We were so impressed. We ordered 4 small plates for the 2 of us. Each plate was beautiful, and contained at least 3-4 separate things on it. For example the baked fontina cheese plate had baked gooey cheese in a dough purse next to homemade fig jam, fresh blackberries, bread for dipping, hot cashews. Really inventive food. the wine flights were fun to order and our waitress was very attentive. We will definitely be back.

The feel, look, and taste of Vinology was fantastic. They have a great collection of dishes that are both recognizable, yet unique and different. Our appetizers were delicious, and we all were extremely satisfied with our entree's. (so much so that my girlfriend ate 90% of her full order of the duck, and I ate the rest of my Margarita Pizza a couple of hours later that night) The only thing that brought our experience down was our server, who right from the beginning gave the feeling that he was just trying to "get through" serving us. If we had had a different server, I easily would have given this experience 5 stars.

Beet, goat cheese, toasted hazelnut appetizer was generous and delish. Steak with herb spaetzle and red cabbage was outstanding. Duck breast stuffed with sausage along with winter squash and crispy kale was fabulous. Get a booth for max comfort. Our waiter customized a wine flight for my meal!

On Football Sat. in AA, all rest. are packed and that makes for some slowing of service. Maybe should consider hiring some more staff when large crowds are expected. There was mixup in our bill that I didn't notice till I got back to the Hotel. Called and was told it would be corrected. No hassle about it and they were very nice about it. Will see, if the adjustment shows up on my credit statement? Parking is a problem. Food and presentation was excellent. Great menu choices and the option of getting half portions makes it attractive when you have 3-4 co-eds in tow. Manager was friendly and attentive and looked after us while we were dinning. Had a good time there.

This restaurant reserves tables online; however, when we arrived we were told that our table was over in the bar area at a table shoved up against the wall. Not at any of the bistro tables on the restaurant side nor the high tops in the restaurant side. The front desk gals would not budge telling us all the tables were reserved. Hmmmm, thought we did the same. After 10 minutes of sitting at the bar with drinks, the manager came over to inquire about our dissatisfaction. Suddenly we were at a high top in the bar area with the most amazing server. A+ service did not entirely make up for the lackadaisical greeting upon welcome. We most likely will not return - too many other wonderful Ann Arbor Restaurants to try.

I have been too Vinology too many times to count and can always rely on them for a great meal. We were entertaining out-of-town guests and were very pleased with the food and service as usual. I will admit that over time the adventurousness of the menu has declined, particularly the salads and desserts. The latter especially has never recovered from the loss of milkshakes made tableside or the "coconuts" which were big hits. But this restaurant remains one of Ann Arbor's best and I highly recommend it.

Brought an out-of-town friend here to celebrate her birthday. Had an amazing chef's cheese plate-one of the best I've had in Ann Arbor and a lovely paired flight of wines. The ambiance and noise-level were ideal, we had a great view of Main Street, and the wait staff was available but not over-bearing.

When we arrived, despite having made a reservation, we were told that the only table available was one right next to the door. There were other tables and booths empty but we were informed that if you want a booth you have to ask for one in your reservation. I complained and the hostess was able to find us a table in a better/less cold spot. We were given a cocktail list but we were informed that none of those cocktails were available because they are revamping the list. The new list wasn't ready however so you had to invent your own drink. The waitress did not tell us the specials until we asked. She hadn't taken any notes on the second special, informing us that it was roasted quail and that was all she knew. The food was terrific.

I love Vinology and eat thee often. However, the Ramen noodles - a new special - was terribly over salted. I couldn't finish and took a leftover box but ended up throwing it away. The tomato soup was excellent and my dining companion enjoyed her burger. That's really the only disappointment I've ever had there.

Went with my girlfriend on a special occasion. We got very good service, and enjoyed the atmosphere of the place. The duck was very good, the salmon was ok but not excellent. We especially liked the dessert, I don't remember the name but it was something like an apple tart with ice cream. As the name suggests, they have an excellent range of wines. It's a bit pricey for the quality of food (which is very good, just not outstanding), but we were overall happy with our experience.

The menu was surprisingly small but the food was excellent. I had a Hawaiian fish special with purple risotto. Extremely tasty and fish cooked perfectly. We ordered the sliders for appetizers. Nice-looking restaurant. Small, charming wine room. Serving staff was attentive; they stressed that all entres can be served in halves. All 4 of us decided to couple half plates, but were told after ordering you can't halve specials; should have been clear up front. One in our party ordered a special that was great, but we learned only when the bill came that the plate was $60, over double most if not all other entres. Inexcusable not to warn of such a drastic up charge. Flank steak was served cold, as though they grilled a frozen steak until the outside was cooked. The staff was fine in bringing back a better-cooked steak. Some of the plates were delicious, but the experience was marred by the negatives. Great wine list

Reserved 3 months in advance for Parent's Weekend, we looked forward to a special meal for our son's 18th birthday. We were not NOT disappointed! Our waiter, Mark, was most knowledgeable and began by recommending our wine. For apps, highly recommend the short rib tacos and the scallop and shrimp samosas. We inhaled those. My husband and I ordered the spatchcock game hen, which was mouth watering with lobster macaroni and shaved asparagus with a black garlic balsalmic glace--yum yum! My son had the chargrilled flank steak with truffled potato salad & veggies. He ate it all! Warm Chocolate lava cake to die for! followed by Macaroons & Peach Thyme Clafouti. Bon Appetit!

Despite the fact that we had a reservation, the hostess balked at our request for a booth. We were eventually seated at a booth and other booths remained open through our stay (despite the fact that we were told all booths were reserved.). The special steak was tasteless and grainy. The macaroni and cheese side dish was overly rich with dried up pieces of lobster. It is obvious that Vinology thinks of itself as a chic, gourmet restaurant for hip foodies, but they have a lot to learn. The one asset is a nice wine list. Also our waiter was pleasant and accommodating
