Diner Reviews
  • "A true Louisville treasure, you cannot beat the food or service."

  • "Very little shrimp and zucchini in the pasta. I was informed that you were "out" of the wine we wanted and the waitress offered two "comparable" wines. Had I taken her word and not looked, I would not have known that the wine was $70 and $100 instead of $35 like the original one was. Hardly comparable and I believe was done intentionally to jack the price of the meal up because we were using a groupon. The waitress also added a 18% tip onto the check claiming groupon required it and would not take it off when complained about it.. The restaurant is the one who offers groupons because obviously their business is down so they shouldn't treat customers this way when they use them."

  • "Excellent food (as always), nice menu and daily specials, good wine list and house wines are very good, background piano music was very nice, and service is always the best. We have celebrated a few of our anniversaries here, as well as just nice dinner out place."

  • "I loved the dim lighting and atmosphere. It was a lovely place to celebrate our anniversary."

  • "While visiting Louisville, KY - My friend and I had lunch at Vincenzo's. We started with Toasted Ravioli, which came out pipping hot and the sauce seasoned to perfection. I had the creamy Lemon Risotto. It was fabulous, the scallops were plentiful and huge! Perfect meal for a rainy day, comfort food at its best. My friend had the Lasagna, and loved it. Also warm and comforting. The staff is very attentive and friendly. If in Louisville, you must eat hear, you will not be disappointed. I assure you."

  • "We dined here before a concert (Billy Joel-how appropriate-Scenes from an Italian Restaurant!) and it was superb. The staff (you will have many!) was extremely attentive! The food was outstanding, as was the service. Much is prepared table side, so that was fun! The restaurant is in an historic building, and the ambiance is nice, but one thing we found odd--the restrooms are not very nice. I know that sounds weird, but they are in serious need of a face-lift. The women's had broken fixtures and a tacky fake plant. Even my husband commented on how not nice the men's room was. But we didn't go there for the restrooms, so this is not a huge negative, just an observation. This is a great restaurant though, so we will definitely be back!"

  • "We had the 5 course champagne dinner. The food and special attention were outstanding."

  • "Garry was a great captain and the men under him were good, the only thing I would suggest is that they could smile."

  • "This is our second time dining at Vincenzo's Restaurant and we came back for the food. Once again, the food was outstanding and so was our service. The only critic we had of the restaurant (which is small and not a deal-breaker) is that there was no mood. We were dining late this evening so there was only two-three other tables with customers so the restaurant was very quiet. Besides hearing everyone else's conversation it was almost uncomfortably silent. We thought some quietly played italian music in the background would have been perfect. Again, a very small critic, but it was enough that we noticed. Highly recommend this restaurant for the food and service!"

  • "Very impressive restaurant. Food was great, but the service was excellent. From the host to the wait staff, everyone went out of their way to make our visit extraordinary. Mr. Vincenzo even came to our table and thanked us for the visit."

  • "It has been many years since I last dined at Vincenzo's -- I've moved away front the area -- and was pleased to see they still knock it out of the park."

  • "I had heard great things about this place, but it far exceeded my expectations. I was there with a group of 12; we were in town for a convention we attend every year. Before people were finished with their meals, they were demanding I make a reservation for next year immediately. We'll be back, for sure!"

  • "This was our second visit to Vincenzo's and the service and food were impecable. They make you feel like your the only one in the restaurant. I can't wait till our next visit."

  • "The service was not rushed. Our entrees were all delicious and the Cesar salad excellent as usual."
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "The food was wonderful. The appetizers, entrees and dessert were delicious, and the wines by the glass were reasonably priced and still very good. Most aspects of the service were great--filled water glasses, cleared plates, etc. But our main server was pretty abrupt with us. He seemed to concentrate more on the needy table next to us and the overly talkative pompous windbag at the other table next to us. And then a VIP guest arrived, so we pretty much go no attention from him, despite spending $200 on the meal. He didn't even list the specials. The only other semi-complaint is the table-side preparation of food. It's fun, but also a little over the top. One or two dishes could be made table-side, but not everything."

  • "Although my wife and I had heard nothing but good comments about the restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised that all aspects of our dining experience exceeded our expectations. From the minute that you walk in the front door everyone that you come into contact with seems genuinely concerned that you enjoy your time there. We will return, but next time it will be a special occasion since the cost of the experience is commensurate with the quality. This is definitely one of the top three restaurants in Louisville."

  • "Our family has been celebrating special occasions at Vincenzo's for more than 20 years and enjoying the same excellent quality of food, surroundings and service. There has never been a time when Vincenzo himself didn't greet us at the door. Impressive! We will continue the tradition of dining at Vincenzo's. Five stars always!!"

  • "The service was excellent and our requests were well received as well as expediated. My only complaint was the cosmos cocktail was not very good."

  • "This is one of the finest restaurants in Kentucky. We often travel from Lexington just to eat there. This visit was well worth the effort, as always. The food was splendid and the service impressive. It is an elegant and satisfying dining experience."

  • "We've been to Vincenzo's a few times and have always enjoyed the food and their pretty decent wine list. Go with eyes wide open, however - the good food and drink comes at a premium price."

  • "Very nice restaurant. They brought our food out and partly cooked it in front of us. A lot of service. We felt welcome and wanted. We were celebrating a birthday, and they brought out a very large piece of birthday cake that the 3 of us were able to share. We enjoyed eating there."

  • "We love this restaurant for business dinners. Wait staff was willing to unstarch their shirts a little and cut up with us. Had a great time."

  • "My wife and I dined at Vincenzo's before the theater on a Tuesday night. We were promptly seated and courteously moved to another table that we preferred. The captain was prompt, friendly and attentive, and other offered assistance. We were short on time, but it was not a problem and courses were served promptly without rushing. Regarding the food we chose to share a Caesar Salad, and have had this before. Unfortunately it was overly strong with vinegar, and my wife did not care for it. The server noticed and quickly replaced hers with another salad. She chose the Veal Gabriele, which has been on the menu forever, and loved it. I had a Swordfish special, and it was wonderful - piping hot, very large, and with a delicious risotto."

  • "This was a lovely night out for my husband and me. We split an appetizer - which was prepared tableside. Don't miss out on the Cesar salad - prepared at tableside as well. Our entrees were great. A very relaxed meal, but our waiter - Kyle - did such a nice job checking on us and making sure we were enjoying ourselves. Keep an eye out for one of the owners to come by and say hi. Valet parking is always appreciated, and someone to greet you and take your coat is a nice touch too. All in all, a lovely lovely evening."

  • "Its hard to rate our experience, but as a sticks dweller it was overall nice. Let me explain. YES I HAD A GROUPON. (gasp!) But still paid $100. Not the issue though. We knew it would be expensive and were expecting that. Not going to lie, the most expensive place we usually bother with our presence is Olive Garden. However I was surprised that you actually had a "groupon section". Complete with fold-up tables (yes they had cloth table cloths and cloth napkins), a row of extra chairs off to the side of the room, & a bathroom that was obviously meant for the peasants. Thanks for making us feel like the low-life that we are. But the service was nice, and the waiters who evidently got the short end of the stick made the best out of it. Thanks"

  • "I and some of my senior colleagues wanted to have a demi-official go-Dutch get-together. Vincenzo's was next door in downtown and the price and place was just right. Reservation was fast and can be updated. We were shown to our tables in practically no time. The menu was well organized and to our choice. Food was excellent and service was friendly. Vincenzo's have a dress code – formals only."

  • "I felt very rushed during my dinner. I probably will not return."

  • "Overall the food was very good. Cooked to the desired temperature and very good flavors. 4 star quality, but not the depth of flavor or the flavor profile you'd get at a 5 star restaurant. Service was impeccable! Gratuity of 20% built into the check, which was absolutely OK for the level of service and you may wish to add to that if your service was as good as what we received. Dessert was mostly underwhelming. One dimensional (the same sauce came on three or four selections). The valentine's cake was good, but the chocolate coating was a bit 'tough' and the cake slightly dry, but the flavors were good. The tiramisu was very good, but had the same chocolate that was on the chewy side. Overall very good! Will try again in a couple weeks."

  • "The service was okay. Our server was stretched thin. We sat at a training table with a white table cloth. It was an awkward table and strange set up as we were in an overflow part of the restaurant (a meeting room). The food was not what we expected from the last few times we have been at Vincenzo's. The next time we dine here it will not be on a holiday. (Or as one of my friends that owns a restaurant said "amateur night")"

  • "I am starting to think that open table reservations are not given much respect. I have noticed that I often end up at the worst table in the house! For Vincenzo's, it was the corner by the bathroom even though the reservation was made 1 month in advance! I think I will have to follow up future open table reservations with a phone call to inquire of seating chart . We were dressed appropriately yet the people in the best seat in the house were dressed for a fast food restaurant! So apparently a phone call is essential."

  • "Visited for Valentines Day. Stuffed veal for me and wild mushroom ravioli for her; both tasted excellent. A chocolate covered coconut desert was excellent and decadent. Bill was $178 for 2 entrees, $40 bottle of wine and dessert; a little high but somewhat expected. Our server was somewhat quiet but polite and attentive. Coat check, valet; everything you would expect from a 5 star establishment. My two slight dislikes were the lack of ambiance and the state of my truck when valet brought it to me. Piano player stopped shortly after we arrived and I didn't hear music the rest of the night. My truck was obviously parked on the street as it had ice on the windshield and wipers. But we would return on a day it is not snowing."

  • "The level of service in without equal. From the valet to the receptionist to the waiter to the food. Everything was just excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to be treated as if they are royalty."
