Diner Reviews
  • "Just enjoyed a fantastic dinner with friends at Vin Vie Bistro. Positive reviews lead us to try it out and we were not disappointed. Atmosphere is sensual and food was everything we had hoped for from the appetizers to those incredible pastry deserts. Well worth a return visit and recommendation to friends."

  • "We started with a cocktail at the bar to make sure we experienced the whole restaurant. When we finished we told the host that we were ready to be seated. I had asked for a table for people watching and that's exactly what we received. I looked over the wine list, mostly French, after a conversation with the sommelier we decided to start with a glass of white with our first courses and ordered a bottle with entrees. The food was great, the service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Overall a great experience!"

  • "I hope people give this restaurant a chance. The food is really good, but the decor is really bad. You know all the Paris decor you see at TJ Maxx, Home Goods, etc...that is what they've used to furnish their restaurant. All the same cliche art work, Paris pillows, etc...it was all a little tacky especially for the price point of the restaurant. The food though, was excellent. Everything was cooked perfectly, hot, and full of flavor. If they can match the ambience to the food, they'll have a real winner on their hands!"

  • "The experience must be expressed in superlatives. It was a dining experience which encourages visiting with your dinner partner(s). The entire staff seemed involved in the service and ambiance. The food was most tasty, with varying taste experiences. Recommend everyone try it once, you'll return."

  • "Vin Vie provides an outstanding French culinary experience. We tried many items on the menu...the escargot (my personal favorite), the mussels, the frog legs, the steak tartare, the duck confit, and the sinful flourless chocolate cake. All were incredibly delicious and prepared to perfection. The wine list is also divine. Owner and sommelier Laurend and server Brian provided outstanding service, knowledge and expertise."

  • "I was very pleased with this great addition to the Atlanta fine dining scene. The service was excellent - the chef made special accommodations for our dietary restrictions. We look forward to our next experience at Vin Vie. Cudos to the Exec Chef"

  • "we enjoyed the food and kindness of everyone but the service was too long. It took us 45 mn between the time we ordered and the time we received our entrée. also a kid menu will be great even if portions allow for sharing"

  • "ordered a vodka tonic- tonic machine was fiat. ordered a Gibson- they didn't have cocktail onions. ordered a glass of champagne- it was sour & flat from being opened too long. we both ordered rib eyes which were very tender & good if a little heavy on the char. escargot were just ok- creamed spinach was too salty & not traditional in spite of asking how it was prepared. frites were good. foie gras was excellent. cream brûlée was lovely. flourless chocolate cake was dense & fudge like which was not what was described or wanted. wine list ok- not big but broad selection. not sure the bartender us the best. would try it again after open awhile longer."

  • "Had a wonderful birthday dinner at Vin Vie Bistro Monday. For me, Belgian endive salad with white wine vinaigrette (SUPER), candied walnuts, fourme d'ambert, pan seared salmon filet frites with herb potatoes, mustard aioli and white chocolate mousse. For my partner, seared Foie Gras with Lavender honey fig marmalade (YUM), grilled hanger steak frites with herb potatoes, spicy aioli, and Crème Brûlée - vanilla bean custard with turbinado. Scrumptious!! But the crowning event was the bottle of Chapoutier, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Rhône (Outstanding). Very nice ambiance, great wait staff, delicious food - it was nice to step into France again right here in Atlanta! Highly recommended."

  • "This place is very good and we were impressed with our food and wait staff. We didn't find it overly pricy for French food in the Buckhead area. I must say the decor is very modern and romantic. I was with a friend so I will be looking forward to bringing my husband. They have a very nice room that can accommodate about 14 people. The menu is not extensive but it did have a varied offering of dishes. It is in a location where there are other restaurants you can walk to to enjoy a cocktail elsewhere if so inclined."

  • "we ate at Vin Vie one month after its opening. Perhaps this is why the staff was so attentive with some special taste tests being offered. loved the food and especially the deserts! the pastry chef is fabulous. Décor simple and calming. One very noisy table upon arrival, but once they left, a nice quiet space. I will be back for special occasions."

  • "We went for a wine paring dinner. 5 Courses with exceptional wine. Clearly the sommelier and the chef have a great collaboration going here. We will be back soon and often"

  • "From beginning to end, our dinner was elegant and romantic. Smiling and efficient, valet, big warm smile from Hostess, choice of seating, unusual wine suggestions, warm and friendly servers and delicious food and desserts. Loved it all."

  • "We ended up at Vin Vie after searching Open Table for something new. The restaurant fully lives up to its positive reviews. Selections in appetizers and entrees are plentiful, the flavors are subtle and while pricing is very reasonable, personal touches - such as amuses before and after dinner - give the impression of much higher scale operation. The staff is extremely attentive and obviously committed to making this relatively new venue a success. With the clear talent of the chef, that should not be a problem. Jaap"

  • "The menu has many familiar entries and the flavor does not disappoint! The service was great as well. On a slightly cooler night, we look forward to trying a table on the terrace. Just the right type of spot for a great dinner, or maybe a drink and a bite at the bar. Not too fancy, not too casual - could become a regular for us."

  • "I felt like we were at a 4 star restaurant, we had 3 people servicing out table and they were very attentive and times out our meal. The food was so delicious that we overate. We shared the cheese and fruit plate which was so good we kept it to snack on after we finished our main course.I had the Filet with potatoe purée. The meat was so tender and delicious. We had the creme brûlée with Nutella for dessert! So decadent and yummy!!! Highly recommend."

  • "Went through all 3 courses and hands down one one of the best restaurants in Atlanta. Everything was very tasty and i spoke to the manager about where they sourced their meat because it was very flavorful and tender. We had the cheese plate, followed by the rack of lamb and the filet, and closed it out with the flourless chocolate cake and nutella creme brûlée. Every course was amazing and our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and ingredients and had some great recommendations. Wine list is very reasonable in price compared to other restaurants. We splurged and had a bottle of silver oak but there are many other wines on the list that are very reasonably priced for the quality of experience in this restaurant."

  • "Everything was perfect! We had been looking for a local French restaurant that served beef bourguignon and we found the brand new establishment called Vin Vie Bistro that's located in Atlanta. Our server, Victoria was an absolute pleasure. She was friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the food and the wine list. The beef bourguignon was succulent and so tender that it seemed to melt right in your mouth. I can't say enought about the delicious biscuits and butter that is made in-house. And you definitely have to try the white chocolate souffle for dessert; it is sheer bliss for your taste buds!"

  • "Absolutely fantastic. If you're going to try something go for the escargot, steak tartar or the scallops. Those were the stand out dishes. This place was so great I went there and re-visited it within a few days. Their wine list is just long enough, the service is great, and the food is more than memorable. I will definitely be back."

  • "Wow! Can't wait to go back! The proprietor Laurend Abraham has experience running one of the top restaurants in the USA, LeBec Fin in Philly, and was the F&B manager at the St. Regis, ATL. He's setting some high standards. From the house-made rolls & butter to the quality of the meats on the steakhouse selection, this is top-notch. Loved the fact that the menu has ALL of the traditional French bistro selections like Beef Bourguignon, Steak Tartare, and Duck Confit on a frisee salad. House made sorbets & desserts, too."

  • "Excellent food, attentive service. The restaurant was not full, but the echo and resonance made conversation more difficult than desirable; some sound-deadening material would be welcome. The food was wonderful, wish we had been hungry enough to try the delicious-sounding desserts. We'll be back!"

  • "I have been dining in some of Atlanta's best-kept secrets for many years now,& I must say Vin Vie was a truly wonderful experience. The staff members there greeted my companions and me with smiles as warm as the ambiance.Upon sitting down our waitress offered us a glass of champagne which is common in French culture since there is always something to celebrate. We weren't certain what wine to order w/ our meals,so the owner personally came to our table & suggested a few. We ordered a variety of appetizers and entrees and were all very pleased. - Though I would love to be selfish and keep Vin Vie all to myself, this is too good to stay hidden for long. There’s no doubt a table at Vin Vie will quickly become the hottest reservation in town!"

  • "We were pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. The decor is very pleasant, almost club like. The meal was excellent, everything well executed. There are several French specialities on the menu: escargots, frog legs, steak tartare. Everything was very good. We will return."

  • "We were looking for someplace we hadn't been, and chose Vin Vie. What a find! You never would have known they had only been open a week. Our filet and scallops were excellent, and they went the extra step to make our anniversary special. Planning on going back son when family is in town."

  • "Excellent value big juicy steaks cooked American French style. Brian (our server) was genuinely friendly, he demonstrated a great deal of food and wine knowledge. he recommended several dishes and we agreed to try them. I had the Ribeye steak with Foie Gras for an entree and my date had the Truit, both came out cooked to perfection. For an appetizer we shared the mussels and the frog legs and for dessert, we had the white chocolate souffle. I would most def go back to try out some other menu items."

  • "It's not often that I crave French cuisine, but Vin Vie has changed that! My absolute favorite dish is the mussels....you could not ask for a more perfect preparation and presentation of this mouth watering dish. The cream based sauce is neither too heavy, nor too light; I returned to the restaurant twice in a week because I had to have more mussels. The boeuf bourguignon is fork tender, with rich earthy flavors, but not overly seasoned....so you can taste the freshness of the ingredients. Desserts are made in-house and range from decadent chocolate to a fanciful elderflower flan. The service is attentive, but not overbearing; friendly, without being too casual. The staff knows the menu and seem to show a genuine love of food. "
