Vinifera Wine Bar & BistroDoes not let you downFor a hotel dining room, this restaurant is quiet on the weekends and the food is excellent. We particularly like the small plates selection. I had the sea bass and my husband had the duck as our main courses - both were perfectly cooked and delightfully presented.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful MealWent there with a group of friends and every one of us had an amazing meal. I would definitely recommend.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMIt would have been nicer ifIt would have been nicer if there weren't screaming children to ruin the ambience, but what do you expect in a hotel restaurant. The food was very artistic and tastee. The service was great.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat foodNice place, tucked into a business complex, in the Westin Hotel. Pretty, great food. Bartender needed another person. Sat at the bar and waited 15 minutes for a drink. Otherwise, great experience.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious.I had the seared Mahi Tuna with Ice Tea it was very succulent, perfect amount of seasoning for flavor, the portion size was appropriate. The staff were very polite and proffesional but a little slow when it was not busy. They could have been more attentive.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMSurprising find in RestonDon't go for the wine, most wines sold you can find at the grocery grocery store, and they were sold at a ridiculous markup. However, with that said, go for the food. Seriously, make sure you are hungry and try as much as you can. The two of us started out with three sharing plates: the risotto balls, the Spanish potato onion tortilla, and the salmon. The risotto was OK, but needed more seasoning, the tortilla was very good and flavorful, and the salmon was amazing. The secondary courses were absolutely amazing. Chef Bo picks complimentary flavors and is truly passionate about cooking. The overall service was very slow and left something to be desired, but the food made up for it. Highly recommend5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMPleasant findI had seen this place for many years but had never gone it. What a pleasant surprise! The food, wine, and, service were all good which is, after all, what you want. Only caution is to ask not to be seated by the kitchen door as it slams the wall next to that table.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMso many choices, so little timeWe want to try everything every time and just aren't able. We love the little tastes - one delicious mouthful of amazing flavor. The small plates and salads are fresh and creatively presented. The entree was substantial (got to take some home to enjoy later). The small desserts are a perfect size! Can't wait to return.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyed ourselvesWe had Mother's Day Brunch -- 4 couples. Food was outstanding ... great selection!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Mother's Day BuffetThey went all out for Mother's Day. The menu and the food was superb. They also had buffets available with fruit, desserts, cheese, shrimp, and a variety of other side dishes.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMExtraordinary Mother's Day!Celebrating Mother's Day at Vinifera was absolutely the highlight of my day and much appreciation to the staff, which provided a very memorable day.
Much appreciation to the manager, Bryant Phillips and our servers, Rob/Melissa as they each provided the excellence in service and satisfaction!!
Last but not least, kudos to chefs, as the menu choices were varied perfectly!! We were a party of five and each of us were completely content from the appetizer bar to the main course and desserts.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat menu selectionsChoice between small plates, small bites, or entree portions. Great concept. Very extensive wine list and lots of fun here with a small group that wants to try lots of dishes. Have eaten here six or seven times and have never been disappointed.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely anniversary celebrationThis was our first time at Vinifera, but not our last. We were very impressed with the food and service.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMNot a fan of hotel restaurantsNot a fan of hotel restaurants but they've gotten better the last 5 -10 yrs. Vinifera, (Westin in Reston) has IT! Decor - comfortable and elegant. Staff - knowledgeable, friendly, without pretension. Wines - reasonably priced, varied. Food - tasty, well-prepared, nicely presented. The small bites were delightful, try the cheese-stuffed dates wrapped in bresola! The venison was delicious. The only glitch, fried calamari, was over-breaded/over-spiced. I told our server and she said they were moving to a grilled version soon - they recognized the issue. Our duck and sea bass entrees were great! My duck was cooked perfectly, accompanied by a nice wine reduction over faro and asian vegetables. Full, we end on sorbet and port! Love it!5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and service was excellent. We went for a birthday dinner. The four of us tried different entrees and everyone enjoyed their choices. We will definitely return to this neighborhood gem!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMI stay at this hotel nearlyI stay at this hotel nearly every week, I actually choose it for two reasons, Vinefera and the fitness facility! I love Vinefera, food and service always excellent. My only recommendation is to update the menu, it has not changed in more than a year!4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was wonderful. ItThe food was wonderful. It was a perfect spot for a Sunday anniversary brunch. We will definitely return for lunch and dinner.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had an enjoyable dinnerWe had an enjoyable dinner & tried the special 3 course Spanish menu. The appetizers & main courses were very good. I had the apple fritter for dessert & found it very heavy with only small bits of grated apple in fried dough. The pistachio ice cream accompanying it was delicious. It was a nice setting. Lots of wines to chose from.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is a great place to goThis is a great place to go for a quiet lunch or a drink after work. It's not crowded at lunch, the food is good, and the servers are gracious. Outdoor seating is especially nice4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMDisappointing Easter BrinchWe are big fans of Vinifera and normally it is a worthy splurge but for Easter Brunch it was actually a ripoff. The fixed price of $49 for adults and 25(!) for a 3 year old was not worth it. The main portions were tiny, although very good, and the buffet appetizers were paltry and unsatisfying. Last year we went to brunch across the way and the price was much less and ad omelet stations and fresh waffles. This seriously paled in comparison. With that said, the staff is extremely accommodating and it is a great restaurant, just not for Easter Brunch3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThe decor was beautiful. TheThe decor was beautiful. The service was impeccable. The menu was varied and everything we ate was delicious. This is a very good restaurant.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMDon't let the fact that thisDon't let the fact that this restaurant is attached to a hotel sway your decision to visit. The wine selection is amazing and the food is top notch.
My suggestion - get a wine flight along with several $1-5 small bite items. Some of these low priced bite items are really just a single bite, but SO worth it. We only ordered a variety of these small-medium sized bite items and were full.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMStill a Great BrunchSecond visit. Warm and friendly staff. Excellent place for a Sunday afternoon brunch. The wait staff and kitchen are very accommodating. This was only our second visit, but the staff remembered us and treated us like old friends. On both of our visits, one of our party requested something from another menu other than the one in service and we were cheerfully served. Great place for a leisurely brunch. We will be back for a third visit3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place will go back.Great place will go back. Had the Tapas menu and salad.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGood all aroundVery good food. Very good service. The menu covers a variety of foods, all prepared perfectly.1/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat SurpriseHave eaten here before. A great dining place. The night of this review, the place was packed ! Service was smooth and friendly. Food is excellent.1/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
