Located in Carmel Valley Village the Vineyard Bistro quickly became another gem in the scenic area, with Owner/Chef Jimmy Ugaz greeting customers, warm attentive staff, and of course delicious food.
To this day Vineyard Bistro is committed to serving the freshet local produce and seafood from the Monterey Bay. Enjoy meals from fork-tender braised lamb shank, mouth-watering sautéed veal liver, or flavorful duck. It's the perfect spot for a lively dinner with friends, a romantic dinner for two by the fireplace, or weekend brunch/lunch outside in the garden before wine tasting. The Bistro also specializes in private events if you have a business dinner or wedding rehearsal.

  • "We had two fantastic fish dishes, but also an undercooked artichoke drowning in balsamic reduction, a beet salad with great produce but a layer of thick/funky goat cheese under the salad (?) and also slathered in balsamic reduction. Great ingredients but poorly presented and prepared. The outdoor patio has cheap and poorly hung Christmas lights, not fitting the prices on the menu. There were cobwebs all over the fence we were seated next to."

  • "I hesitate to give the raving review that this restaurant deserves in fear that it will become popular to the extent that we locals might have trouble getting reservations at last minute which we seem to do! Expect to receive warm and welcoming service, not overdone but you feel that they are happy to have you as diners. Menu is not overwhelming but covers our likes, usually a fresh fish, a meat special and changing desserts...Otherwise the menu is full of varied courses and our favorite appetizer is the stuffed mushrooms.... We have always been happy with our choices at this family restaurant."

  • "Fresh fish of the day prepared with delicious French sauces. The pasta dishes were greatly appreciated by my two friends, and the halibut I had was divine. Service was exceptional. We called ahead to ask if we could be served relatively faster than is usual at a French restaurant where one's dinner is carefully prepared, as my friends had an appointment on the other side of town; they took care of us immediately and beautifully, and we had finished well in time for them to make their appointment. Another thing we all appreciated was that we asked for bread and got it; had we not asked, it would not have been offered as this fine restaurant has everything, yet wastes nothing. By the way, the bread is wonderful, too. Solo eating is also fine."

  • "I had made reservations for 6:30pm through Open Table, then changed them to 7pm. When I called on Saturday to see if we could be bit later they still showed my reservation for 6:30pm. I told them I had a confirmation for 7pm. They said we could not arrive any later, that it was a very busy weekend and they could not accomodate us later. So we RUSHED back to the hotel, checked in, barely showered an RACED out to the restaurant to find barely anyone there. Not a soul outside and there must have been 15 tables at least, and only 7 or 8 tables full inside. No explanation at all. Wierd. I assume they were short staffed. Food was good but not remarkable."

  • "Rated as best in town but not. My salad drowned in balsamic which overwhelmed other flavours. Seafood special lacking taste and bland - needed better fish stock. Partner's rack of lamb however declared as delicious and her salad better. Friday night and few diners and no buzz. Service good."

  • "I took three friends to Vineyard Bistro on a Friday evening. None of them had ever dined there even though they all live on the Monterey peninsula. They were so impressed with the ambience, especially enjoying a restaurant where conversation can be heard. The service was impeccable......the food was( as always) superb. These guests were men who are executives in corporations, and travel world-wide. It was, for all of us, a wonderful dining experience."
