    Parties at Virgil’s are for the young at heart: they’re fun, festive and casual. Kick back and check your day at the door. Groups of 15 or more will choose from specially designed menus created by our Executive Chef. We offer down home appetizers including our famous Trainwreck Fries, Hush Puppies, and BBQ Chicken Wings. The main course includes delicious smoked Memphis Pork Ribs, pulled Carolina Pork, Owensboro Lamb, and sliced Texas Beef Brisket. To complete the BBQ experience, enjoy our Baked Beans, Country Greens, Mac and Cheese, Cole Slaw, and Potato Salad.

  • "Unfortunately we were not able to take advantage of our reservation at Virgil's. We had a 6:00pm reservation. We arrived at 5:45pm. Asked to wait for a few minutes, we had to move to a very crowded bar area. A little after six, the waiter came through to escort us to our table. The table presented to us was near the front entrance, a noisy, main isle, high traffic area. We asked for an alternative seating. According to the receptionist, they weren't able to provide an alternate for 15/20min's and couldn't guarantee where the seating would be. We left."

We got a platter to share which was huge! More than enough food for 2 people making the price extremely reasonable. Would highly recommend this place, and perfectly located for a pre-show dinner."

  • "We selected Virgil's for before show dinner and because we love BBQ. We were seated for our 6:30pm Open Table reservation at 6:45pm. This was only because someone did not respond when called and I asked to take their place. Can you imagine that at 6:45 on a Saturday evening the restaurant ran out of baby back ribs? We settled for smoked chicken whcih was okay. The manager was very nice and offered the 4 of us 2 deserts to compensate. The noise level is very high and there are crowds at the bar where you wait to be seated. Fortunately, this is a fast food BBQ so we got to the show on time."

We sat downstairs near the bar,so it was really bustling. I might try to get a seat upstairs next time. We had Pulled Pork, ribs and chicken, all delicious. All the sides were good, especially cornbread and mac & cheese. For dessert we had Peanut butter Pie and Chess Pie, both really rich and delicious."

  • "virgils is that old standby in the theater district it's crowded loud and full of good vibes the food is pricy because it's in the theater district but it never disappoints the wait staff is well trained and well versed in what virgils serves we enjoy going there because it's not that far to get to our primary destination which is the theater food is good ambiance is good prices are well they are what they are it is the city after all so we love virgils and will always go there when we go to the theater district for lunch"

While mistakes sometimes are made, I noticed another large party nearby question their bill. When I asked the head of that table, same waiter, same problem... Maybe that is the game that gets played with tourists."

  • "I have been many times to Virgil's and always enjoy it. Good ribs, great beef choices, what's not to like? Had the baby back ribs special, and they were cooked perfectly. It was a huge meal, actually too much to eat though I tried. Wish they had taken off membrane from bones which would have made them kore tender."
