Vintage KitchenBreak from the tourist stuffWhen waterfront in Norfolk, Vintage Kitchen provides you a break from the tourist crowd and excellent food and service. We always make a point to eat there when staying in the area.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place for Good Husband pointsI took my wife for a special occasion, and we had an incredible dining experience. The food was spectacular, and the service was superlative. I will say that the menu is not really kid friendly, but our server and chef prepared a special dish for my 7 year old, and she had a wonderful time as well. I highly recommend the Vintage Kitchen! A+++5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMIMPRESSED!I COULD NOT BE MORE IMPRESSED! I ended up meeting a few friends there last week, a few of whom had never been - we were blown away! Gorgeous views of the river, amazing food, and a really sweet waitress made the night! The space is more modern and sophisticated than most of the better restaurants in the area which tend to be a bit more traditional - reminds me more of places in DC or New York. Having been before, I've noticed that some nights it's a bit more quiet and romantic and other nights it's really busy - I don't know which I prefer. This time there was definitely an energetic crowd (we were told the Chef was hosting a private charity dinner in one of the other dining rooms). Best restaurant in the Norfolk/VA Beach area hands down!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, and good experienceThe menu was kind of interesting and we decided to make it more of a tapas with the small plate side of the menu. Everything we had was good. I def recommend the spicy Caesar salad, and the bacon wrapped dates.
We would def go back!
Our waiter was very good, he did a great job at explaining everything and was very knowledgeable. This is def key to a good restaurant, in my opinion!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMPricey, but worth every pennyThe food was fantastic. Had the Halibut special and my wife had the flounder and they both were excellent. the salads were excellent as well. Place was kind of empty because we were eating early before a show. Food was very pricey, but we didnt mind paying for it because everything was perfect.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThe service is excellent. The service is excellent. The food is indescribably exquisite! Best in Norfolk!4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMMost ImprovedWe had not been thrilled the last time we visited Vintage Kitchen, but this time everything was excellent. In the past, our servers seemed pompous, but not this time. Our server was very sweet and knew answers to all of our questions. The Black & White Mac n Cheese might be the best Mac we have ever had. The Roasted Red Pepper & Smoked Gouda soup was superb and the Grilled Portabello on Focaccia was delicious. We also enjoyed the Bittersweet Chocolate & Sea Salt Caramel dessert, a must have. This is a great lunch spot - ask for a window seat.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was the perfect placeThis was the perfect place for a 30-year reunion with great friends. It's a beautiful small restaurant with a view of the river...lovely inside and lovely outside. It has this very welcoming classic interior that makes you just want to linger...and we did! The service was perfect...attentive and intuitive...but not intrusive or hovering.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe pumpkin soup and the macaroniThe pumpkin soup and the macaroni and cheese were out of this world delicious. Best I've ever had!3/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
