The Vin Room is noisy, pricy and the food quality not very good. A Tapas menu with the price of full Texas-size entrees. Our party of 4 was placed on a 6-seat table, making the food sharing and conversation awkward. The wine list is extensive and expensive. When we asked our server for a suggestion, we just could not hear her over the loud cheesy music and the highest level of noise I have experienced in a restaurant. We ended up just accepting whatever she pointed out on the wine menu. Decor is decent and lights are too dim. When I asked the manager for the washroom, he simply pointed in the general direction without even looking at me.

I went to the Vin Room West after tedious searching for a low priced romantic restaurant. The wine selection had a wide range and was very informative, the food was great. Most of the food I ordered was very fresh and had a simple but elegant taste, I would definitely recommend the Beet Salad and the House marinated Olives. The ambiance is very good especially for couples who wanted to have a nice romantic date. The cost was very reasonable and the staff, oh gosh the staff was incredible. Most of the staff that had served my table were very polite and well mannered, most of all they knew what they were doing and was very calm and well poised. They were very consistent with the flow of their work and knew how to treat a guest. I found this place overall very warm and had a great time there. I have to say that my anniversary dinner with my girlfriend was a success and I would definitely come back in the near future.

My husband wanted to spend some time with each other (we only had 1.5 hours) but wanted to stay in the neighborhood. I made a reservation on-line which was easy. We were taken to a table as soon as we arrived, ordered drinks and food right away. It was super busy, all the tables were full. We never felt like we were waiting nor rushed. The food was tasty. We had the pork belly wraps, beet salad, lamb meat balls and the lobster tacos. All of the dishes were delicious. While I love lamb, they should have been served in front of the scallops. The meatball were strong and didnt taste quite right after the scallops. I don't love scallops but they way they cook them were fantastic. It was my favourite dish! Service was outstanding!

I tried vin room west after having a fantastic experience at the 4th street location. In my experience, the service was decent. It took a bit of coaxing for our waitress to openly give suggestions and chat with us. I found the food good and came quickly. However, the noise level at this location made it difficult for a more intimate experience. I would therefore recommend this west location for groups only.

I went to Vin Room West with a group of seven friends and had a fantastic experience. The sommelier was also very respectful of our price range and made suggestions with it in mind.

My wife and I were looking forward to a nice Friday lunch while the kids were at school. We made a reservation and found ourselves as two of eight diners in the restaurant. Our server arrived, let us know the specials, suggested a wine and it arrived. I ordered the special (a double smoked BLT) and we were fell into our conversation. 45 minutes later, no food in a virtually empty restaurant and I finally go find our server. She gives and indigent look and tells me it'll be ready soon. 5 minutes later it arrives. Apparently 'Double Smoked' is another way of saying dried out to the point of being ready to crumple into the salad. My wife's banh mi sandwich was toasted to burnt. We were extremely disappointed and won't return.

The service at Vin Room was appalling. The food is good, but small plates should come together to the table, not singly and spaced 15-20 minutes apart. They have a great selection of wine, but it is grossly over-priced. 4 small plates and 2 glasses of wine should not cost $140. We will never go back.

We had four of the tapas plus the spinach/artichoke dip. Two of the tapas (lobster nachos, scallops) were excellent. Two (both pork) were mediocre at best. Service was the same - the first two dishes and wine came really fast, the last two and the bill came slowly. Price was better than expected ($70 for two including three wine tastes) for modern foodie-type food. We'd go back but order a bit more cautiously.

We ate there on a Sunday night and were pleasantly surprised to find it not that busy. When we got there at 7:10 we were informed that the kitchen would be closing at 8. We ordered food and drinks right away. 25 min later we had received NO food, and the waiter was asking us if we wanted to order anything more before the kitchen closed. We replied that we could not know as we hadn't even had our first apps yet! We had to ASK for some bread to cleanse our palates between wines (as we still had no food) for which we were charged $4 on the bill!!! After the kitchen closed they then told us that the beverage service would also stop soon. Worst date night EVER!!!

I typically do not follow reviews too closely because I find them quite subjective, so I ignored the feedback i had read in advance about the service. I should have listened. The food was quite good but the approximate one hour wait in between the first batch of dishes and the second was much too long. It was also difficult to figure out who our server actually was - we had at least three different servers throughout the night. It took four hours for a group of four to complete our meal - we were not in a hurry by any means, but this was a little ridiculous. Fortunately the food was good, but not good enough to make me sit through another meal there.

Overall nice experience except for an inattentive server who never approached my wife when she arrived later than I did. Finally had to ask for service at the bar. Food was tasty and moderately priced. Menu confusion though. One dish was named Paella Arancini but when brought to our table was presented as Risotto Balls. We sent it back. This was OUR mistake. We should have read the details more closely. We expected Paella. Later we asked for our Paella and was told we cancelled it. Our server was clearly upset. In fact we paid our bill with another server. We left and saw our original server outside smoking. Nice decor, could use some sound baffling, and a tight squeeze between the bar and tables in some spots. We will return.

I was worried after reading all the reviews about poor service and long wait times for food. Vin must have stepped up their game because we had great service and all of our food came out at the perfect time. The food was pretty good but we will definitely be going back to try some other things on the menu. Scallops were by far the best.

I LOVE the Vin Room for the wine and tapas so Sunday brunch sounded good. The fixed menu featured two salads and a choice of Trout (our choice), Prime Rib and Chicken & Apple sausages for the main with a rhubarb Pavlova for dessert. The salads were fresh with a light dressing on both. The main course was a disappointing with the trout a little over-cooked and the squash was undercooked (VERY firm), and although we had told the server I have a wheat allergy we were also served pasta. I found the Pavlova a little firm and too sweet for my taste but the hubby enjoyed his. We opted for the wine pairing which was nice enough but we didn't really hit the mark for either our main or dessert. Although adequate we will stick to the tapas!

There were only 3 groups in the restaurant for lunch and our appetizer took over 30 minutes to come out. When we got our lunch we had to send back 2 of the 3 dishes. When we got them back the sandwich buns were so burnt they were inedible. During this process our server never stopped by to see how everything was and when we got the bill he tried to charge us for things we didn't order. We will not be returning and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
