Its a cute place, but needs updating, along with it's staff. They ran out of lobster.

A lot of people give this place a lot of criticism. Either the critics are full of nonsense or the owners listened and made the appropriate changes. THIS PLACE WAS GREAT! My family went on a Friday night and it was not too busy. We had made a reservation but it wasn't necessary. We also used a Groupon without difficulty which allowed us to try a great array of their delicious menu. I had the special Veal and Eggplant Urbino which was exquisite. I cook quite a bit of Italian food and this place does it right! My dad got the Chicken Sicily at the waiter's recommendation and it was also amazing. No complaints about this place and it deserves a whole lot more respect than the reviews give them. GO SEE FOR YOURSELF!

Food was not good at all. I ordered chicken Marsala. The dish had no flavor and the chicken was like rubber. My wife ordered eggplant parm and it tasted like it was microwaved. The waiter seemed bothered to wait on us and there were 3 people in the restaurant on a Saturday night.

I return again and again here for some favorite dishes. I am never disappointed. The food is always well-prepared and delicious. The service is attentive. The location is central to downtown making it very convenient and a wonderful alternative to other restaurants in the area.

The food was very good especially the eggplant parm. I would definitely go back and have it again. There was music in the lounge so it was loud in the restaurant and the waiter had a soft voice making it hard to hear. We received very good service once we ordered with one major flaw. They had run out of Parmigiana cheese which was dissapointing. How does an Italian restaurant not have parmigiana cheese on a Friday night at 6pm?

We decided to celebrate Mother's Day on Saturday night. I chose Viva Bene as a change of pace from our usual favorites. This was our first time, and it will be our last time, at Viva Bene. We were seated in the bar area, which might not have been so awful, except that the bartender was our waiter, which made for poor service. We were also seated immediately across from the only two people at the bar who were compelled to share their conversation with the entire room. My wife and I ordered the veal parmigiana. It was inedible for the most part. The veal was tough and the sauce was way too spicy. Our son barely touched his chicken caesar salad. A really bad dining experience! The only bright spot were the drinks.

I had excellent food here. The only problem was that it got very noisy around 8:30 PM.

Tom K, our server was very attentive, without being too attentive; he knew the menu very well, and was part of a great dining experience. The seafood Fra Diavalo was well prepared with lots of fresh shellfish, and was a savory meal. I would definitely go back to this venue..
