  • "We went specifically to celebrate our anniversary. They are definitely known for the wine but it was not our forte. The food was good but again, not one for the marinades and spices. The service was great and they made every effort to please. The music was excellent - got a surprise when a customer got up to sing - she was great! Just wanted to go to an upscale restaurant to celebrate 23 years."

  • "I so enjoy eating out and I always try to match a restaurant with a special occasion. I had visited the Vines bar once with my boyfriend, Robert but had not eaten there. One of my co-workers and his wife visit often and told me how wonderful it was, So for a special dinner I made reservations. I was not disappointed. Everything was perfect...the food, the service, the friendliness and knowledge of the staff. The musical group even sang Happy Birthday to Robert. It was a most excellent evening and we plan on coming often. We even tried the octopus appetizer! Delicious. Thank you again, Jackie Brockington."

  • "We've been to some pretty name places in the last year and so we do know sophisticated service and dining. This was not it. Pricey for no reason. We had very poor service - after a pretentious mention that we had two wait staff. Adam, one of our servers, could have cared less for service. Very inattentive. Long waits and plates left for long periods. This was a birthday celebration (which we mentioned at the beginning of the meal). Did the offer any special attention? Not even a complimentary dessert. The wine was a selection we are very familair with and buy it at Total Wine for under $20. Vines had it at $60. What a rip off. Ok, the food was pretty good. We think this has become a tourist attraction. Locals stay away!"

The only reason why I didn't give all five stars for the service is because the waiter forgot to tell us about the dinner specials. We started with two waiters, so maybe one thought the other had already done it. Overall, it was a great evening."

  • "The ambiance, bar area, music and service was very enjoyable. The food was good as well but at $46 for Sea Bass it's a bit much. There are so many options in the area that to charge the prices they do, something should stand out as extraordinary. The food was good, and maybe even very good but I would not go back to this restaurant at that price range. The bench seat we were in was also broken. Given the dining area is very close to the bar/music area, be prepared to speak up if with a guest."

  • "The atmosphere is great with a cool bar and nice jazz as a backdrop. The restaurant is more formal. We split a giant $100 steak and had asparagus as a side. Both tasted of liquid smoke though I suspect that they had just overdone the mesquite. Good wine list, attentive service. The price though is simply too high for the package. As in take your breath away. I'd stick with drinks at the bar."

  • "Have dined at Vines many times. This last experience was by far, the most disappointing. Soup came out cold, took until the third bowl for it to be warm, waiter forgot bread (even after it was asked for twice) until after the third soup was delivered. Steaks came out and had clearly been sitting under some type of warmer because of the soup issue. No managers were seen during dinner or came to check on the meal. Called and left a message asking for a call back and no response. Extremely disappointed with this experience."

  • "The ambience when arriving is perfect. I selected the restaurant originally for the live Jazz but I was pleasently surprised with the restaurant and menu. I dine in 5 star restaurants all over the country including NYC and I found the prices to be at least 20 - 30% higher than most others. The restaurant was emty.I would say this would be the reason. Disapointing as it will stop me from returning."

  • "Although the restaurant is known for steaks, I had the "chef composed" Chilean sea bass dish, which was terrific. The fish portion was much larger than one usually gets at other nice restaurants. I started with the grilled octopus, which comes not as a chunk or two of tentacle, but rather chopped into small pieces and immersed in a nice dressing with red onions and capers. I thought it slightly on the salty side, but it was still an outstanding preparation that I would gladly have again. My dining companion started with the escargot, for which she gave effusive praise (and she lives in Paris!!!) and as her main dish had the wild salmon, a large portion of fish that she said was delicious."

  • "Could have done better I'm the steak department.... especially since they are revered to as a prime steakhouse. Longbone ribeye is partially a ripoff since the bone weighs heavily into the 30ozs the menu boasts. My steak had to be sent back because I ordered medium and it came out rare at best, then came back medium well; but I didn't make a fuss. Chilean Sea bass was awesome; good portion, cooked and seasoned perfectly. Lobster Mac and cheese was so-so, definitely not worth 24 bucks. Live music and moscato was good, therefore rounding out a decently overpriced dining experience. I would go back since the staff (vinny) was very nice and attentive, but would not have steak, or tuna appetizer. Would try other things."

  • "We went to Vines for a business dinner last week and the food was very good. However, the jazz music was so loud it was hard to hear any conversation at the table. Also, the service was not what I would expect a fine dining establishment. The hostess did not even acknowledge me, even though I stood in front of her for 2 minutes. Once we were seated it was very hard to get our waiter's attention. He was always rushing away from our table, which kept us from ordering more wine and desserts. It's a good place if you like the noise and bustle and live music, but for great service and the ability to hear your dining companions try someplace else."

  • "Wonderful service - ask for Johnny. I don't drink wine but they have a massive wine list. They rotate their menus occasionally but every item is excellent. Their Beef Carpaccio is tender and always prepared just right. I typically order a steak and it's always a tough decision but I've never been disappointed. The sides are flavorful and if they have the pork belly gnocci be sure to have it, wonderful! The hostesses are never friendly and never acknowledge a return guest or at least they don't like me. Also, one of my favorite servers, Alex, was let go. Apparently one of the owner's friends didn't like him and BAM fired the next day. Really sad, he was always wonderful to us. I think that was a mistake. But Go. Enjoy. "

  • "This place was simply great. I went for a special birthday for a party of two around 6pm on a saturday. It started to get jumping a little later and when the live jazz band lights up around 7pm that's when you REALLY felt the vibe. The servers were fantastic it's fine dining but they didn't take themselves too seriously and were personable & cracking jokes. The sea bass just melted in my mouth sooooo delicious! My girl had the Wagyu steak and said it was "the best steak ever point blank period full stop" She said she was going to make a pilgrimage to the burial site of the cow to thank it personally lol. The only thing negative I would say is to allow yourself a little extra time if you have after plans things can run a little long."

  • "My wife & I dined there over the weekend. An excellent wine list and great service. The bar adjoins the restaurant and therefore the restaurant is loud and busy. Much foot traffic from a large number of waiters means that this is not the place for a romantic dinner. It's a busy place with really good food, but bustling and noisy too The steaks were excellent but should have been at over $50.00 a plate. Wait staff is very attentive - almost too much so, it was rushed at the end. All in all, we'll go back, but there are other more romantic venues in the area."
