The service has always been Vintner's downfall. Servers may abandon you for 45 minutes at a time. On this past occasion, we didn't see a server for 40 minutes after our drink orders were taken. It is on Charleston, 10 minutes or so, west of the 15 Freeway. The restaurant is modern and lovely. We sat outside on a warm evening. Service excellent, and professiona.l (Michael).We started with a 3 cheese platter..They have an extensive cheese list and make their own cheese, as well. The 10 year old cheddar was out of this world as was the mine shaft aged Blue cheese. My wife had Halibut and I had a chicken dish, both delicious. We split a generous salad, which they graciously served separated. It was windy when we were there but some people were eating outside and seemed to enjoy it. We had a flatbread (ie, a pizza) and the moroccan spiced lamb spare ribs. We really liked the flatbread and the spare ribs seemed dry and bland. The servers seemed like out of an old-style place with middle-aged men who had been working there for quite a while. Our waiter was a bit cool at first but opened up. It was a great start. After we sat, a waiter came promptly to get our drink order explaining our waitress was elsewhere but would be back with our drinks soon. Which she was. She was really friendly and efficient. With the exception of a medrare steak cooked at best medwell, our food was great. Treviso, burrata salad, osso buco and crab ravioli were all delicious. The food is definitely the highlight: Bouillabaisse to die for, Lamb Short Ribs a nice surprise, Caesar Salad with Prosciutto looked and tasted fantastic and let's not forget Butterscotch Creme Brûlée...yum.
