Diner Reviews
  • "I have been to the Vineland Estates Winery restaurant several times. It always succeeds in presenting great food combined with superior service (the servers always seem to know when to come around - they do not hover nor do you have to chase them). Combine this with their superb wines, and it is a combination I always feel more than worth the drive to the Niagara region"

  • "The chefs special five course meal is always excellent and I love doing the wine pairings with each course. It's a great way to try different wines. The view from the restaurant is beautiful too!"

  • "We were celebrating my husband's birthday. We were greeted with graciousness, shown our table then asked if it was we wanted. Immediately after being seated refreshments were offered. (Now this to me is important, you may think this is silly but..,) we were given a glass if water that was RO water! No city water with awful chlorine smell permeating. The rest of the evening went just as well. This is a definite 5 star plus restaurant. Food was EXCELLENT. Service just as. Thanks to all for this great experience."

  • "My boyfriend and I went for lunch with some friends. We were testing the food and checking out the property for the couples future wedding. In regards to food, everyone loved the artisan breads, specifically the purple walnut bread. Everything else was pretty good, but nothing stood out. It is a beautiful place for a wedding and you will be getting high quality food. Everything was pretty good, but after experiencing it once we are comfortable moving on. The portion sizes are not equal amongst all the dishes. I ordered the chicken which was delicious, but the other three entrees looked small compared to mine and left others feeling unsatisfied. We were also seated in a very cold room, even though there was room in the warmer rooms."

  • "my husband I had an anniversary lunch on dec. 16th. server recommended food and wines and everything was great. this time I took my granddaughter for her 25th birthday lunch. I raved about the calamari and the fish and chips because of our last lunch. well.......it wasn't that special. the calamari wasn't as crisp as I remembered and the chips were a tad soggy and soft. on our first visit we had sweet potato fries and they were absolutely perfect. they made the plate. with ordinary potatoes the whole dish lost it's "specialness". would you perhaps consider the substitute in future fish and chip dishes? to be honest, I was kind of disappointed with the experience however this won't stop us coming back. this is just a suggestion."

  • "Food was very good...however service was incredibly slow! While we wanted a leisurely lunch, waiting 45 minutes for our main course seemed extreme...also, the dining room was freezing!"

  • "It was a romantic private experience. We were the only ones there. Having made a reservations early was a good thing. We were served with top notch service. The food was simply amazing. The food was a mouth full of complex and wonderful flavours. The night was a winter magical."

Service was at the top notch..great team work and a lot of friendly smile. I work in the hospitality myself. You did an excellent work. Next time I'll be back for dinner instead for sure. Thank you.Ut"

  • "There is always a great excitement in the air when we know we are going to have dinner at Vineland! A bit like going home after you haven't been for while. The Chef never disappoints us; the food is always outstanding. We love the tasting menu because we never know what to expect except great pleasure!"

  • "We decided on the tasting menu since we knew it would make our evening even more special. I have many food restrictions so I was unsure of what they would be able to come up with but I trusted the chefs completely. I had high expectations coming in and they did not disappoint! Our meal was spectacular from the amuse to the dessert. Afterwards my husband and I could not decide on what course was our favorite since each one was a delight. The wine parings were perfect and Vineland's wine continues to be our favorite local wine choice. Jason was our server and his service was perfect he was attentive without being overbearing. All in all it was a magical evening!"

  • "This was my third trip to Vineland Estates Restaurant and on every occasion I have enjoyed great food and service. The outdoor area is particularly nice during the summer, but there is a very nice view all year round. This restaurant was recommended to me and I have brought friends and family, all of whom thoroughly enjoyed it."

  • "We have eaten here a number of times. The food is outstanding always, wine selection is good and the staff is the best! In the summer the deck overlooks the vineyards and Lake Ontario and you would be hard pressed to know that you were not in Tuscany. It is one of my all time favorite places."

  • "My husband and I ate here for dinner with my parents on the patio this past summer, and returned on Saturday to not only dine with the restaurant, but stay over at Vineland's b&b cottage and do a Crush wine tour (recommended by Vineland). The entire stay was simply magical. The tasting at Vineland was lovely, the tour was fantastic, dinner was delicious (we had an entire section of the restaurant to ourselves and each course was perfection), and the b&b cottage was cozy yet big for two people (I recommend it to anyone looking to spend time in the area, as it was very nice, located right on the property, you have the place to yourself with a stocked fridge to cook a fresh breakfast in the morning and was so reasonably priced - a hidden gem!)"

  • "Went with friends for a special occasion. If you like all kinds if food you can't go wrong with the 5 course pre set menu. The wine pairing option makes it a lot of fun as well. It's a great chance to try a variety if wines. By the end of the week I don't want to make any more decisions so there is that bonus too. Service was attentive but unhurried. We spent over 3 hours enjoying our meal and wines. We might have to splurge for the reserve pairing next time."

  • "We had lunch there on our way to Niagara Falls and were amazed at the high quality of food and service experienced at this restaurant. The atmosphere was wonderful, airy, comfortable and overlooking their vineyard. The seafood chowder was rich and tasty. The duck confit was cooked perfectly with crispy skin. The beef sirloin was tender. The wine paired with our food very well. We would recommend it to anyone."

  • "we came for lunch. two of us had fantastic meals - the beef cheek in particular was phenomenal. the other two of us were less fortunate, with dishes that were underseasoned and overcooked."

  • "Vineland Estates Winery Restaurant is one of our favourite Fine Dining eateries. Our anniversary was on a Monday this year and we chose to celebrate it at Vineland Estates. A fortunate choice of dates as we were the only reservation that evening so it seemed that the whole restaurant and staff were there just to help us celebrate. Complimentary Sparkling Riesling and oysters started us off followed by an excellent salad for my wife and a smoked trout starter for me. We moved on to wonderful chicken and duck dishes paired with a Pinot Meunier that our server recommended. We finished off with espresso, a couple of excellent shared desserts and a glass of Late Harvest Riesling. Note: restaurant closes Monday and Tuesday after holidays."

  • "We have a brunch with a table of 4, 3 of us ordered the 3 courses creative menu. The appetizer was great, pair with the wine perfectly. The main dish is sirloin steak with mashed and veggies, the taste are not bad, but all 3 steaks came out cold, not even warm. We brought this up to our server and she brought this back to the chef and told us they will make us new dishes. After 5 minutes, the server brought us some 'new dishes'; these dishes didn't looks new at all, the portion is smaller, the steak are medium finish instead of medium ware. To me, the dishes are a mix of 3 dishes, warm it up in the oven and re-plated it. I gave them a chance to fix it but they did not fix it properly, I decided to leave it and enjoy my day."

  • "The food was outstanding, but there was prix fixe tasting menu for $75. and the main course was a striploin. Since I do not eat red meat, I asked if there could be a substitution. The waiter (Jason) said no, and unless he had been advised ahead of time to say this, I would have appreciated it if had consulted the chef. The weather was not good, and the restaurant was not busy, and this was the first time that I had been in a restaurant that did not offer a substitution for its tasting menu. Other wineries in the area have done it. I was quite disappointed. We were a group of 6 people, having our company Christmas dinner."

  • "We were offered a lovely appetizer of Salmon and quail egg. It was a surprise and we enjoyed it along with our nice warm bread. We had a great white wine pino there. I love the wines made in the Beamsville Bench area. Our starters were an adventure of food I would never of thought of pairing together. The calamari with a roasted pork and sauce and a pasta done with clams and giant shrimps. Check out the menu on line. Our entres were wonderful and each bite was a special treat. We also had a wonderful dessert of the day. As we were ready to leave 2 hours later we were given two airport size bottles of ice wine. Another surprise! Our waitress was attentive and sweet and not at all in our face. An anniversary to remember!"

  • "We had a group of 6 of us, two of whom are vegetarians. I had emailed ahead and mentioned this and when we arrived there were several vegetarian options that had been added for our group. The service was impeccable, not obtrusive but always there when we needed it. Because it was a week day in November the restaurant was very quiet. We were initially the only table and then one more table of 6 arrived. The food was outstanding! There were little nuances in each course that made them all taste incredible. Everyone in our group thought that their food was some of the best they'd ever had. The prices are fairly high, but no more than you would expect from a high calibre restaurant... about $90 pp including 20% tip and alcohol."

  • "My wife and I had our wedding at Vineland estates last year and decided to go there for an anniversary lunch. The food, service, atmosphere and scenery were all just as great as we remembered. The prices are on the high end but worth every penny. This is a great place to have a special occasion meal."

  • ""We enjoyed the vview, the simple decor and the feel of the place - like a cottage home overlooking the lake. The mussels were done to perfection and the duck confit was mouth watering. I went with the cheese slate to finish it off and the balance of the table went with the cheese cake -- they delighted.. Service was well-timed and friendly, and the wines well suited (started with a Dry Reisling, followed by a Cabernet Franc with the meal and ended with a Chenin Blanc with the cheese)."

  • "This is such a fab and magical place, with a most gorgeous view. Not only is the atmosphere amazing, but the food NEVER disappoints! Not once and we've been back every year during the fall foliage season over the past four years. Our grilled calamari app we shared was beautifully done and the best part underneath was a gorgeous cut of pork belly. Yummy! For our mains, I opted for the Duck Leg Confit, which I have to say was prepared and seasoned so well that it ranks right up there as one of my best duck mains. Loved it and the crispy skin, heavenly! My hubby got the special of the day, Flank Steak, that was beyond a regular Flank. Beautifully done and way above average. We left room to share a dessert, which was the carrot cake, A+."

  • "Vineland is my absolute favourite place to visit for lunch and dinner. The service is impeccable, the variety of dishes is always an adventure and combines the best and highest quality of ingredients. The wines are completing the delightful experience."

  • "given the pricing ($24 for a leg of duck confit and not much else) the cooking should be perfect and it wasn't. It was good, but the duck was a little on the dry side and much too salty (for my taste admittedly). The desert was also quite small and the pumpkin tart a bit bland - the ice cream and salted caramel were very good. Only the ordinary wines are offered by the glass for the most part when you go a la carte. Service was excellent, but they weren't very busy when we were there."

  • "They seemed unprepared and unprofessional. The food took over an hour to arrive after we ordered it. The staff had very litte knowledge of their vineyard's wines. The food was not bad but overpriced. The view is pretty but that is the only plus."

  • "We arrived at Vineland about 4:30 pm on a Friday.... It Was beautiful. We did some wine tasting and the staff was Very knowledgeable And friendly. Although they closed at 6pm and they ran us out the door. Our reservations were for 6:30pm and we were the only ones in the restaurant. The view was breathtaking in the restaurant overlooking the vineyards. We had the halibut and it was amazing!!! I would also reccomend te 5 course Chef's creation, it was so tasty, better bang for your buck. Portions are VERY small For pasta options- I would stay away from it. They wait Staff was a little young and inexperienced."

  • "Coming from aurora, we made it to the restaurant to find a power outage. The power, they claimed, had been out for 45min and they did not know if it was going to come back on. They claimed that they could not call because their system was down. They did not take our names, they did not make any apologies, but they did however ask us to wait in the vestibule to see if the power would come back on, at which time they would allow us to sit and have a drink. After making reservations for an anniversary such as I did, an apology, a spot to sit, and maybe a glass of wine (it is a winery) on the house shouldn't be too much to ask. I am appalled by the service and lack of service of this restaurant and will not recommend it to others."
