The scallop main course was prepared with a spicy tomato olive sauce instead of the buerre blanc sauce described in the menu. Also, the freshness of the orange roughy was questionable."

Our waiter Sean (sp?) was most excellent and the ambiance was really lovely. Dinner was quite yummy and that creme brulee was fantastic! The following morning breakfast was also quite delicious."

  • "to consider the Vineyard Rose "fine dining" is ridiculous. The food is not good. My clam chowder tasted like it came from a can and the flourless chocolate cake was not even edible. I found the wine to be good, however, I found it hard to enjoy the outdoor patio because there was a wedding going on in the lawn below so I had to eat the terrible food all the while listening to some equally terrible dance music. I feel that the hostess could have let us know that there was a wedding taking place so we could choose an indoor table. To top it off, we ordered coffee at the end of our meal and it was the worst coffee I have ever had. We were staying in one of the villas at SCW and so we were offered free breakfast the next day...we declined"

  • "Took my parents to lunch here when they were visiting from out of town, and had a great experience. The entire staff was friendly and accommodating, from the hostess to our servers. Sat out on the veranda and enjoyed the beautiful view and great wine. I highly recommend sitting outside if the weather allows. Our waiter was knowledgeable and friendly, and the food was excellent. It's quite pricey thought ($22 for a shrimp salad!) so the manu takes some navigating if you're not willing to spend your paycheck on lunch."

  • "We had dinner at Vineyard Rose on October 3, 2014. Our waiter was Philip and his service was excellent. Our wine glass was never empty and he even helped me with my lobster tail so I didn't end up wearing it. The lobster was tender and sweet. My accompanying steak was cooked to perfection and full of rich flavor. We had a bottle of the South Coast Winery's Mourvedre with our meal and not only did it go well with our main courses, it was the perfect with the flourless chocolate cake we had for dessert."

  • "The restaurant is well decorated and has an intimate atmosphere in spite of being so large and open. The food was good--my wife had the salmon and I had the Filet Mignon. The Filet was well prepared, but a bit undersized for the price. Great flourless chocolate cake for desert, but the coffee had to be replaced since it was lukewarm when served. Regardless of the minor shortcomings, the meal was exceptional overall and a perfect end to a great day of wine tasting!"

  • "Joe is our cousin and he set us up with veranda seats but we had already made reservations in the restaurant so we used those first. I had some dental work done that morning so I could not enjoy what my stomach wanted me to have but soup was wonderful and my husband (big meat eater) stated that the prime rib was the best he had ever had! The guest service was above and beyond! From the gift shop to the dining to Ed outside directing traffic and sharing the history of the property with me. I happened to notice the owners picture on the wall and then walked passed him and let him know his dream come true was a wonderful and beautiful place. We are harley riders and have decided this will be a stop for our next ride through Temecula!!"

  • "How great wood it be to stay at this great resort without moving your car to another restaurant? Unfortunately for the third time we were disappointed with the quality of the food. The chicken was overdone. The desert was not notable. The only great dish was the cheese and charcuterie plate with the local honey. For this amount one pays it is not worth while. However good food is hard to find in Temeculy wine country for dinner!"

My wife ordered pork chops, which I normally don't care for. She insisted that I try them, and I was amazed at how tender and moist they were.   • "We were extremely excited to visit the Vineyard Rose. We were expecting awesome food, service, and a view! While we weren't let down by the view and the food the rest of the experience overshadowed the positives enough to ensure we will not be back. We were seated outside and in the wineries this creates for a horrible fly problem. To the point you are unable to take a break from swatting flies off of your plate to eat. I understand that being outside this just comes with the territory however there are some tactics they can take to minimize this problem. Furthermore our service was terrible. We were constantly in waiting for beverages (I never received a refill) and waited 30+ minutes after boxing our food to receive our bill."

The gazpacho ceviche had the most fish and seafood I have ever had in the past. I had the salmon and my date and the lamb. The lamb was a bit over priced but both dishes were awesome. The service on this day was spotty. While I do recommend the restaurant it is more for the view and camaraderie than the food and service."

  • "We were in Temecula wine country for my husband's birthday. We opted to wine taste at South Coast winery and then dine at the Vineyard Rose restaurant. The wine tasting room was very crowded, they did not have enough staff pouring wine and the wine's were not fabulous ... drinkable but not memorable. At the restaurant it took a few minutes for the hostess to see we were there. Once seated our service was excellent. Our table was comfortable and felt semi-private, the waiter provided a nice overview of the menu and answered our questions and our water glasses were kept full (important in hot Temecula after a day of wine tasting). We shared a salad. I had the pork chop and my husband had the prime rib. Both of our meals were delicious!"

  • "Very poor service and dinner food! However their breakfast is great! Don't waste your money on dinner though, 26 dollars for 5 spinach raviolis that were terrible and 36 dollars for a tough overcooked prime rib with an under cooked baked potato! Terrible desert too! They brought out pineapple cheese cake, couldn't even finish 1 bite that's how bad it was, then they gave us chocolate cake to go. When we got back to our room and opened the box it had melted ice cream with a little silver of cake, which we only took one bite and threw it out. However, we returned in the morning for mimosa breakfast and it was great! Food was fabulous, service was great! You wouldn't even know it was the same place!"
