"Disappointing! I went back after a long absence. I used to really enjoy the food here but the menu has changed and the prices seem a little high for what's become mediocre food. I took the server's recommendation for Chicken Parmagiana and it was pretty unremarkable and the side of spaghetti was overwhelmed by sauce. We were told they couldn’t serve the Veal Saltimbocca because their shipment of prosciutto from Italy didn't arrive (really??). Near the end of the meal I realized we hadn’t been offered bread. I checked nearby tables and no bread either. An Italian restaurant that doesn't automatically serve bread?! I had hoped for the same menu and dining experience I remembered from the past but sadly, that was not the case."

"Had the most amazing wine (pinot noir) that is sold only to restaurants. Our waiter was amazing! Friendly, knowledgable! The restaurant is under renovation so can't really discuss the ambiance. Look forward to visiting it again!"

"Paid too much for the food we got. Most restaurants have entrees for half the price and it tastes better and is a larger portion. Was disappointed with the chicken picatta - I've never seen such a small amount of food on the plate for the amount of money I paid!"

"The service from the valet, hostess, wait staff was fantastic. All were very genuine and friendly and eager to make sure we had anything we wanted. The Jane's Salad was disappointing with mainly iceberg lettuce and very little cheese or goodies to be found. The calamari was ok however and the pasta special was fantastic. Nice to be served fresh coffee and wine list was extensive. We will return. Overall good meal with excellent service and fair prices."

"we have been dinning here for years. THe menu changes with new ownership, but the help stays around. So if you remember your favorite dish they will usually accommodate your needs.
Since February they are remodeling, like all remodels it's a mess. They seem to be opening up the Moorpark Ave wall ,the faux painting of Italy is gone, the main dinning area will be changed forever. Maybe they still are trying to make a nightclub out of it. Farewell to our beloved Vitello's."

"the place is under construction, so the ambiance was not good at all. I'm willing to go back when it's completed but I'll make sure to call first. There were a couple of babies crying which isn't the restaurants fault but made our experience worse. We ordered appetizers but they brought out the salads first and we had to remind them. Then they brought the wrong calamari dish, and when pointed out, just shrugged it off. No offer to give correct order or comp the bill. 3 of the five of us liked our food. The 2 that didn't ordered the prawn special & were disappointed in the dry meat and difficulty getting it out of the shell without it shredding to pieces. My pizza with artichokes, peppers and prosciutto was very good. Alfredo good."

"We went to Upstairs at Vitello's to see a jazz concert. It was fantastic. Very nice venue for this type of music. The food was very good and the service was fine. All in all a fun evening."

"I had a blast with my date, who became my girlfriend officially that night, and Vitellos helped make it memorable! Everything was perfect, from a great menu, to amazing wine and dessert. Definately coming back!!"
