender were very good, the service was average and the food was below the quality we've come to expect. My Chicken Parmesan was cold and mushy. We could have ht them on a bad night, so I'll probably try them again as we've had good experiences in the past."

  • "We decided to try a new place for date night. We were impressed and now have a new place to add to our lists of favorites. It is a beautiful restaurant. The wine list is very extensive. I ordered the flat iron steak and was impressed with the thick cut. The gorgonzola crust was amazing. Matched up with the mashed potatoes covered in demi glacé, it was a combination of comfort food and taste explosion! We can't wait to go back and try more dishes!"

They don't have a huge selection for a plant eater but they do have a terrific hummus on the appetizer menu and you can build your own pasta dish from various choices. We had the rigalatori with grilled vegetables and marinara. Terrific!"

  • "My wife and I decided to try Vivace the other night for the first time. Service was prompt and friendly. Ambiance was also very nice. However, the food was just ok in my opinion. My wife had the alfredo pasta with shrimp and a caesar salad. She was very underwhelmed with both. For me, I ordered the beef wellington with the goulash soup. First, the goulash soup was outstanding! I could have eaten many more bowls of that. The beef wellington was just ok. Beef was amazingly tender, but was severly lacking in flavor. Vivace is a nice place with OK food--for the price. Just don't expect to be blown away."

  • "The appetizers were great, but the entres were terrible. The service was extremely poor. Our waiter seemed to forget about our table. he never he checked to see how our meal was. A hostess asked how the food was and got mad thatI didn't like it, she grabbed my plate and took off with it. Five minutes later she cme back with the same plate and expected me ti eat it. My husbnd's meal was not good either. We had to wait over 20 minutes for our bill after asking for it. This place isn't worth the price. Olive Garden has better food and service."

  • "We were met at the door and immediately seated for our 7 o'clock reservation. Our server greeted us & introduced herself. Throughout the evening she would check on our needs but never was pushy. She let us dictate the pace of our meal. The food from the dates to the grilled salmon & carbonara to the dessert was simply superb. Our entire evening was very enjoyable. We will definitely return!"

  • "The service was very exceptional. I found the risotto to be too large of a portion even for it being the star of the dish. I also found it slightly overcooked and under seasoned. The steak was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. For the other dish the beef tenderloin was under seasoned and slightly undercooked. The sunchokes and the bone marrow farro were delicious. All and all it was a nice experience and will go back to try other options on the menu."

  • "The atmosphere, decor, service, and wine list were all good. I thought it would be a great experience for a romantic dinner. I ordered the balsamic salmon and my date ordered the chicken parmesan. Both his chicken and my salmon were dry. I sent back the salmon. I felt it should have been much better, considering the price. Before bringing a second plate, the waitress informed me that it was pre-baked, and they warm it up before serving. She said they would try their best. It came out more moist, but luke-warm. The second option she presented, after bringing out the second plate, was for them to grill a fresh piece of salmon. Why was that the back-up plan? The sides were also not seasoned or cooked well. We will not be returning."

My husband loved the lobster alfredo dish and my son loved the chicken roulade! We love the Old Market area for special occasions."

  • "First time at Vivace. We were with friends who we traveled with to Italy recently so trying out lots of Italian restaurants. It's a "busy" place, but our server was good and the manager in charge also checked in our table at the end of our dining. The dates were wonderful as were the pork shank and gnocchi. Probably the only food we weren't "sold" on was the pizza. The person ordering it ate the topping off and left the crust. We will definitely return."

  • "The restaurant was fine, the reservations process though, needs a little work. I tried to change my reservatoin from 8 people to 4 online but was unable to do so.When the group showed up for the dinner, they were seated at a table for 8 for an interview with 4 people."

  • "Service was pretty lousy - server had no knowledge of wine selections (when asked if the restaurant carried any N Zealand Sauvignon Blanc her reply was “I don’t know - do you want me to bring you a second wine list so you can both look through?", had no utensils to eat with when the main course was delivered by another server and it took forever to get our check and receipt. We had to go the hostess stand twice to get a napkin and ask for the wine that we ordered with dinner. When the wine did arrive the bottle was a 09 vintage when the menu stated it was a 07 - don't proclaim to have a great wine list if it's not updated. The marsala and piccata veal dishes were delicious and we would consider coming back due to the chefs behind the scene."
