Diner Reviews
  • "Over 1.5 hours seated. We saw one round of drinks (they were the wrong drinks and the beer was warm) and a bread basket. Unbelievably poor experience. We left without eating."

  • "We ate here prior to our show at the Fox Theater. The evening was very nice and we sat outside. The atmosphere was pleasant, if a little bit noisy because of traffic. The food was very good with generous portions. It was a little bit busy so the service was a bit slow but it was okay as we had allotted plenty of time before our show. Would go there again."

  • "The service was very good; however, the food taste was so-so. Enjoyed the toasted ravioli, but the calamari and bruschetta were just fair."

  • "Thought this would be incredible pizza based revues. Yea, well not so. Both the original and the Sicilian were ok. Unfortunately we arrived at that hour after the lunch rush is cleared out and dinner service is being set. Pizza came out quickly, wait staff was friendly but distracted. Must be a campus hang out that puts it on top of the heap."

  • "Vito's is right down the street from the Fox Theater, which was perfect for us. We split the Sicilian pizza, which is very good and filling. Very tasty and flavorful. Wait staff was prompt and gave us time for visiting."

  • "We usually visit Vito's when we attend the Fox Theatre. It's in a good location and within walking distance to the theatre. My favorite dish is the Seafood Ravioli which is just the right portion size and goes well with the Caesar Salad. I recently took a friend there who had never been before and she really enjoyed the Seafood Ravioli as well. We also ordered Chianti wine that had a wonderful flavor that went well with our meal. The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere where you can dress up or dress down depending on the occasion. We look forward to visiting again possibly for lunch for a more casual experience. I'd love to try the pizza - there was a wide selection of choices and toppings. Can't wait to return."

  • "The restaurant is a great destination before a show at the Fox Theatre. Get there early and get good free parking and have dinner and drinks. Short walk to the theatre and stop in after the show for a drink and talk about the experience. The wait staff wasn't pushy about leaving on time. Our table was ready at our reserved time. Dress anywhere from jeans to a suit and you will fit in. Great casual dining and some very nice dishes on the menu along with great pizza."

  • "Service was friendly, helpful and attentive. The food came quickly and was very good. We all enjoyed the evening. All six of our party enjoyed different selections from the menu and no one was disappointed."

  • "Easy on-line reservations. Convenient walking distanc to the theater district. Good food with pleasant and courteous service."

  • "We went because it was close to the Fox theater. There were four of us for dinner. The tables were too small and it was very thght and uncomfortable. The food was just okay, nothing special. No pepper was offered for the salads, veggies were cold, not a much seasoning used. They need to offer black napkins as everyone was wearing black pants and the white napkins left everyone with white lint all over their clothes. Not sure I would go back. We'll try somewhere else next time...."

  • "Although the restaurant was fairly crowded the waitress (Emma) was efficient and attentive to us and all of her tables. The food was delicious and I loved the red wine Sangria - wine, Amaretto, and Peach Schnapps yum! It was a great place before attending We Will Rock You at the Fox."

  • "I encountered Vito's at the Taste of St. Louis and finally made it for dinner. I had a wonderful experience with Tara, my server and the food was excellent. I tried the SUPER and it delivered on its name. Accompanied by the local craft ale, Schlafly Winter Ale, it was a perfect meal. Cost was better than expected and I was thrilled with the entire experience."

  • "We dined at 5 PM on a Sunday. The food was excellent. The calzones were great. The tutto mare was overpriced for the portion size. Service was good but a trifle slow."

  • "Very good italian food close to the Fox theatre. We park near the Fox and walk to Vito's. nice waitstaff and good food. Bread is yummy. Salads good as are the flatbreads- but i call it pizza. The pasta dishes are delicious."

  • "This restaurant is just across the street from SLU. We sometimes visit after my wife finishes up an evening class. The service was quick, and we enjoyed the food. They have a wide variety of choices, and top-notch pizza."

  • "We were a part of 3, and second time visiting Vito's. Enjoyed all aspects of the experience. Dinner took a bit long to arrive, which made us a bit anxious as we had theatre tickets. However, it worked out and the food---lasagna, and cavatelli, were very good. Clean, pleasant atmosphere and professional and courteous staff. Overall good experience, will return, and drfinitely recommend."

  • "Have not been to Vito's Sicilian Pizzeria & Restorante before but will return. Just lost a lot of weight and do not eat pizza or pasta, but the salads and salmon were excellent. Exchanged the rice for steamed veggies and it was excellent. The atmosphere is great and the ambiance is really nice. A great place to dine before any show on Grand or in the vicinity. Service was very good and professional while not pushy."

  • "I made reservations a month in advance, and then because Elf was playing at the fox we were shoved into a small corner by the kitchen. We couldn't even take our coats off without bumping into someone, and although the table was already too small for pizza and salads (which came out moments before dinner)... the server didn't clear the table. She was nice, but I think she 'paid' more attention to the large groups.. $$$. I've gone before to Vitos and it was dead. I think Vitos should of put priority to a customer whom made a reservation and was a regular... rather than the instant customers that came based only on proximity. I may try Vitos again, but after this experience I'm not likely to refer anyone."

  • "Enjoyed our evening. The food was great and no it portions that were overwhelming. The prices were reasonable. And the service was fast and friendly."

  • "Our waiter was delightful! The food was great! Fair portions, not too much but not too little either! Our table was romantic for two, yet I felt as if we were having dinner with the table for four next to us. Felt as if our waiter was leaning over our table to take our dinner orders as people walked behind him. I had a wonderfully memorable experience at Vito's, especially with the little calamari!! Haha! We'll definitely be back to try the gelato!"

  • "Vito's is plain. Plain and simple...the best joint on the block!! Pizza is perfection. Looking forward to going back soon!"

  • "Vito's was recommended by a friend. We made an online reservation which worked out well. They sat us at a tiny table for two, even though it wasn't busy yet. There wasn't much elbow room. We ordered the seafood ravioli which my husband liked, but there weren't many of them. I had the spaghetti carbonara, which unfortunately was very liquidy and greasy. I felt like I had to let the liquid drain to the bottom of the bowl before eating the noodles. The taste was good, just too greasy for me. Our waiter Dustin did a good job of checking on us and refilling drinks. The support staff were all pleasant and attentive as well. The ambiance was nice. It was just ok for me."

  • "We has reservations and we called We were running late by 10 min! We arrived at 640 ish and waited to sit til 710 we had tickets to the Fox to see Elf Barely made it to see the beginning of show !! We were sat in the bar that looked as if the table was just out there with folding chairs that was squeezed between two other tables with no room at all?!! For the 4 of us! We couldn't order what we wanted cuz time was limited!! It was as if no one really new what was going on.. It's ashame because the time before My experience was amazing that's why I returned with new people this time.. Too bad the experience was terrible one in which everyone at the table said they would never return!"
