Eclectic menu, with large portion sizes. Flexible list re wines by the glass, relaxed atmosphere (no loud music!). Fine dining at its best without feeling the need to put on a dress suit, Employees and management are very friendly without being intrusive. Wish we lived closer so we could stop by at least twice a week!!!

The spaghetti with the lamb meatball has now beat out the lasagna for my favorite dish. Although after dining there regularly for over a year, I have still yet to find a dish that I didn't love!! My husband loved the chicken with hummus and he raved over the lemony topping. With we could buy a whole jar of it!

Small and intimate. Ask for seating in "back" room. (very quiet!). Staff was very friendly w/o overdoing it. The food was truly 'OUT OF THIS WORLD". From NY/NJ area and it is as good or better than any NYC restaurant. Fabulous/fabulous/fabulous. Never expected anything like it in such a small town. Priced attractively too. $5-$20. Serves wine and beer ONLY OR you can BYO wine and they only charge a corking fee. Was down in area for dog coursing the next day. We were so impressed with this "gem" we asked for some business cards to hand out to all the locals we'd meet. And we did! ENJOY the BEST dinner you may EVER have. Tell Christian or Carla the 2 couples from Connecticut and NJ told you about it.. HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommended!!!!

We were tired of doing the same restaurants Saturday night so we did an Open Table search. We found Vino 124, the reviews were good so we said why not. Our reservation was for 8:30 the drive took us thirty minutes. We found a parking space right out front. As I was parking my wife said, " this does not look good". When I look inside I saw what she saw, not a sole in the place. Staying the course we went inside and got seated. It was kind of strange being the only people in the place and the menu was a little limited but this would be the only concerns we had for the rest of the night. The service was warm and friendly, the food and wine were very good and the bill was very reasonable. We definitely will go back.

While traveling on business in the area, I selected this restaurant despite mixed reviews on Yelp! I found it to be a wonderful surprise! Since I was by myself, they still gave me the second meal for free (crab cakes, which I ate some as appetizer and took rest home). My main meal was quail which I rarely get a chance to eat and WOW it was cooked to perfection. It was moist, had an incredible rub (coffee based) and was succulent! Also, I had a glass of Chilean wine which the owner picked and it too was wonderful. I ate early, so no crowd and the hostess and owner were very attentive to my needs and extremely friendly! Highly recommend this small place if in the area!

I am a regular diner at Vino 124, and once again my friends and I enjoyed a memorable dinner. My friend had the crab cakes which she loved and I had the meatloaf which is one of my favorites (second only to the lasagna which was not being served that night). We indulged in the cheese plate appetizer with warm homemade flat bread and oil. There was a very large party seated in the main dining room and we heard the laughter and the clink of wine glasses and could tell that everyone was having a great time. We will return again in a couple of weeks and have no doubt that we will be just as happy.

Once again, Vino 124 has served up a great meal. My husband and I always love to start out with the current cheese plate or charcuterie plate served with with their wonderful warm bread and oil. This time, I chose the meatloaf entree and my husband had the fresh una pasta. We were both thoroughly satisfied (and stuffed) ! I have NEVER had a meal at Vino that has not been great and I have dined there at least 15 times in the past year. They continue to provide fresh, creative and satisfying dishes time after time.

We were delighted to find this small restaurant on Main Street after passing so many fast food spots getting there. Even though the menu choices were limited we still had a hard time deciding which dish to try. Crab cakes were delicious, very different from any other and I would order them again. Desserts definitely worth the calories.

Vino124 is a wonderful farm-to-table restuarant whose chef makes very creative and wonderfully flavorful dishes from local meats and produce. Our group of four each tried a different one of the four entrees offered the night we dined at Vino124, and we each enjoyed what we ordered. I ordered the Crispy Chicken and Hash. The chicken was very tasty, but it was outdone by the vegetable hash, which was so good that I could have made an entire meal out of just it. Everything we ordered had wonderful pairings of different flavors. We shared a dessert that combined lemon sorbet, apricots, watermelon, mint and a cane sugar syrup and was exceptional. I highly recommend Vino124 and look forward to going back

The Food was excellent. Flavors were exceptional. We had 4 courses which were fresh and flavorful. You have the option to skip courses since they are individually priced. Which is very convient for the not so hungry, calorie conscious or budget weary individual. my only negative comment is that I didnt find the staff overly helpful when selecting a wine. Otherwise we had a great time and wonderful food. Definitely check this place out if you get a chance...Highly suggest reservations just to make sure you get a seat! Cheers!

Their web site says, "Creative Comfort Cuisine". Has 2 kinds of pizza and the highest entre price is $18. When we were there, they didn't have pizza. There was no bread for the table. They couldn't provide any plain pasta. There were 4 entres to pick from and at least 2 were $26-$28. Miso soup was a tiny bowl that was very different from usual, no tofu in it, $5. Crab cake entre was just "ok". Loupe de mer (fish) seemed to be frozen/thawed rather than fresh and was not great. Selections very limited, basics were missing and it was overall high priced. We won't return.

We happened upon this restaurant three years ago on vacation. We made a point to make reservations when we were back in the area for vacation again. Everything was wonderful from start to finish. We started with the pizza appetizer. It was flatbread with olive oil and herbs sprinkled on it. Fantastic! For dinner, I had the crab cakes and my husband ordered the meatloaf. Both were delicious. For dessert, my husband got the molten chocolate cake. The entire dinner was amazing! We can wait to come back! On a side note, when we were choosing a wine for dinner, we ordered a Reisling. The owner, Christian, came to us and asked if we were expecting a sweet Reisling, which we responded yes. He told use not to order the one we did and brought us a different Reisling. Explaining the difference between, and letting us taste the first, we are glad he had us change. What service!!!!

Great homemade dishes. Clever ingredients. My date loved the meatloaf and I truly enjoyed the great flavors of sausage and chick pea stew. The restaurant was small but cozy especially when you wanted a little privacy with a date. I also enjoyed the local wine oat and the waiters knowledge of them. We found this restaurant during a rare visit to the Sheandoah without the kids, though they too would have been welcome earlier in the evening. On the first night we had their salmon appetizer with mascarpone and citrus--delicious--and my boyfriend had the lasagne, some of the best we have tasted of both. We both noticed that the greens and tomatoes in the salad which came with the meal were especially fresh and the dressing was one f the best I have ever had. The recommended wines with the entrees were delicious, from a small but very diverse wine list, and the little wine bar area in the back proved delightfully entertaining and relaxing after dinner. An utter delight!

For a small town, this is a fine restaurant for a nice evening out. But so many small, overlooked details stack up to diminish the experience. The wine we ordered was mis-labeled on the wine list. The flatbread was underbaked and unnecessarily buried beneath a forest of dried herbs. The lentil hummus looked, frankly, like cat food drizzled with sriracha. The salad was swimming in a pool of honey mustard dressing when a splash would have been sufficient. The roasted eggplant screamed for a starch, but didn't even come with bread. One of the plates wasn't wiped down before being brought to the table, making for a sloppy presentation. And the tables don't even have salt and pepper on them. The little things make a big difference.
