  • "Enjoyed our visit. Had the bruschetta and taco appetizers. They were great ! The vegetable plate and the shrimp and scallop entrees were good too. Service was very good, as always. Overall, a nice evening. I love going in on Sundays and checking out the wine specials!"

  • "Excellent service, gorgeous ambiance--loved how you could order half portions of items!"

  • "We have visited Vinology often. The service is consistently good and very friendly. That is one reason we return, reliable service. The food has been a bit of a different story. They gave gone through stretches of very good food that was innovative, different, even fun. In the last several months we have found the food to be on the downswing. It has been ordinary, almost like they left the recipes for the sous chef without a palate or skill to pull it off. We tried 5 or 6 small plates and the flavors and dishes were heavy, lacked subtlety, and skill with spices. We will return for staff, but look forward to change in food. Great wine list as always."

  • "This is the kind of restaurant we dream about when traveling. Interesting food, well prepared and beautifully presented. The wine list is by type (Big, Crisp, Smooth, Earthy, etc.) instead of by Region or Grape and moderately priced. You can try flights of wines or design your own flights. All-in-all, an outstanding dining experience."

  • "Overall the experience was very good. There with our family with a range of flavor and food preferences. Cheese board and salad was great. Main dishes we had were good but not what they could be overall Basically almost too much flavor and too may mixes of spicing and flavor. Pricing very high if you are eating dinner. Wine flights are a great option and we all enjoyed the ones we selected, made it into a mini wine tasting among us. Server was just distracted, not very timely, was not in sync with what we wanted or needed any any of the times throughout the meal. Have been here before, would come back, recommend this more for happy hour appetizers and drinks then for main course focused dinner."

  • "If you like wine go, but as far as food there are 5 options and only your meat is warm."

  • "Great wine selections, I had the fruit bomb wine flight, I came with 2 friends and we all enjoyed our meals, the chef makes things a little different than the average restaurant which is refreshing, also the ambience was awesome, I will definitely come back! Our whole party we pleased."

  • "Besides the obvious great wine list, Vinology also has a very good selection of beers. Another plus is that for most entres, Full or Half portions can be ordered."

  • "My husband and I came here for our anniversary and had a wonderful experience. Service was great and made fabulous menu recommendations. The food was both beautiful and delicious. We were very happy."

  • "The food was amazing, and we really appreciated that we could easily have an intimate conversation without being overheard or interrupted by our waiter. On the other hand, I would have appreciated a more knowledgeable staff about the wine and food offerings, including provenance, pairings. It's never a good sign when the waiter sells the menu by referencing his personal preferences. I'm glad we tried it, but we probably won't go back soon."

  • "Enjoyed waitstaff recommendations on both wine and entrees. Attentive service, wonderful presentation, and absolutely delicious. Menu allows for 12/ and full plate options. Desserts were creative and tasty."

  • "Service left a bit to be desired, but they tried hard. I suggest a broader menu selection, it was pretty limited, but everything we ordered was good."

  • "We wanted to take out of town friends to a restaurant that they would enjoy during Art Fair but not something they had visited before. We had a lovely night at Vinology. The scene outside the restaurant was chaotic but the food and service at Vinology was top notch. We shared an order of fried calamari and and mu shu pork. Both were nicely presented and tasty. The waiter warned us that the half-size entrees were not as large as they had been previously. I ordered the jerk tuna and could barely finish my half order. Other entrees at our table were the pad thai and the flank steak. Everything got a thumbs up. Chocolate lava cake and rhubarb eclair finished the meal. We left full and satisfied - exactly what I expect at Vinology."

  • "We are regular visitors to Vinology for both lunch and dinner. We had a nice, slow lazy dinner of appetizers, small plates and salads, which we were very good - topped off with two fabulous desserts."

  • "What a special, welcoming place to dine. Our waiter, Scott, was outstanding in every way. He was enthusiastic about the specials, supportive of our selections and always there to meet our needs. The manager came by our table several times to welcome us and make certain everything was fine. The food was excellent and kudos should be extended to the chef. Thanks for making us feel so welcome!"

  • "I had been at Vinology on 6/18/14 and loved the menu so much that I went again with friends on 7/12. The waitress told us that the former chef had returned, the menu now suited his best dishes, and there were fewer choices so that he could concentrate on those dishes. All of us had trouble finding an entree that appealed to us. Although the food was very good, I'm not sure I'll go back for dinner again if this is the permanent menu."

  • "Excellent food, wine and service, need I say more? My husband and I had a great experience here during restaurant week so we decided to go for our anniversary. Great decision. Our server was Scott. He was attentive, friendly and made thoughtful recommendations during the meal. We even received a complimentary dessert which was a lovely surprise. This has become our new favorite restaurant and we will definitely go again."

  • "The sweet potato flat bread and calamari were good with interesting flavors. We have the shrimp/scallop was good, but the scallops were undercooked. Another turn on the flat top and they were fine. The service was quite attentive and professional"

  • "Excellent food. Excellent service. Excellent management. One flaw is that they ran out of two items we ordered...a specific beer and a type of fish. They substituted another fish that I do not eat. I was only able to choose between two dishes for my entree because I don't eat certain shellfish or meats at all, and I wouldn't have chosen what I did if I weren't forced to. My food was very good though. They should just be a little more prepared for those scenarios."

  • "Restaurant week is busy and may not be the best indicator of a restaurant's normal performance, however the service we received at Vinology during restaurant week was unacceptable. They seemed only to be interested in turning over tables rather than making sure guests had a positive experience. A multicourse meal - even at lower restaurant week prices - should be leisurely! Instead our appetizers came out minutes after we ordered them, so clearly had been sitting prepared for some time. And with our appetizers and desserts our server took our plates before we had finished eating without asking whether we were done. We were rushed out in 45 minutes. Hopefully this is not how they normally do business but we likely won't return to find out."

  • "Wonderful dinner but way too loud. We could hardly have a conversation without shouting at one another."

  • "Vinology is definitely one of my favs in the Ann Arbor area. I usually stay away during restaurant week as I prefer the full experience but we needed to go out and the menu enticed me. I was not disappointed. Both food and service were excellent. My hostess did plan to seat our party in the lower level but conceded that there were very few customers on the main level. Perhaps they were expecting more people but the main level stayed empty until we left. Overall they exceeded my expectations. This is truly an Ann Arbor gem."

  • "Wonderful dining experience during restaurant week.....we will definitely be back to dine soon!"

  • "This was our first experience and we sure weren't disappointed. The wait staff was spot on with their service. They knew their stuff and couldn't have been more knowledgable or efficient. Their cheese plate was over the top delicious as well as their green salad, lettuce cups and eggplant dish. We came back after a concert for dessert and a nightcap and they were due to close in 15 minutes. But they treated us like they had all the time in the world. Next time we are in AA it will definitely be for a return visit to this fine eating establishment."

  • "My boyfriend and I always come here for restaurant week and special occasions. We love the wine list and the menu is always different. We have never had a bad meal and the service is great! Definitely one of our favorites"

  • "Delicious food. One person I our party did not order from the restaurant week menu and they were still able to get the food out together and timely. Our server was excellent!"

  • "The food here was very good! Went for restaurant week. They were trying out a new menu so some things were clearly a work in progress and the chef/staff knew that. My first course was the Cucumber Gazpacho, which was really good. The gazpacho itself was a bit acidic, but I liked it anyways. I really loved the combination of the grape salsa, the quesadilla, and the goat cheese. Heavenly. Wish I'd had more! The braised pork shoulder with the pineapple was delicious, but as my friend mentioned, it could've used a starch or veggie side since there's only meat on the place. The standout was the service which was awesome. They really wanted out honest feedback about the food. Overall, great experience!"

  • "Dined during restaurant week. We chose items from the special menu for that week. All 3 courses were extraordinarily good and the server was exceptional in spite of being quite busy. We will return based on this experience."
    Dined on 6/23/2014
  • "Good selection of menu items. Portions very large; share a regular entre. Works a bit too hard at presentation, which can end up being overdone. Heavy-handed drizzled sauce and olive oil on some items rather than a delicate touch. Good wine list, maybe a little pricey. Attentive and friendly service."

  • "Very good food, creative lunch menu, and a great value. The ambience is superb for a quiet, private lunch. Waitstaff is attentive and offered spot on recommendations. One of my very favorite places for lunch in Ann Arbor."

  • "Vinology is a foodie place with a neighborhood feel. The menu is delicious and creative with excellent use of fresh ingredients. The wine list is outstanding. Desserts are beautiful and original. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. For my son's 21st birthday we had them design a five course meal with a wine flight for his first legal drinks. Outstanding!"

  • "We were a party of eight and I can say everyone enjoy their appetizers, drink, desserts and entree's except one. She ordered the haddock and was terribly disappointed. To tell the truth it looked like white fish in a bowl of green soup. She also mentioned the taste was nothing worth the full portion she ordered. Everyone else did rave about their meals. I they will be back."
    Dined on 6/14/2014
  • "Forgot our order. Blamed it on a big party downstairs. However her manager made up for it by not charging us for the waitress'a mistake."
    Dined on 6/13/2014
  • "Great menu, very professional service, good food. I like having the choice of large or small entree. The small is a good portion and you can then have an appetizer and/or dessert."

  • "Vinology is a standout in Ann Arbor. The chef is fabulous at creating wonderful taste blends in everything from appetizers to deserts. Hate to say too much good because I still want to get a table."

  • "Our waiter (I want to say Kevin?) was very friendly and attentive. The food was amazing! Especially the duck!"

  • "The staff did not have the wherewithal to deal with their numbers on a Saturday night. We were waiting for friends to join us and sat at least 15 before we were approached for a drink order- in the bar area. The waiter was very nice and said that our waiter was overwhelmed so he would help us out. I ordered prosecco which was good . We ordered beets which were good. We decided it wasn't worth it to stay for dinner. Got the bill and I was charged for the most expensive bubbly not the prosecco I had ordered. I politely pointed this out to the waiter who said he would take care of it but implied I was at fault."

  • "Vinology is a great place for both intimate dinners and group gatherings. Everything was on-point: the food, the wine, the service, and the atmosphere. Our server, Scott, was accommodating and gracious. Vinology is definitely a place we will visit again. "
