  • "Three of us arrived around 8pWednesday and were quickly taken to our booth. Restaurant was about 1/2 full and noise level was medium. Our server was knowledgable and quite engaging as to items we might like to go with our entrees (2 steaks and a salad for the lady). We selected the mushrooms and potatoes, good call. The sommelier was a little too thin on presentation. I don't doubt your knowledge but don't under estimate your guest on what they know. Steaks were made to order and we even snagged a nightcap. We will be back."

  • "Service was great, from the hostess stand, to the bar, to the table.. Food was good, but not great. One steak was undercooked to the extent that our waiter noticed it when walking past the table and offered to send it back. The bacon Mac & cheese was really just plain Mac & cheese that happens to have a couple of bacon bits in it. Good Mac & cheese, but no flavor of bacon. We did end on a positive note, however, as the desserts were outstanding. Overall, in most cities this would probably be a good dining experience, but with so many steakhouses in downtown Austin it takes more than this to stand out from the crowd."

  • "Not sure how but Vince Young Steakhouse gets better each and every time. The best steak I have ever had in Austin and probably the state. Their bourbon list is amazing as well. We have never had a bad meal here and look forward to each visit. If you eat steak anywhere else in Austin you are cheating yourself."

  • "This was our second visit and perhaps expectations were high because the first visit was very nice. This visit the steaks were not cooked correctly (one was sent back), the fries and brussel sprouts were dry and the room was very chilly. Certainly had hoped for the same experience but were slightly disappointed...especially for the prices. It was good, but not great."

  • "I've been here 7-8 times. My experience has always been very good. This last round was good for everyone at the table except me. I decided to try the Perfect 10 thinking it was their higher end cut of a filet. The menu doesn't say and the waiter didn't mention that it was a ribeye. Well, I got it and it was cooked well instead of medium, the add on mushrooms were not there. I was disappointed so I sent it back and asked to do the 12 oz filet. I waited and waited and waited and waited for literally over 35-40 minutes as my guests finished their meals and even moved into the coffee round. Finally the damn steak showed up. I had to wolf it down. Not sure if it was a waiter issue or a kitchen issue - either way it was frustrating."

  • "In Austin I've only ever had steak at Austin land and cattle so everything at Vince youngs was a comparison to there. The service was outstanding but the food lacked a little. The bread was dry, my filet mug on was slightly over done and over salted however my boyfriends bone in New York strip was amazing! We had mashed potatoes and asparagus as sides which were good but not great. The same goes for out dessert which was a German apple cake with pecan porter ice cream. I think I'm still partial to Austin land and cattle when I'm in the mood for steak"

  • "We kicked off our ladies night out at VY's and couldn't have been happier with our choice. From the moment we walked through the door, the service was fantastic - thanks Mallory for the table-side fun. The filet entrée special (surf & turf), sides of asparagus & spinach were mouthwateringly tender, all cooked to perfection and the Burnt Orange-Tinis equally delicious. 2-days later, we're still talking about the steaks!! Will definitely return."

  • "My husband and I went here this weekend for our anniversary celebration. The staff were all very nice and helpful. The food was amazing and cooked to our liking. The atmosphere was great we were kind of private in our booth, but not too closed off. The waiter was not annoying and overbearing at all. He was helpful with the menu and filled our drinks quick. I would recommend this place to friends and will be going back."

  • "My husband & I had another great experience at VY's Steakhouse. We had dinner after a musical event, so the valet parking made it easy on us. We were greeted, checked in, and was even informed that our favorite waiter, Ian, was unavailable, but that Kip would take good care of us. And Kip did! He even remembered serving us (including my large family) at Christmas when we sat by the fireplace. Superb service!!! Foodwise, we love the pork belly & it usually is our go-to appetizer. My hubby got the Perfect 10 (boneless ribeye), and I had the bone-in ribeye, even though I really wanted the tomahawk! Next time! Sides were bacon mac & cheese, and broccolini. Dessert was cheesecake & flourless choc torte--yummy! Love this place!"

  • "We enjoyed a nice relaxed dining experience at Vince's. The staff was very attentive and our waiter Nick was very down to earth. We enjoyed the food and wine. The food was ample enough for us to split an appetizer, salad and steak. I was probably the oat surprised the day after our visit because I received a call asking how everything went the night before. That is great customer service! The only compliant I would have is the pricing seemed a bit on the high side."

  • "Ate here Sat night for our Valentines (Fri was booked). We were happy with all aspects of our visit. For an appetizer we ordered the beef bone marrow - outstanding! My wife had the scallop entree, it was cooked perfectly and had the right amount of sides to make it a meal. I had the Perfect 10 (Texas version of Kobe beef) steak with Oscar style topping which is lump crabmeat and asparagus tips in a Bernaise sauce. I am a big skeptic of eating out for steaks because I cook them at home all the tiime. This one was cooked perfectly, had the right amount of fat content , and was very delicious! This place is good for special occasions but a little $$ to eat at all the time. We'll definitely be back!"

  • "The restaurant decor has warm colors and interesting materials but still feels unfinished and cold. Larger scale and more colorful artwork would be a quick fix. (I'm a professional interior designer) This restaurant is really best suited for large groups not romantic dinners. Jazz music performers in the bar were great but too loud in the bar and even on the other side of the wall from the bar where diners' conversation was difficult. My filet mignon was served medium not medium rare like I ordered but the flavor was good. The asparagus was steamed perfectly but the Bernaise sauce was flavorless. Flourless chocolate cake was warm and not to sweet. The Jordan Cab was wonderful."

  • "My wife and I each had bone-in ribeyes, and they were cooked exactly right. The waiter (Gary) was VERY knowledgeable about how the meat was cooked and how to communicate it. And it was nice to have a waiter who wasn't trying to hard-sell us anything. We also had the short rib chili, which was outstanding, and some very good creamed spinach. (No room for dessert!) The restaurant called the next day to thank us for eating there -- I don't think I've ever had that happen before. We were in town for a wedding, which was our first (and perhaps only) time in Austin, and we're glad we chose Vince Young's for one of our meals. (A friend chose Parkside for another -- big mistake!)"

Steaks like we ordered them, very good sides (try the asparagus and the spinach!) and a server and restaurant manager who were present at all time needed. Great atmosphere with the dark interior and the good background music. Everyone who's out for a night of fun and needs some good steaks before go get there. If you want to try the Texas Ten, go early, they sell out very fast."

  • "Wife's birthday choice of resturants. Big Vince Fans but like his pro career we were left disappointed. Wanted to love it and expected Ruth Chris quality. Love the decor and commercials but wish it was half the price and twice as quality. $18 lobster option to the $44 surf and turf not much better than Red Lobster, ribeye tied for my mediocre effort from the grill... Like Vince's NFL future, we probably won't return, sadly...hook em!"

  • "The food was great, but the service was at best a nightmare. We sat a lounge table and felt like the toddler sitting beside us did not belong there one bit. The wait staff seemed lost, bringing out the wrong plates, had no idea how the steaks were cooked, and did not seem to care either. No one asked us if they were cooked to our liking, overall the experience is one I will not be returning for. It really is a shame, because the food was really good. Pretty hard to overcome such poor service."

  • "It would be nice to have a second location in the Domain area.The restaurant is very pretty & all the employees were welcoming. The restaurant is pricy & more for the rich , people on expense accounts or celebrating once a year events.There was a medical dinner group behind the back curtain & the noise from the group was loud & distracting during dinner. All in all, it is not worth the drive downtown, paying to park, & perhaps dining while a loud convention type group's celebration or seminar is overpowering the dining room for others."

  • "The food was excellent. My 17 year old son ordered the filet and said it was the best meal he had ever had. I highly recommend the house cured bacon in anything, but especially the corn and the Mac & Cheese. Steaks were superb as you would expect and the ambiance and service were excellent."
