  • "We have been to Violette many times and never get tired of this restaurant. The food is well prepared and nicely presented. The chocolate mousse is delicious as are their other desserts. We love this restaurant and although it isn't convenient to us, it is a nice "destination" restaurant."

  • "Live Piano music, great style! Beautiful flowers and setting! The chicken with puff pastry was divine!"

  • "Rather surly waitress. No birthday mousse as promised, raw fish, and we were not asked if we even wanted dessert or coffee. Would not recommend for kids--only noodles and french fries offered."

  • "Lately I have been celebrating friends' birthdays at Violette- twice in two weeks. They handle big parties very easily. Service is great. I am a vegetarian, so I can only speak for the salads and pasta, which were good, not great. It's a bit pricey for what you get. Good wine, nice people, great atmosphere."

  • "This was a great place to get together with friends. The service was good and the food was good. It was quiet and worth the money."

  • "Violette's is a small, friendly, quiet restaurant. It has live music if you like, but you can sit in the back where you can hear the music but without it interfering with conversation. Everything on the menu is excellent."

  • "We took friends who had never been. They loved it, couldn't believe they had lived in Atlanta 40 years and had never heard of it, and they want to go back soon."

  • "Violette is a great hidden gem off the beaten path. Great music, food and service - particularly on the weekends. One of our favorites."

  • "Violette is my favorite restaurant in the Atlanta metro area. It has good food, good wine, nice ambience, and great staff."

  • "Wait staff was understaffed. Meal came out of sequence, salad before bread or drinks, entree almost immediately after the salad, slow to bring check. They were obviously understaffed. However the food was very good and I would come back for that. It was loud thus not romantic. Did not have the opportunity to dine outdoors due to the weather"

  • "This was a great place to relax over a meal. I have a life-threatening food allergy and Violette's worked with me and served me a terrific meal. I had the trout and it was perfect. My husband enjoyed his beef tenderloin as well. The live music, piano +1, made for a special evening. We will return."

  • "Violette's is a warm, comfortable restaurant that serves good food. There is valet parking outside and a piano player inside. It is actually quiet enough that we could talk to our dining companions without shouting or straining to hear each other (something that is getting increasingly rare in Atlanta!). We did not order wine, so I cannot speak to the wine list. The food is well-prepared and arrived at the table in a timely manner. Desserts were delicious!"

  • "Had a business lunch with someone staying at a hotel near this restaurant and it was a great place to be able to talk and get done what we needed. It's a really sweet little place, very warm atmosphere, terrific service. They were out of the crab cakes, the eggplant was tough and chewy, but overall, not too bad. I had the coq a vin and it was delicious. Our meeting went way over the lunch hour and we were the last ones left, and they cleaned around us very quietly and allowed us to stay as long as we needed."

  • "Violette's is a local restaurant that has consistently offered an excellent French-oriented menu in a relaxed atmosphere for many years. It's a great place for lunch or dinner."

  • "There were five of us, and we had all been to Violette separately; however, Violette has a keyboard / singer playing Tuesday - Friday that all of us had heard previously (Penelope Williams) . So, we decided to gather for dinner and to listen to some great music. None of us was disappointed - in the food or the entertainment. We weren't expecting to get to listen to a clarinet player who happened to be a senior citizen. What a TERRIFIC surprise, and one that we all agreed needs to be a repeat performance! Everything was GREAT - the food, the service, our fellow diners, and the ENTERTAINMENT! What a wonderful night! Thank you, Viotette!"

  • "I have to admit - I'd forgotten how much I actually like French food until I visited Violette recently. We had the salmon spread with toast, which was lovely with a mix of butter lettuce, grape tomatoes, and red onions. That, with a bottle of wine, green salad with green apple, walnuts and gruyere with our meals - perfection! I had the beouf burguignon and my friend had the stuffed chicken. We were both too full to consider desert, but they sounded yummy. We had great service all evening, and I'd definitely recommend it."

  • "Violette is DEFINITELY one of the top three French restaurants in the Atlanta,Ga. metroploitan area! The service has ALWAYS been top notch and the wine appropriate. The food has NEVER dissapointed. Cudos to the Chef,Servers and Pianist. It would be icing on the cake if it the restaurant parking were more easily accessible from the well trafficked Clairmont Road I-85 exit."

  • "This pace is super cute from the outside. My wife and I had been wanting to go so we finally made a reservation. There's not much about the food that's French. She had the spinach ravioli, which she didn't eat. I ordered the crab cakes which we didn't find out until 20 minutes after placing the order were no longer available. So I had the NY Strip instead, which was tolerable at best. Our server was friendly and tried to take care of us as best he could. They comped one of the meals. It's my understanding that this is part of old Atlanta and it's an established place. In my opinion this place is dated and out of its league in a town with such fantastic food."

  • "The ambience is a welcome relief from the typical industrial noise you get in many of the trendy restaurants today. The service was excellent. The salads were large and very good. The house wine was inexpensive and good. The entrees were mediocre and for the price not worth it, For salad and a glass of and atmosphere I can recommend this restaurant. But they do need to do something with the entrees. I had the New york strip that was tough and my wife had the trout...the dogs loved it."

  • "My wife and I have been to this restaurant on several occasions. Our prior experiences were great and this was one of our favorite restaurants, however, our last dining experience was awful due to horrible service. Our waiter seemed to be disinterested in serving us and was quite indifferent to us being there. After about 15-20 minutes of initially receiving our menus, the waiter finally came around to take our order. Then the wait time for our food took another 30 or so minutes. The food was not up to the usual Violette standards that we had experienced in the past. Once we completed our meal, it took the waiter another 15 minutes to deliver our check. We will not be returning after this experience."

  • "The food was good but not outstanding as it has been in the past. The server was cool and efficient but not friendly. Perhaps she had too many tables."

  • "For many years, Violette has been our "special" spot for birthdays, anniversaries, or any event that calls for a romantic setting. The food is always excellent and the service wonderful. The live piano music as background lends a special ambiance to our dining experience"

  • "I have to say that I've been to Violette many times and up until this last time the food was always very good. however, my daughter and I went the day after Valatine's day when they were still doing a price fix menu. The food was very ordinary. Not even hot. So, maybe not a place for big holidays but otherwise I would highly reccomend it"

  • "We visited Violette for Valentine's Day. The meal was a set plan and was very good, although the dessert we chose was a little disappointing. We will come back on a day when the restaurant is not so busy."

  • "It has been years since dining here so we were looking forward to going back! Went on Valentines day. "Average" experience to say the very best... The restaurant scene in Atlanta has changed for the better and Violette did not keep up. Outdated and marginal food/service. Would not recommend this place now. Too many other restaurants are so much better - especially for the price."

  • "Violette is is my new favorite restaurant, even though it's a trek to go there from Johns Creek, but it's worth every mile! Every single bite is an "Oh, wow!", if you like French food, which I do and the other two people I dined with. Their dishes were just as superb; and nice thing is that the total bill was not outrageous! The ambiance was not impressive (otherwise I would have given a 5 star rating), but the piano player made up for it. Our server was excellent and very helpful, and so was the hostess. Be sure to try a dessert, as well. Bon Appetit!"

  • "They must have been short staffed. Our server very rude and sarcastic. Finally warmed up at end when things slowed down. Place has lovely white tablecloths and fabulous piano music. Meal (I had trout) was maybe the best I've ever had!"

  • "We love Violette! The food is perfectly French in it's preparation and presentation. This is the type of place you go to when you want a really European experience in both food and pace. Incredible!"

  • "Violette is an excellent restaurant, with good food at reasonable prices and a reasonably priced wine, beer and alcohol. The service is attentive but not disruptive and you are not rushed. A good choice to visit no matter the occasion."

  • "The management reserved a special table for us in full view of the piano. They also brought two glasses of champagne in celebration. Our dinner was excellent. However our server seemed to lose interest in us after another table arrived. He got our appetizer order wrong and there were extended periods of time when we didn't see him. At one point we had to ask another server to locate our server. I would still highly recommend the restaurant and certainly will return and bring friends with us."

  • "This was our 2nd time at the restaurant. The first time the experience was merely passable. This time it was just unacceptable. We were there for 45 minutes and not a single thing was right and we didn't eat a thing. Our server seemed inexperienced and overwhelmed. They lost our first course (salads) completely. Our server told us our food was coming about 25 minutes into waiting and when it arrived, my fiance's meal wasn't as described. They offered to fix it and took away my meal since it was just getting cold waiting for hers. They arrived with hers but mine was no where to be seen. They had lost it too. After waiting yet another 10 minutes for my food, we gave up and left. This level of service is deplorable."
