  • "We had dinner and found that the menu has changed dramatically in the past few weeks. Few starters and salads. They want you to spend money on main courses. The chicken was $28.00 and dry, the prime rib was $36.00 and tough with little taste. There was a $3.00 charge for splitting orders. We were in Temecula last November and ate at this restaurant. I had a delicious lamb dish that was now no longer on the menu. My husband had the prime rib and it was juicy and tasty. Our bill was $96.00 with a great bottle of Ridge Zin (a special on Monday night at $25.00)."

  • "It was our first time to South Coast and we absolutely loved it. We went for brunch and had the egg white frittata, salmon, and chicken meals, all of which were fabulous - full of flavor and cooked to perfection. The wine selection is incredible and we definitely enjoyed the Tempranillo Rosé and the Spumante. The service was wonderful, courteous, helpful, and with good timing. We will be back for sure."

Not quite what I imagined a fancy restaurant to serve nor did it state anywhere in the description that it was served in a broth. My husband I have dined here many times as we stay at Southcoast often but we'll be dining elsewhere in the future."

Our table location was perfect and our waitress and her team wasted no time in embracing our every wish. The dining room is beautiful and the ambiance is enhanced by live piano performed by a lovely musician. Great place for vacation dining along with special occasions. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the food and service."

  • "The patio dining was perfect for lunch. Food and wine perfect! The waiter, a little to into entertaining vs providing service however we were happy with service but not the timing in which it was provided. He spent far to much time at the tables entertaining, telling stories and jokes vs providing timely service. We had a schedule we wanted to stick to and were late for the rest of our afternoon. Also, we wanted to sign up for the wine club while at our table and he wanted us to go to the tasting room to sign up, he gave us the forms and recommend who to talk to in the tasting room, he wanted that person to receive the commission. Needless to say, I didn't sign up because I didn't have the time to go to the tasting room. So no wine club."

  • "We went for Sunday morning breakfast. Food was pricey and they charge extra to get toast with breakfast. All our breakfasts came with stone cold potatoes. We told the waiter. He brought more potatoes, but after we had completely finished our breakfast. We told him it was too late, we did not want the potatoes, but he did not care and just put them on the table anyways. He did not offer to do anything to compensate for the cold food, did not even send the manager over. Don't waste your money, go somewhere else for breakfast."

  • "We took some out of town friends here ,which we hadn't seen in 30 years. We have been here many times and love this place but this was a bad experience. It was loud so we had a hard time talking to our friends. The service was not up to par by a long shot and our lunch was terrible. Salad had very little dressing and the hamburger was tasteless. Sorry we spent so much money for such a bad experience."

We requested another quieter table away from the entry, and though there were many unoccupied tables we were told they had no other tables they could move us to. The hostess didn't appear to be interested in trying to accommodate us. A minor disappointment in an otherwise enjoyable dinner."

  • "Besides good food and service and the lovely setting, they now have a 55 and over special menu for lunch. Only $9.99 for a wonderful selection of meals. Mom and I had the grilled cheese, which was pretty amazing. Crispy cheese on each side of the bread, yummy cheeses inside along with sautéed onions and zucchini (which added a nice crunch). This came with a cup of homemade tomato soup that tasted incredibly fresh. Will definitely go there again. Probably one of the best bargains of the vineyards. The waiter suggested we try a bottle of their white wine that ended up being the least expensive on the menu for $23, and it was excellent! My brother had the pizza on the regular menu, which was delicious also."

  • "I treated a friend for her birthday. We had excellent food and service. The best part is we were not rushed. We enjoyed our brunch, the view and the other guests. After we leisurely browesed the shops and ended in the wine tasting room. Six bottles of wine (4 for me and 2 for her,) later we moved outside to the benches with the umbrellas and relaxed untill we could drive safely. The weather was bright, sunny and warm. It is Monday morning and I am still relaxed. We intend to make this a month ritual. Thank you VERY much!"

The service was good, but it did take them a while to take our order. The best thing was they gave my friend a yummy "birthday" dessert for free, without me having to ask. We both are planning to return! The wine and food was great!"

The portions were so large that we actually could have split a meal. Ordered a bottle of South Coasts Cab which was reasonable and very good. Our reservation was at 5:30, we sat by the window and were treated to a beautiful sunset. We will go back soon!"

  • "Temecula in general is a gem. The perfect day trip for anyone living within a couple of hours of the place. You'll feel like you've been able to get away from the day-to-day responsibilities of life for a few hours. South Coast is a nice winery. The restaurant is good for groups, couples, and nice for outdoor dining. Service was mediocre. Food was good, but a little on the high price point side. The outdoor patio could be changed a little to make it more pleasing. All-in-all I would still recommend this to friends. The Syrah I had with lunch was pretty awesome."

  • "The food was lacking...we were looking to have a dining experience without looking at price....but seeing the skimpy portions we got for salmon ($22) and the thin crust pizzas at $16 each....it wasn't what we wanted. We wanted VERY fresh fish that would fill a man, it was two 110 lb women eating (over 60!) and we went away not satisfied. At least the wine was good"

The service was whatever, He came said hi, took our order, brought our food, brought our check...that was it. There was nothing special or outstanding about our service. The only person who really enjoyed their food out of the 5 of us what my mother who said he omelette was very good, while everyone else didn't comment. The food wasn't bad but no where near worth the price. The burger and sandwiches were nothing more special then a Denny's Restaurant."

  • "About the third time I've dined at the Vineyard Rose. The service was outstanding, far better than your average restaurant experience. The ambiance was outstanding, also. Some of the food was 5 star, but a few of our choices had very small portions, and I would only give 3 stars. As an appetizer, the blue crab cakes tasted great, but were tiny, not worth $14. I also had their version of a surf and turf, but was definitely disappointed with the portion size of this $47 dish. The steak was not too great, either. Pretty tough, and didn't come with any starch, just a small bed of greens. The beer and wine, chowder, and creme brulee were great, though. My advice is to hunt for menu items that will give you the best return for your money."

  • "Got a $100 gift card for this resort. Decided to take my wife there for her birthday. Ambiance was very nice and the service was very good. We each ordered a small bowl of soup (very tasty) a braised mushroom appetizer that was average in taste. I ordered the scallops (4 decent sized scallops and 4 sprigs of asparagus) for $35. It was very tasty. My wife ordered the salmon (small, dry, fishy tasting piece of salmon and a small salad as the side) for $30. We each had water and no wine or other drinks. The bill was $101 for a meal that was maybe worth half of that..............maybe."
