  • "A group of ladies having lunch for Aggie Ring Day celebration. The staff was fantastic, very attentive and informational. The food was very good and the table side desserts are fun, we had Cherries Jubilee. The restaurant ambience is very nice, stained glass windows, the wine barrels, very nice feel. The vinyard is blooming and the grounds are wonderful for photo opportunities."

  • "We took my father in law to The Vintage House for his 85th birthday and it was the highlight of his birthday ! Everything from the service to the food was excellent. Definitely will be going back!"

  • "The Brie was excellent as an appetizer and the cranberry salad was delicious as well. The wine list only includes Messina Hof wines, but there was plenty to chose from. We ordered the Zinfandel and it was good. Creme brûlée was yummy. Only disappointment was the mashed potatoes. They were not to my liking- tasted a little off. Service was great!"

  • "We had heard a few things about vintage house but it never made it there. We made reservations and the cable was ready for us right on time. The ribeye steaks were excellent and so was the wine. Server was very friendly and helpful."

  • "This was a mother daughters lunch outing. We could not have had a better time! Angel, our server was spectacular. He did not miss a beat. Very attentive and thoughtful. He knew exactly how to handle these 3 ladies. The food was superb. The wine excellent (tho you would expect that from a winery based restaurant). We could not have enjoyed a more pleasurable day."

  • "Every meal that we have eaten at Vintage House has been a quality dining experience. The menu features something for even the pickiest of eaters, and the food is always fresh and perfectly prepared. We eagerly await our next opportunity to visit."

  • "Away from run of the mill eateries, special location, quiet place away from university, small-town attitudes. Much more .... Loved location!"

  • "I went to Messina Hof last Saturday. We loved the place, the food and the service. They have one of the best wine selection, best steak selection and great view to the winery. You will spend some money but it is totally worth it. It is a place where you want to take all your guests to, have a special occasion or even close a deal."

  • "Celebrating our two year anniversary, we came to enjoy a nice supper. The food was excellent, and the service was more than we could expect. Dane helped us with main course recommendations, wine pairings and dessert, and his recommendations were great each time! Thank you for a great evening with fantastic service!"

  • "The amount of vegetables I received was small. I was hoping for some more greens on my plate than two carrots and about ten green bean strips. The size of pork chop was just right."

  • "Food was good but I don't like paying 50 bucks for a bottle of Merlot at a winery. Bought the same thing at HEB for $8.00. I understand you are going to get gouged at a restaurant but 5x is too much. Tried to order the dinner for two which is a pretty good deal but was told it wasn't available since it was Valentine's Day even though it was the day after. Paid $40 more for the same meal. What if Valentine's Day fell on a Tuesday and it was Wednesday? Would that be Valentine's week? Good atmosphere for a special occasion but bring a wad of cash."

  • "We have always enjoyed visiting Messina Hof and marvel at the attention to detail that all the staff exhibits. The food was excellent and the wine delicious. We arrived very early for our reservation which gave us the time to enjoy the wine bar. We opted to sit out at the pavilion overlooking the lake and try some of the specialty cheeses before dinner. The atmosphere of the entire place led to a wonderfully relaxing evening."

  • "The best food I ever ate in a metal building and it goes without saying the wine was outstanding. This is the place to go in bryan college station if you want to get away from the college crowd, enjoy a superb meal or just have a great glass of wine. And better yet you can have the "wine country" experience without traveling hundreds or thousands of miles."

  • "We visited the vintage house for Valentines Day. Everything was wonderful, food was great, presentation was nice, service was acceptable. The problem I had was the cost for what we received, For two people our meal was just under $200, I understand it's valentines day but the food and service wasn't worth more than 75-100 dollars. My half of our table was so dark that I couldn't see my food, and after mentioning it to the staff I didn't receive an apology or a solution."

  • "We went here for our anniversary dinner which happens to be on vday. It was never shown anywhere that there would be a set menu and no price listed. The wine was good and the service excellent. The food however was just OK. When we got the bill it was over $200. Just disappointed in the cost vs. the food. I will next time call ahead and make SURE I have options on the menu. We will be going to Christophers from now on."

  • "For the price we had to pay my plate had to be returned because the steak couldn't be eaten. The meat was tough and full of grisal. The chef decided to serve a pat of liver on top of the steak. Are you kidding me liver on an expensive meal. Quality of the food was poor as well as the selection. Was disappointed that the owners decided to charge a 20% gratuity. The service was good but not worth a 20% tip. The price of that meal should of included a bottle of wine instead of the pitiful small samples they gave you. The potatoes on my first plate were cold and carrots were hard. I was not impressed and won't be spending those kind of dollars at the vintage house next valentines day."

  • "When I made reservations, I was not informed that it was a set menu for dinner. We found out when we sat down, disappointed yes, but it was supposed to be a special evening with my wife, so I didn't want to disappoint her and show my emotions. ALL of the food was pre cooked and lacked seasoning on every end. The desert tasted like something that came out of a child's easy bake oven. When the bill came, my jaw almost dropped to the floor. I have zero problem with paying $70 a person for good food, but this was highway robbery for what was served. I would like to go back on a regular night and order off of the regular menu before we completely write off the restaurant, but it will be a little while before we go back."

  • "A friend and I decided that we needed some great food and great wine. She had visited the Messina Hof winery in Fredricksburg and wanted to visit the one in College Station. We had the most amazing meal, great service, and lovely evening overall. A quick visit next door to the retail area and she had a new VIP membership and a case of her favorite wine. Highly recommend this place for a quiet evening with friends or a romantic dinner for two."

  • "Several past co-workers & friends met for lunch & a visit. The food was excellent. The wine was great. The staff is very friendly & courteous. Some of our party was quite late & the staff was very accommodating. The owner stopped by the table to introduce himself & enquire if all was well."

  • "We love coming here when we are in town. The petite filet is excellent, as is the table side flambé! For a special evening, I highly recommend. Plus, they serve many of Messina Hof's great wines! Win-win for us!"

  • "My husband and I dined at the Vintage House for a romantic "date night" and thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the night. Food, service, ambience was excellent. My only suggestion would be to possibly have a view to the outside. We sat next to the windows and it would be nice to see the beauty of the outdoors. Maybe a lighted patio or fountain. Minor detail. Everything else was fabulous. Thank you"

  • "Whenever we dine at the Vintage House Restaurant, it feels like a special occasion. We love the old world ambience and rustic elegance of the restaurant. The service is very good and the food and wines are excellent. The menu offers many great choices and we love the way the wine choice is recommended with the meal. We look forward to our next visit at the Vintage House Restaurant."

  • "The occasion was to celebrate Christmas with two couples whom we are friends with but do not get a chance to meet with in a small setting. The food was excellent, the wine superb, and the service extremely good and non intrusive allowing us to enjoy our meal and talk without constant interruptions from the wait staff. The waiter, Tyler, was personable without being effusive and the only problem I had was that I keep eating the same menu item because it is so delicious, the stuffed gorgonzola chicken. I even persuaded my husband and one of the others at the table to join us in that. I would have preferred a little more chocolate in the port fudge sundae but the addition of port was wonderful. Thank you for a wonderful evening."

  • "My wife and I celebrated our 9th anniversary at Messina Hof. Our waitress was great - very attentive, but not overbearing. She had a great wit, great personality. The food was delicious - I had the venison special. My wife had the duck. The portions were generous. Food tasted great. I would highly recommend Messina Hof for any occasion."

  • "Great Food selection for all... Nice price on exceptional wine... Romantic atmosphere cozy for two and still has room for the large group all at the same location. Evilio Pinzon was truly exceptional at providing us with a fine dining experience. This is definitely a first choice for special occasions in the BCS area."

  • "Dinner was wonderful, as usual. Not our first visit to Vintage House! It's a great place to first visit the winery, then dine in their great restaurant and drink MORE of their wonderful Messina Hof wines."

  • "The food at Vintage House is great, but what really brings us back is the service and surroundings. The furnishings are beautiful, and the staff makes you feel very welcome. Everyone puts forth that little extra effort to make the evening special."

  • "This was our first visit to Vintage House. Our family was celebrating a birthday. The grounds are lovely, and the restaurant has lots of interesting furnishings/art work. A very pretty setting -- and the food was delicious. Our server was very helpful, and we appreciate the attention she gave to making our flaming desserts. So often, restaurants rush this process, and she did not. We know we will be back soon."

  • "We were staying at the Villa at Messsina Hof, so we had dinner next door at the Vintage House. Nothing notable regarding Fried Green Tomato Napoleon or Messina Hof Vintage House Salad. For entrees at our table, we had 2 Grilled Petit Filet of Beef, a Bone In 14 Ounce Ribeye, and a Pan Seared Maple Leaf Duck Breast. The beef was "OK" but not steakhouse quality, didn't appear to be prime beef. The duck was the best entree at our table, by far. Unfortunately the reduction sauce on the entrees appeared to be the same. The waitress was very freindly and attentive until it came time for her to flambe for other guest, then she was MIA for quite some time. We didn't get offered desert before the check was brought to the table. The wine, well..."
