I love Vintana's. It is one of my favorite Cohn restaurants. Unfortunately a some what bad review due to the service. The restaurant was virtually empty for our 2:00 reservation. We had to wait from being acknowledged by our server, receiving our entree ,and getting our check. Our food was phenomenally amazing. We will be back.

We took our mother to celebrate her birthday and the entire staff went out of their way to make her feel so special. The dinners were outstanding. The rib eye was the best I have ever tasted, my mother had the Lobster Mac and Cheese, and we also ordered the macadamia, coconut sea bass. DELICIOUS. We had an excellent waiter Stefan, and he truly made our dining experience wonderful. The manager came over to the table as did the chef, Debra Scott. NOW that is what I call 5-star service!

We had somehow dismissed this restaurant due to its location on top of a car dealership. That was a mistake! We dined there for the first time during San Diego Restaurant Week and very much enjoyed our evening. The food, service and setting were all excellent and we will definitely be back.

My husband took me to celebrate my birthdate and I was not sure, if we should take the kids as my husband and I had already gone there before and did not think was kid friendly, but to my surprise Vintana has a three course menu at very affordable prices; I have four kids 12 years and under, and my six year old asked to comeback for his b-day. My family was treated like a VIP we had four different people delivered the food and the waitress was very detail oriented and check our table constantly; my 12yr old did not like his Mac & cheese, and they were willing to change it for a different item at no extra charge. The manager on duty also came to check on us and even gave us, two, $10 off cupons for our next visit. Food was delicious.

The service is unbeatable! I'm not a spicy eater, finding food on their menu, is a bit of challenge, for me. The restaurant menu was way too much for one person to eat. From my observation, most people were bringing a doggie bag home with them. I don't know why we went during restaurant week because sometimes I don't think the food is as good as the regular menu. We tried the corn and rock shrimp fritter, extremely heavy , corn was good but the rock shrimp not so, but the sauce was excellent. we won't go back during this week again. We had a table by the window looking over the fountain, and it really cut down the noise and we could talk!

My boyfriend and I decided to give this place a try for restaurant week and I guess you could say the experience did not fit our expectations. We made a reservation for 12:30, we got there at 12:25 and did not get seated until 12:50. What is the point of a reservation in that case? I requested a table by the window and there were plenty available but of course we were not seated at one. The beginning of our experience at the table went just fine until we ordered. We waited a fair amount of time for our food but we received out entree before our appetizer. The manager apologized but did not offer compensation. Towards the end our waitress had everyone else taking care of us. We won't be dining with vintana again.

Restaurant week was very busy, and the food was great. Bev was our server and did an excellent job going out of her way to have my cocktail made the way I like it. We had an assortment of dishes, lobster bisque, Brie, sea bass, Harissa chicken and lobster mac & cheese. All where very good, though the mac & cheese was a little rich for my personal taste, I image some prefer it that way. But I very much liked the Crispy Harissa Chicken I ordered, just the right amount of spice. This is not my first time at this restaurant, nor will it be my last. Good job

A friend and I went to Vintana during restaurant week. The special menu offerings were attractive and we were pleased with our lunches. Vintana is usually a very pleasant venue -- the tables are not too close together, there's a lot of light during the day, and one never feels rushed. It is on my top five restaurant list. However, on this day, it was very crowded at lunch time and the service was a little slower than I've experienced on other visits. I think our waitress just had too many tables.

So this was our first time here, after hearing many recommendations from friends. We came for lunch and took advantage of the SD Restaurant Week lunch menu. We each started with a somewhat generic green salad (tasted good, but it was missing something). For entrees, I opted for the fantastic Filet Tip Sandwich on house-made ciabatta. The meat was delicious, the meat was tender and easy to eat in sandwich form. The other entree ordered was an average Carolina BBQ Pork sandwich. As we have lived and traveled throughout the midwest and south and have had fantastic BBQ, this was just ok. Desserts were the super star. We ordered both the Key Lime Tartlet and the Cheesecake Tower, and both were amazing.

Every time I eat here, I assume that they will fix the problems with service.....not so. For these prices, I don't want to have to ask twice for things. Also, the last two times that I ordered the vegetarian entree, I have been overwhelmed by spice to the point that I cannot eat some of the food, and I am not a spicy food wimp!

Vintana is a nice restaurant but it will continue to limp along, sometimes the service is really good( this time it was), sometimes the food is really good( was ok at best), I know the staff is pushed with it being restaurant week, but the food coming out of the kitchen should be HOT, not lukewarm. Overall it was a decent experience, but if I would pay the full ticket price, all food would have been sent back for fresh and hot food

Vintana' s location may strike most people as odd, but it's irrevelant once you've experienced dining on the lunch or dinner fare. Chef Deborah's culinary expertise is beyond compare as I can attest to the delectable dishes served. Dante provided outstanding service as did the rest of the restaurant staff. This restaurant is truly a divine dining find in Escondido.

We brought our out-of-town friends here for lunch at the beginning of Restaurant Week, and we all came away very pleased. The service was exceptional, the atmosphere beautiful, and the food incredibly good. Two of us ordered the lobster mac & cheese, which was rich and generous with the lobster. Delicious! I checked off "scenic view", but only if you look beyond the businesses below the building (like Dick's Sporting Goods). Either way, this is a special restaurant with an inspired menu. Because their regular prices are so reasonable, there's no reason to go to Vintana only for special occasions.

Regarding the sceinic view, focus on the mountains and not the shopping center and freeway. Lol. Food is very good. Nicely presented and flavorful. Didn't care for the artichoke appetizer though. Was supposed to be crispy. Most were not, they were mushy. The few that were crispy were indeed good.

tried their lunch special - some lobster/shrimp roll but in a jalapenos bun also with house chip. the bun was slightly toasted and the filling falls all over. wish the filling has less coleslaw and less sauce which overpowers the shrimp/lobster totally, could not taste any of that except for the sauce and coleslaw. Very messy to eat. had their strawberry shortbread which was Okay wish there were creme brulee.

My husband and I had a wonderful meal here! We had the artichoke appetizer which was delicious, it is breaded and fried sort of like calamari. My husband had the fish of the day which was grouper and it was delicious. My scallops were good, but not top of the line in the preparation and hence the 4 stars versus 5. We are foodies, so we seek out these kinds of restaurants. Presentation was wonderful. We had the dessert, a homemade mud pie, it was wonderful and we had to take part of it back to the hotel.
