Diner Reviews
  • "We have now become regulars here! Whether its family as a whole, or a date night with my longtime boyfriend, meeting up for lunch with my sons, happy hour with my girlfriends, get together with colleagues, you name it, it's this venue we always pick to meet up. My son chose Vintana's to celebrate his birthday with just the family and of course his girlfriend. Service was excellent as always, he was treated with a birthday dessert, and the family was seated in a nice quaint area so we can enjoy our conversations with each other. Love the lobster mac-n-cheese! Love the well drinks! Thanks for making it special for us!"

  • "I took my family to Vintana for a special family celebration and we had a wonderful evening. The service was perfect! From the moment we entered until the moment we left, the service was always exactly on-time. Before we were even seated, the bartender was there taking our drink orders. The hostess had our reservations ready and smoothly led us to our table. At the table, our server was fun, patient and knowledgeable. The food was top-notch. Good portions, innovative menu with creative flair. Everyone wanted to try everything; unfortunately we couldn't so we will have to return another night. We had a super evening, thank you. This was our first time at Vintana's, it wouldn't be our last."

  • "The food was not good. The ahi was very fishy. The lamb was chewy and tough. Service was bizarre."

  • "Excellent drink menu, great food, beautiful restaurant. This isn't the kind of place you go to for a quick dinner though. The service is great but it's definitely a sit down, relax and enjoy the food kind of place."

  • "Vintana is one of the Cohn Restaurant Group, all of which are extremely good. The food and the presentation were uniformly excellent, although one of our party was disappointed with the lobster mac and cheese. The hit of the evening was the Kung Pao calamari appetizer, which is large enough to share. Interesting location on the top of the Lexus dealer in Escondido."

  • "One of my favorite restaurants! Everything about Vintana is wonderful."

  • "My initial thought of a restaurant over a Lexus dealership was less than positive, but I was completely surprised when we saw the view and experienced this one of a kind restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. One of the best Vodka Bars I have ever seen. If you like Vodka, this is the place to go"

  • "The service was excellent--we were not rushed. Love the open yet quiet atmosphere and unique location. Food was tremendous, especially the brie starter. My steak au poivre and frittes were done to perfection!"

  • "awesome food!!! the rock shrimp corn fritters were to die for"

  • "Everything was great except the service. Our waiter, Alex, I think, decanted the wine and we never saw a waiter swirl around the decanter for 30 seconds or so before. It ended up sloshing out of the decanter and onto the table and almost on one of our friends at the table. We had to keep getting his attention and he didn't check with us as he walked by. The food was really excellent, and we've never had this service experience before (we've been there several times), so I'd still recommend it."

  • "We have been to Vintana for many occasions and have always had a memorable time. Great and innovative food, excellent service and pleasant atmosphere. We recommend Vintana to all of our friends because we are lucky enough to have them in our neighborhood! Their appetizer menu is the best!"

  • "Brought the girls here for our bride to be. We all lived the service and food. One of the girls did complain about her food being a little too salty but they were they were willin to change her meal without any attitude. The food was great and there wasn't any other complaints!! If I were to drive to San Diego, I will definitely come back for another fancy wine an fine!!"

  • "Vintana has a date night special they have been running for several weeks on Tuesdays. We were a little disappointed that they appear to have scaled back their food offering. Friends had been a few weeks ago and received salad with their entrée. We received only the entrée and bottle of wine, which didn't include any vegetables or other accompaniment, including salad."

  • "I made reservations at Vintana for my mother's birthday and she was excited and impressed with the restaurant. It is a beautiful restaurant with stunning views, if you get there before sunset. The waiters and bartenders were very hospitable and helpful in selecting foods and drinks."

  • "We went on a Tuesday night. Although the restaurant was busy, we had excellent service. Waiter was knowledgable about the menu, offered great suggestions , paced dinner appropriately. Our meal was delicious. We look forward to our next visit."

  • "Vintana's is in a unique location, atop the Escondido Lexus Dealer. Thankfully, they fixed the chairs, which was my only complaint. The services is superb and consistent. The food is Deborah Scott delicious! (and they take my Passport Card!) Celebrating my friend's 62nd birthday and retirement, being pamperedat a table near the window with a leisurely lunch was heaven. (and a free warm banana pudding for desert!) If you lunch on Mondays and they will wash your car for free. What's not to like?"

  • "My husband and I absolutely love this place. The view is amazing, the service impeccable, and the food always leaves us looking forward to a return visit to try something new! The mussels were delicious and the kung pao calamari amazing--I can't wait to go back and have it again! The skirts on fire salad is light yet flavorful and fresh. The crusted seabass was not only perfectly cooked but all of the components on the plate just sang! Loved watching the sun set over a glass of wine with amazing food!"

  • "My boyfriend and I just moved to the area from Hawaii. We have been traveling all the way downtown to places like Roy's for romantic dinners. We spent close to 200$ on valentines day and couldn't believe how expensive it was. Sad thing is, we ended up going to in and out afterwards!! We made reservations at Vintana for our anniversary and we were more than impressed. The atmosphere is beautiful, clean, and well put together. We were seated and brought amazing food along with service all for a very appropriate price. I couldn't believe how wonderful each element was. We easily made Vintana our favorite restaurant."

  • "Food was ok with the star being the nut covered Brie appetizer -- My rib-eye was a bit overdone as was my wifes fish-- Nice ambiance with the noise level a bit high for my taste -- Expect to spend $150 + for 2 people with wine and 3 course meal --"

  • "We have eaten here several times and have never been disappointed with anything we have ordered. I love the lobster mac and cheese. It is easily splitable and it comes with a small side of salad. I especially appreciate the great healthy choices available on the children's menu. Other restraunts should use Vintana as a model."

  • "Food was fantastic! Everything we had was so delicious. The service was amazing!"

  • "Food was good. Soup of the day was very good. Filet and Chicken were cooked well, moist and tender. Deserts looked good, buy was too full to try one. Walked thru the outside area on the way out. Decided we would return to try that when the weather warms a bit. Wait staff was only fair. Not attentive enough for my liking. They were plea sent and knowledgeable. Just didn't show themselves often enough."

  • "Have hear nothing but great reviews from a friend about Vintana. Especially the popovers. We arrived for a 1:00 lunch - no popovers - cold , chewey baguette. Cuban sandwich prepared different than ordered - too much mustard. Fish and chips were in edible. Fish tasted "fishy" and old. Sweet potato fries were limp and cold. I've met Chef Debra on two occasions - not sure if she's associated w this venture... But know she would be appalled! I've been to every Cohn restaurant many, many, times... Either the chef was out, or the quality has slipped."

  • "We enjoyed the dining experience at Vintana's as a special thank you to two wonderful friends who helped up through a traumatic medical situation. The meal was excellent as was the service. And, yes, there is a view from the restaurant, even for Escondido. We are happy to have Vintana's in our community."

  • "First time here. Location is weird. View of new cars and freeway strange. Signage to parking is not big enough. Bartender was polite professional. Noticed lots of old people as customers. Hostess was cute, polite and attractive. Dininiga area is classy and waitress was attentive and professional. The carne asada was excellent. The chicken was decent. Nothing spectacular. To be honest the whole place is pretentious but perhaps with a group the vibe would be better. Go downtown instead."

  • "What a treat this restaurant was. My husband and I were visiting San Diego for business and went to Vintana on a friend's advice. It was truly lovely. The food, service, view, atmosphere was perfect. I'd definitely recommend it and I will go back next time I'm in San Diego."

  • "What a fun spot this is! Restaurant is big and beautiful with lots of different areas (bar, dining room, private room, patio) ... all with spectacular views. Food was fantastic. Hard to beat their "skirts on fire" salad. I'll definitely be back for the Tuesday night date night - 2 entrees and a bottle of wine for $50."

  • "The food was good and the restaurant is beautifully decorated. However, the service is still very slow. I was hoping that it had improved since my last dining experience, however, this had not improved. The wait was too long from the salad to the entrée. It was a busy Saturday night but the kitchen and chef should have been prepared."

  • "Everything was great except the desert menu. We had a hard time to find what we wanted on the desert menu, we decided to have the 3 ice cream. It was not good at all. Please work on the desert menu then your restaurant can be almost THE PLACE to dine out. Thanks for listening. Tom"
