Vinny Vanucchi's 'Little Italy' - GalenaDate NightI was taking my Girlfriend out for a date and I could not have picked a better place to go eat with her. The food was awesome and the tables had a Romantic setting in a way. I will defiantly be going back with my girlfriend at the next chance I get! A great way to describe Vinny Vanucchis in Galena is a Olive Garden on steroids! Then another family came in and was escorted to the 2nd floor. When it became evident where they were being taken they asked for a table on that first floor. The last ones in their large party were a couple perhaps in their 80s. I understand why they would ask not to taken up more stairs. They were seated on the first floor by moving tables....I assume embarrassing them because there was another table set up for another large party. We were seated on time, had good service, and the food was delectable. Wine was a bit pricey. The special wasn't very affordable ... most was assume the special would include a slight break on price. We were seated in the little downstairs area that was so like an Italian cafe. Vinny's special sauce was spicy and delicious and the garlic bread ....to die for! Our children and their spouses were with us. What a treat then to go to Vinny's for dinner. We have never been there, but was recommended to do so. We had a wonderful experience! It was funny to us because our waitress always emphasized the long "I" when talking about Italian menu items. Our meals were perfectly done and beautifully plated. The salad and garlic bread (refills available) were a terrific start. While their desserts are not made there, they are locally made and excellent, especially the cheesecake and cannoli. Personally, I'd come back again if in the area. Other's compare this place to Chicago land restaurants, but you shouldn't.
