Vine Brook TavernGreat Place, Great ServiceHad Mother's Day dinner here. They were very solicitous of my mother and her walker. Food was great, service excellent. Would definitely return.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMTry this one out-It is special.Great food, great wine, great drinks, great service. Everything to like here.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had amazing service andWe had amazing service and an unbelievable meal. The crispy pork shank appetizer was one of the best things I have ever eaten!!!!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMNice find in LexingtonFirst time at the Tavern, they've hired well! Great staff there, food was upscale for a tavern and really well done. Good options for everyone. Spaghetti squash was really good as was the tuna for an appetizer. Its fairly open so its noisy but that made for a vibrant feel. Nice to see this in Lexington, will be back.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have gone twice to VB.We have gone twice to VB. the first time I was underwhelmed and decided to give it another try. Unfortunately the second time did not impress us either. I love, love, love the atmosphere but the food is mediocre at best.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstandingWe visited Vine Brook Tavern and could not possibly4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMA surprisingly good meal. This was our first time at this local restaurant . We got off to an iffy start, when the hostess put us at a table that was way too big for our party of 3. she was reluctant to move us, even though the section we were in had lots of room. So, we rearranged our place settings to make it more comfortable.
The menu was both interesting and varied. our waitress was top-notch- informed attentive, and patient. The food was mostly exceptional. Pork dumplings were fantastic. The AHI tuna special was cooked just right, and the cod cassoulet was delicious. (I thought that my meatloaf was "just meatloaf", but "What do you expect when you order meatloaf?")
All in all- a surprisingly good meal. We will definitely come back.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, Nice setting, NoisyGreat food and service, but I found it hard to have a conversation at our table for four due to the noise level.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWell - have been wanting toWell - have been wanting to check this out since it opened.
First chance was tonight, April 11th.
Fantastic experience - we only had time for appetizers but got PLENTY of attentive and non invasive service.
Our server, Lisa, was fabulous - making sure that we got the best experience possible within our 45 minute window!
We will go back next week with plenty of time to spare and further explore the menu.4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMMediocre at bestFood and service were good. A bit loud for our taste. Bartender screwed my drink up 2x. Takes forever to get a refill on waters. Next time I go will sit at the bar an probably get a glass of wine because the drinks are no where near the price for what you get!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat neighborhood restaurantGreat menu, excellent service in a local setting. We all enjoyed our meals and definitely will return.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMVery nice time saturday night!Very nice time saturday night! Dinner and service were spot on- looking forward to next visit3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMneighborhood favoriteExcellent service, super attentive waitstaff, great food recommendations. Overall, we had a great night!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMNice waiter, pleasant withNice waiter, pleasant with our mixed age group aged 7-77. My husband' s beer order was forgotten and once reminded, waiter took too long to deliver, with no apology. Despite having asked for a specific table and been assured of availability, we were not seated there. Plating fee for birthday cake we brought in was a little high. They were experiencing electrical issues - there was a bright light near our table that regularly and continuously dimmed which though it sounds benign was very distracting. Overall, service was nice, food was well timed, attractively presented and delicious.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMVBT is a gem! This restaurant was highly recommended to us by friends & we're so glad we tried it! They have a most delicious New England Clam Chowder, served in a stainless steel pot. And their Calamari Frites is different from all others we've tried -- strips of fried calamari (instead of rings & tentacles) in a sweet & sour sauce, over a nappa salad. Absolutely delicious! The Winter Salad was also very tasty and a nice balance to the special Steak Sandwich with fried egg. The service was excellent - our waiter, Wayne, was very attentive. And the manager, Frank, made sure we were welcomed and well taken care of. The decor is perfect for this restaurant. Vine Brook Tavern is a gem in Lexington Center; we look forward to bringing our friends.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed our dinner -- waiterWe enjoyed our dinner -- waiter very knowledgeable - service excellent - food quite delicious
They need to think of access to second floor -- stairs are difficult for handicapped -3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMNice new Lexington optionI live in Lexington and just tried the Vine Brook Tavern for the first time. Excellent gastropub food. Nice casual atmosphere. Definitely a better option than the two other local choices, Lexx or Villa Lago. Service was enthusiastic and friendly. I will be a returning customer3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMA wide range of well doneA wide range of well done comfort foods with high end twists. Occasional flops like a fatty lamb offering.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMSecond time at Vine BrookSecond time at Vine Brook in a week and it was just as fantastic as the first time. The offerings are based on superb quality ingredients and the dishes are both friendly and innovative; a rare mix. We've waited a long time for this gem. Now that it's here, we are going almost weekly.2/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome!!!It was our second visit here & we brought a couple of friends. Did not realize how HUGE this place is from our 1st visit. So glad we were able to secure a reservation here last night. It was a full house & then some. The host who took us upstairs was so friendly. We had a couple of waiters for our table because of the large party behind us. We started out by sharing lobster sliders & steamed dumplings. Then the men had cod cassoulets (which my husband said he will always order here), my friend had the meatloaf, and I had the almond & sesame crusted sea bass ( which I was told was the owner's favorite). We all enjoyed a our meals thoroughly! Manager Frank even remembered us from our 1st visit & came to say hi despite being busy..first rate!1/26/2013 12:00:00 AMExceeded our expectation!!WOW!!! We were greeted by the most pleasant host. Then a friendly & knowledgable waitress took over. But wait wait...then the manager, Frank, introduced himself to us & visited our table a couple of times during dinner to simply chit chat with us. Even the food runner was extremely pleasant! A++ for customer service.
Delicious!! We started out with a very satisfying lobster sliders for apps. Then my husband & I both ordered roasted cod cassoulets. It was a wonderful blend of seafood, chorizo, potatoes & beans. Very rustic & hearty, and full of flavors. We shared a mouth watering chocolate cake for dessert.
This is a truly a neighborhood gem. We look forward to going back. Wishing you guys much success! Thanks for a wonderful evening12/22/2012 12:00:00 AM
